  1. I'm a big wine fan. I started out drinking heavy tannin-filled reds, but I've since switched my loyalty to whites. I like them dry, so mostly Sauvignon Blanc with the occasional Chardonnay thrown in for good measure. If I'm drinking reds it's still Cabernet, with some Merlot and some Shiraz.

If I'm drinking beer it's typically something pretty light. It's rare that I drink anything darker than an amber. I'm just not into the bitter beers. For "regular" drinking I buy MGD, but sometimes I'll get Lazlo's Chaco Canyon or Heineken.

I don’t do many mixed drinks. I make a pretty good Bloody Mary, but doesn't everyone? It's a pretty easy drink to mix. I dig Margaritas, too.

Not so fast my friend. There are BM's and then there is 'The T_O_B-B_M.' I don't share this formula often but for K-nap and the rest of my Husker Board Breathern...

    32 oz. Clamato juice

    12 oz. Coors/Keystone light

Regular size can of Beef broth

3 shots of Lea and Perrins Worchestershire sauce

    8 oz. water

    several shakes of celery salt

Lousiana hot sauce to your taste

mix 3 parts mix to 2 parts Vodka/Tequilla

(The Vodka/Tequilla doesn't have to be top shelf as the taste comes mainly from the mix.

    Garnish with pickled asparagus.

Serve with scrambled eggs and salsa on the veranda at dawn plus 30.

    Enjoy!

That sounds great, but do you have a recipe that makes more than one bloody mary? :LOLtartar

  2. I have an iphone currently. My contract runs out in February, so ive really been hoping verizon gets it, bc AT&T reception is terrible and I want to switch. Then the unthinkable happened. In December, I dropped my phone and the LCD screen cracked, leaving my phone broken, unable to see the screen. So I had to get a new phone (and with that a new 2yr contract with AT&T) ASAP to be able to connect to the world again. . .and then F-in Verizon comes out and says "iPhones in February!"

    Anyways, I'm bitter.

I'm wondering if they are going to run into the logjam that happened on AT&T's network. Let me know how it works once you get one!

  3. :yeah . I'm having trouble figuring out why would one of the best receivers in the class go to a run school? Don't get me wrong, i'd welcome him with open arms, but DGB probably enjoys catching the ball rather than blocking. But if Bama and Ohio State can do it, we should be able to as well.
  4. If Auburn can get Fairley into school, how the hell do we have so much trouble getting Braylon into school? Did you hear that interview after the game?

The only difference between Suh and Fairly is Suh's ability to speak English. Otherwise, same level.

    :sarcasm

  5. Id say our besties in the BigXII was Kansas or Iowa St. because they beat us about 1 in every 20 shots. With that, I'd think we'll get along with Minnesota and Indiana. :koolaid2:

Also, in defense of OSU fans, there are some a-holes, but there are some in every crowd. The debauchery shown in this video doesn't exist to the levels as shown anymore. The Columbus PD along with E. Gordon Gee have cracked down on this type of behavior.

Im not saying that hazing of other fans doesn't occur (I have never seen it and I wear my N hat each week), but that video was a Michigan game for the buckeyes to go to the nat'l championship.

The drinking in the streets in now kaput and there is not trash everywhere. You have to have your solo cups and if a cop sees you walking around with one, they make you pour it out. . .I know this first hand.

But back to the subject at hand. Our besties in the Big Ten will definitely be Badgers or Hoosiers.

  6. Two things went through my mind when I made the comparison D-line and QB play. The D-line obviously was affected without SUH, which I think was best shown by the stat of TFL and sacks. The QB play was similar: inconsistent. T-Magic had Heisman caliber performances this year, but also had performances like Washington(v.2) and SDSU. So my vote was for last years team eventhough it doesn't say it in the polls.

  7. So after each season, a few sportswriters always pick their top 10 or 25 for he upcoming season. With that, where do you think the Huskers land?

I think that with the poor postseason showing, we will be in the 15-19 range. Thoughts?

  8. Havent tried this yet but im going to. Sounds good!

    Apple Pie (Bulk) Drink Recipe

    Ingredients

    * 1 qt. Everclear [ or Golden Grain or 180 Proof Vodka - all work well - just use

a middle shelf vodka] Amount is approx. “90% of a 5thâ€

    * 1 gal. Apple Juice

    * 1 gal. Cider, apple

    * 6 -8 sticks Cinnamon Sticks [or cinnamon powder, or Hot Damn Liqueur]

    * 1 cup white sugar, 2 cups brown sugar

    Mixing Instructions

Mix apple juice, apple cider, sugar, and cinnamon sticks together while all are getting hot. Boil until cinnamon sticks lose flavor (they will unroll). Remove from heat, let cool. Add Everclear, and stir. Taste. Refrigerate. Add more Everclear if you want it stronger, more sugar if you want it sweeter, or even more cinnamon. Throw it in the fridge and drink when ever you want it.

I love bourbon drinks, and yet somehow I've never gotten around to the old fashioned. Angostura bitters i trust?

    You are correct sir.

  9. My favorite cocktail for the last 30 years is, hands down, an Old Fashioned.

    How I do it:

    Highball glass

1 sugar cube ( unbleached cane sugar if no cubes around)

3 dashes of bitters on top of the cube

small amount of bourbon and 'muddle' ( back of a teaspoon to smash the cube up)

After sugar is completely dissolved, add ice, and bourbon to almost the top of the glass.

Might add orange slice or cherry if they are around.

Bourbon choice now is Maker's Mark.

I like to kick back wearing my narrow tie, watching reruns of the old black and white "Outer Limits".

    (Thanks Netflix)

I started drinking these so I could drink along with Mad Men. I have two favorite bourbons: Bakers bourbon and Basil Haydens. They are both incredible smooth and would be a sin to put anything but a splash or two water in!
