I don't know what Bo put in the water, but people are sure drinking our brand of kool aid for 2010. It just seems weird to go from complete oblivion to where we're at literally "overnight." I think Suh's big game really put Nebraska back in the conversation.

Thats what happens now a days. Look at the polls this year, multiple teams jumped 10 spaces at a time for a televised win and Miami was officially "back" (by ESPN of course) to give a couple of examples. Its all a giant hype machine and Nebraska for the last few years was on the outside looking in, but now with that dominating victory versus Arizona, the media is giving us hype. . .maybe a little more than deserved, but hype nonetheless.

And the flip side of that is that it can go the other way overnight, too. Today's media darling is tomorrow's pariah. Look at all the happy feelings Kansas was getting two seasons ago, and where they ended up last year.

    :yeah exactly.

  3. If they only win by 10, they get lambasted for not being able to put away a team who is playing a true freshman at qb.

Hell, Texas outgained them. Bama had just blown a huge lead. Saban was pissed and I don't blame him. As it is, it really wasn't that convincing of a win given the circumstances. If UT has somehow gotten another turnover and touchdown(cutting the lead to 3), the whole country would be screaming that Bama was a fraud and didn't deserve the title.

I can see your point of not being able to put a team away, but Bama's response to Texas' comeback was a sack causing a fumble (touchdown followed), and then a pick. So I think that there wouldn't have been an upheaval for fraud against Bama being the true champs if they would've just kneeled it.

  4. This whole pussification of America is apparently as real as some people think it is.

They won by 16 points....sixteen. BIG MF"ING DEAL!!! They had slacked their lead down to 3 points with 6 minutes left in the game & he wasn't happy about it.

Shall we go back through the number of games that TO coached where we buried teams by a hell of a lot more than 16? Does Minnesota ring a bell for anyone?

Sometimes I can't tell whether NU has the best fans in the country, or just the biggest collection of pussies.

    This isn't intramurals.

You're right, it isn't intramurals, but showing restraint and respect for your opponent when you clearly have them beat doesn't make you a pu&&y. And, if I'm not mistaken, a shilacking of Minnesota never happened in a national championship game.

  5. What's the reason given for not wanting to play Boise at home--is it the million bucks that they want? I've been unable to find any information on this other than Shatel's article here: http://www.omaha.com/article/20091116/SPORTS/711169832

It sounded from the old article that they were in talks to schedule a future game. I would think that it is more of a monetary sticking point than one of NU "ducking" Boise, but hey....who knows? Anyone have some solid info to share?

If they are the supposed perrenial powerhouse they claim to be, they shouldnt request a million dollars for a game. NE doesnt even pay the sun belt teams that much money and they are much worse. I dont think its right that Boise St wants to thought of elite but still wants to get paid to play games like they are an underdog.

  6. Im tired of Boise St. I think 4 is fine or generous, especially after the rousing game in the Fiesta vs. TCU. AND last night on ESPN radio I heard talk of them being rated in the Top 5 in the start of next year. For them to be a legitimate contender, they really need to look to join an actual conference.

  7. I feel like the kid in "A Christmas Story" when he's waiting for his Little Orphan Annie decoder pin!!

Let's hope this time it turns out much better

"Dont forget to drink more Ovaltine???" Hopefully the decoder says "I want to play for Nebraska!"

I believe it was, "Be sure to drink your Ovaltine." A crummy commercial.

Ah yes. It looks like I need to tune into TNT more on Christmas Eve. lol. Regardless, I want Cooper N soon so I can take a breathe of relief.

  8. Image I made for the page just screwing around for a few minutes this afternoon...

Nike gloves, lol... you should have found one with Adidas gloves in it. lol goos sh*t though brother.

I would've thought you were talking about the Old N symbol with the cursive Huskers. But I see you're even more about the details than myself!

  9. He is wanting a spot with us. I really dont know if there will be room.

I know it might eb wrong but we might need to look at pulling offers or asking guys to walk on. Getting depth at Oline would be huge right now.

Agreed. What about the in-state guys, Evans and Cotton? Do you think they'd still be N if were asked to walk-on? I have a strong feeling that Cotton would be. . .I think he has ties to the team :)

  10. Nice. Thats great that he wants to model his game after Suh...why not do it at Neb. Does anyone else think we can tap the Ohio recruiting market? There are a lot of players here that want to play at OSU, but I think if we keep our momentum, we could definately get players.
