  1. I've got to agree with comments made by knapplc above. I'm sure any of these radio hosts and sports columnist would love to know how much Nebraska fans fret over the ignorant asinine comments they all have about the split of the Big 12. I'm sure Texas and Missouri fans would love to know that all this banter is getting under the skin of so many Husker fans. I unfortunately get stuck listening to a self righteous no-logic radio show host named Kevin Keetzmen (not sure on spelling, nor do I care)........he is a real Husker hater and will bend all facts and logic to make the story follow his personal beliefs. I can't get mad when I hear it though. I laugh at their sourness. I mean, if they are all so happy that we left, then why the hell do they seem so damn mad!? Right? In short, I think we are all better off. Nebraska is a true fit in the B1G. Nebraska fans who haven't accepted that I think no doubt will soon grow to love it in the Big 10. I wish the former conference well. I don't know if things are going to work out very well for the bottom 5 or 6 teams in the Big 12 that will probably find themselves at the bottom of the league every year. Only they can control their own destiny and it is no longer our problem. I hope we meet Texas in the National Championship game in the near future.

  2. Barney does need to show me he can coach these guys up and finish their damn blocks though. Our aggressiveness has been lacking up front. We just don't go out there and smash guys in the mouth much anymore. But the other side of that coin is the fact that I really don't think Watson's offense complimented Cotton's style of coaching. This staff was just thrown together in the beginning with some old familiar faces. It just didn't seem like anybody was having much success trying to coach alongside Shawn Watson. Most of all though I think Cotton's style really never fit in well with Watson. Thankfully, that man is gone ( I know some of you disagree with it, but I begged for years for his release), soon we will see how Beck and Cotton merge to form an offense.

  3. This year will be the first year we really start to see the talent on our offensive line. We've recruited very well up front and have some top notch young guys ready to make an impact up front. Sirles, Moore, Rodriguez and Qvale will step up, and incoming center/guard Ryne Reeves is gonna be a pitbull up front. Caputo is great, but hopefully when Reeves makes the transition to center, the rest of the offensive line will develop the smashmouth attitude that Reeves has. Cole Pensick was also a really hard nosed player, but I really haven't heard a lot about how people think his transition to the offensive side of the ball is going to work out.

  4. The offensive line is going to blow open some huge gaps this year! ( If I say it with enough confidence it will make it reality, right?). I'm really hoping the offensive line comes together very strong this year and I have every reason to believe it will. With that in mind, I don't think you'll find a more instinctive back in the B1G, possibly in the country than Rex. I'm a huge Burkhead fan, but I really think his vision and effort after contact is one of those things that just can't be taught. This guy has got it, and if the offense gives him the chance, I expect Rex to come out of this season as a Top 3 back in the country.

  5. I think Bubba will take the money and begin his baseball career. Who could blame him? Not I. You just don't get an opportunity like the one he has. To play ball for his hometown Royals for the kind of money he will see. I think the decision has already been made.

I think Nebraska fans should not get too worried about the quarterback situation. It might seem dire, but really I think we are going to be more than fine. Martinez will most likely start, with Carnes at number 2. I have liked Kellogg from day one and really like his timing and pocket presence. He could surprise a lot of people and be very solid for us if needed. The best part will be when Brion, and Broekemeier become the top contenders for the starting job in two years, then Jamal Turner moves back into the mix. Really excited about Broekemeier and Carnes.
