I am ok with paying over $1M but never for Diaco. If it was Venables or Aranda I would as they have consistenly shown results. Diaco had one strong year and the rest was mediocre or worse.
People you've mentioned already make north of a million on proven teams. Why would they leave. You've got to be realistic.

I get that and am the one to originally post their salaries, but they are making that much because they have consistently (keyword here) delivered great results. Diaco is nowhere near their level and would not deserve 7 figures

It's not about what you deserve, it's about what the market dictates and it appears that the market for Diaco is $1mm+

Paying elite money for an elite coach is the best money a program could ever spend. But, paying elite money for a mediocre coach is the biggest waste.

    Very... Very... important point.

Could someone please explain that to our athletic department.

So who are we suppose to go get? Who would be the only coaches worthy of elite money that we could REALISTICALLY get?

  2. They list Austin Carr as the most sure handed receiver, but I'd put Westerkamp up against him any day. Just sayin..

As for Cethan, he does drop an occasional ball. But man, when he pulls one in you just know he'll get some yardage.

And don't forget one of Cethan's drops was from that big hit he took in the back. Would be hard pressed to find someone who comes down with that ball.

  3. The "Riley is due for his upset" ideology is flawed. Tired of hearing it. Let's hope we lose by 40 and start firing some coordinators

Wow..I am just as upset as everyone else but as a fan I have never hoped we would lose a game, let alone by 40. Can't believe people would say stuff like that and consider themselves a fan. Always root for your team no matter what. GBR!!

  4. It's pretty amazing to see how many people are perfect in their life and their job. Drew didn't get his part done and he knows that more than anybody. Everyone messes up but he is being a man and taking ownership of that. He had a great camp ask anyone who was around for it. He will bounce back and will be a great kicker for us. People need to calm down and take a deep breathe. This is only a game.

  5. Drew will be fine this year. He has a great work ethic and with the help of the special teams coach and his brother, he will only continue to get better. Can't wait to see him on the field for 3 more years.

  6. Gut feeling: Tressel head coach and Frost offensive coordinator/head coach in waiting. Best of both worlds for those two as Tressel has always wanted to get back into coaching but who knows how much longer he could do it. It would also give Frost more years to prepare for the big step up to head coach. I know people are saying Tressel is already out of it but I just do not believe it yet and I know this would be my dream choice but I suppose we will all just have to wait and see. The speculation and anxiety is driving me crazy!

  7. The problem with this year is we could have easily been 5-7 or 6-6 and evidently that is good enough to be our coach. He has not gotten any better while he has been here. And its still ok to look and act like an ahole on the sidelines and in your press conference. He does not fit in here and its not getting any better....i fear for our program in the future. Welcome to mediocracy Nebraska

  8. Just like everyone else I am hoping we pound the rock with options, power runs, and more option. When we do need to pass I hope we continue to roll Armstrong out like we have the last couple of games. He looks more comfortable on the run and always have that option to tuck it and get some yards. Also helps out with his reads which he has trouble with from time to time, but that comes with age. I have a good feeling about the game and hope we continue to blitz like crazy on defense and get the crowd going all game. On an off note, I have been looking at michigan st boards the past week and can not believe how many of them are so arrogant and confident that they will win by 30+ and are not even giving us a fighting chance. I hope their team comes in with that mindset and over look us as we continue our undefeated streak against them!! GBR

  9. I can handle the growing pains with Armstrong because he is showing such potential. I get confused why Beck goes away from the option and the run game in general during the game when it is being so effective. I also like the roll out passing plays with Armstrong to get him moving and give him an option to run if we are covered down field. It looked like the line struggled a little bit with straight drop back passes and he was getting pressure on the interceptions he threw. This is expected with the injuries that we have had and I hope everyone heals up this week. On the offense I just want to see power run formations and control the line, game, and the clock.

As for the defense..the second half was very impressive and it looked like Pap finally discovered the second page of the playbook that includes blitzes. I am a huge fan of blitzing on almost every play especially with as physical of secondary as we have. They looked like they were finally back to having fun and flying around instead of thinking so much. I sincerely hope that this continues for the rest of the year. GBR

  10. I went down to Kansas this weekend and decided to stop by for the second half of their game friday night. As much as I hate to say it I just was not impressed with Peyton. He did not do much the entire second half when they were trying to protect a 10-0 lead. The tackle did not have a very hard time blocking him and he only had 4 tackles in the half. They actually had more success when they ran to his side because he always went outside and tried to beat the tackle around the edge, with little success. The only time he had success was went he went inside three or four times. Overall, I was not impressed with him and am hoping it was only a fluke game. The level of talent that they play is also poor even though the team they played was ranked inside the top 5 in the state. I hope there is something there that the coaches can build on because I just did not see it and that is pry why i am not a coach.

  11. Burroughs won his 65th straight match in world competitions today bringing home another yet another gold medal. This guy is unbelievable and is not getting the recognition he deserves. One of the most underrated streaks in all of sports!!

  12. Was just leaving class and ran across Sean Callahan outside the stadium so i stopped to see what was going on. He said they havent been able to reach oit to anyone yet but said things off the field were far from normal because of the leaked audio. Whenever Sean is around you know something is up. I dont see anyway Bo survives this
