  1. First off let me just say I love husker football. It all started with my earlyest memories of being with my family on gamedays either at my grandparents house or at the game in Lincoln with my dad. I grew up watching Nebraska in the Solich era, really started following it in 2000. From what I have been told and watching old games that my grandpa has on VHS the 94-97 teams were some real tough guys. They had that attitude and mentality that is really lacking now. They gave the finger to all opposing players and showed them why Nebraska got all the hype and the rank to go with it. They didn't care if anyone liked them or who they lined up across they were gonna play their heart out, break their bones and bleed for their school, their team, and their coach. They were some bad MFers and they knew it, they had swagger and worked their a** off every single day. The teams now just don't seem to have that drive or that swagger. I believe that something needs to happen to spark that in them. I'm not going to say that Bo needs to go but he needs to figure out how to motivate this team and get them to have that attitude like "I don't care who is across from me i'm going to knock his a** out and win this game."

A big problem I also see is the fans. I don't know what our problem is.. Maybe it's the blue hairs in the crowd or maybe we just are not loud fans but that needs to change. Move the students to behind the opposing bench. Give everyone a reason to stand up and be loud and make this a place that team's hate to play in because they can not hear and it feels hostile. A change needs to be made with the entire fan base.

We need to stop living in the 90's. We need an AD that knows and understands that. Make the changes that need to be made and revamp the program to get with the times. It's a new era in college football its time to get with it.

  2. I'm not worried about him being a great one. Just better than Zac.

Then you should be really really worried.

I think that overall he is better than Lee. So far. Lee seemed rattled in his last 2 starts. We couldn't simply manage the offense against Tech and ISU and win so I doubt that'll work with OU.

I agree with this. We won the game with green at QB. And the seven points "He" gave up was Watson trying to force that damn screen he is so adamit (Spell check?) about, that has caused us nothing but trouble. Zac would not have made that pass either, it was a perfect job by baylor to pick that one off and take it back.

  3. I don't think Nebraska is a disappointment... they can still win the North, and if they do, how are they a disappointment? Were people expecting a Big 12 title with Texas and OK on the other side? I think people were expecting a North title this year so they still have a chance to fulfill expectations.

No...they are not a disappointment. They've only lost to two teams, at home, they never should have lost to. Are no longer starting the best QB, and the o-line can't open consistant holes through news paper.

A team that should be, at worst, 7 -1 but is 5-3 with one of those loses being to ISU at home, is a disappointment. If they lose anymore games this year, with the exception of this Saturday, they will have moved from disappointment to joke.

I agree with all except, The QB, and the moving to a joke. If we win the north that was the realistic goal this season along with a bowl game and i am confident we will do both.

Sounds like we may have some fairweather fans on this board. Just saying...

  4. suddenly a carbon copy of last year's team? Everyone hear thinks that they will absolutely roll us.

To win this game, we have to play, Beamer Ball. Defense giving us good field position and even a defensive score. Special teams needs to be focused the entire game, preying on OU's mistakes, like a botched hold on a field goal, blocking punts, solid blocking on returns, and lights out kick coverage. If the defense, and this is a big if, can take a pick to the house, and give us 7 points, that would help out tremendously, special teams returning a kick, or maybe just relying on our special teams to get us a field goal. 10-14 points from our defensive and special teams units would be a huge advantage in the game. As for offense, if our other two units give us points, then Cody would just have to sustain drives. Don't focus on the homerun ball, just move the sticks, points will come with that process.

Oh, and btw, since Landry Jones is a freshman, let's make that stadium a living hell for him, much like what we saw our own Zac Lee go through in Blacksburg.

I hope we do a better job of bothering Jones than we did against ISU's freshman QB. He actually looked calmer than our QB :hmmph

Yes, that was a sickening and unnerving sight as a Nebraska fan.

  5. Cody won us a big 12 game. Zac did also, however it took Zach 3 qtrs to score. And that was because the coverage was blown, look at the film Paul was wide open. Cody could have hit that throw too. I have not seen anything from Zach that would lead me to think he could win us another game. He is an avrage passer with no pocket preasence (spell check?) and can not scramble to save his life. He is afraid to take a hit, something Cody is not ie. Running through the Baylor player. I believe Cody is our QB and can win 3 of the next 4 games.

    OU- L 14-21

    KU- W 21-7

    KSU- W 28-14

    CU- W 24-21

  6. You better be loud... I see all of these post on here..

"were gonna get our ass kicked" ,"we suck", blah blah blah...

Its becoming the "in" thing to say how bad we are. I don't give a crap what we have looked like today, last week, 2 weeks ago, last year in Norman, etc...

The fact is we have a huge opportunity to right the ship next weekend and we need to be loud into the game and a difference maker. This is a big time game regardless or records, coaches, qbs, etc...

If you are going to be a pessimistic person and just go to the game expecting the worst please go to our Classified Section and sell your tickets so someone who wants to be there can go and be the 12th man.

You are the smartest person i have heard in a long time. GO BIG RED

  7. Baylor will beat Green and so will Colorado at this point. He is a overhyped Freshman that isn't ready for DI Defenses. He stairs down recievers, doesn't know where the DBs are on the field and over throws recievers.

I do believe your thinking about Lee when you say he stairs down recievers, and overthrows recievers. Lee in the games vs Big 12 opponents has not shown that he can hit his reciever the majority of the time. I think he could be good if he calms down and goes through his progression and has the timer in his head saying "Get out of the pocket" when need be. I do believe Green should start, use this season (which is far under what we all thought it would be) as a year to get used to D1 football and the offense and come back next year and lead this team.

And i would put him in a few series vs Baylor, if he does not spark the offense or does worse then Lee then by all means put Lee in and keep him in. I just want to see this team put up some offense.
