  1. The 2000-2010 decade was the best decade to be an Iowa fan in terms of winning percentage since the 1950s. The 2000-2010 decade was the worst time to be an NU fan since the 60s winning percentage-wise. Fun fact, NU's winning percentage in the 2000-2010 decade was better than the Iowa Hawkeyes' winning percentage. So to use the framework set forth by Dan Hawkins, "The worst days as a Husker are still better than the best days as a Hawkeye." The numbers support that claim, and that should be taken as fact.

    ^^^This

Taken as fact and gospel.......love it...

  2. This was sent to me in an email. I have no idea who wrote it, but thought it was too funny and too tru not to share.....

Bo is not running a program with 31 players arrested 25 times in less than 4 years, many for violent crimes & felonies. That would be Urban Meyer at Florida. (Urban's now employed by ESPN as an expert on running college football programs.) Urban is a big name coach, and his name will be linked to any top-tier program looking for a coach.

Bo is not running a program under NCAA investigation for the 2nd time in 6 years, nor is he accused of personally lying to the NCAA and covering up infractions. That would be Jim Tressel at Ohio State. Big name coach.

Bo is not running a program currently under the black eye of a 2-year bowl ban and major scholarship limitations. That would be USC. Big name program.

Bo Pelini has not lost 8 of his last 13 games. That's Mack Brown. Big name coach.

Bo is not running a program just coming off its 7th probation, this one requiring it to vacate an entire season's victories. That would be Bob Stoops at Oklahoma. Big name coach.

Bo is not running a program with 7 infractions of record, and just linked to a QB-for-hire scandal that will likely result in infractions, a program where 3 coaches (Jordan, Dye, Bowden) in charge for 40 of the last 55 years later admitting to paying players. National champs.

Bo is not running a program with more probations (1) than BCS bowl wins (0)since Tom Osborne retired, 5 coaches in 10 years, and where the head coach's negligence just killed a student. That's Notre Dame. Big name program.

Bo Pelini is not running a program that has lost 20 of its last 26 conference games. That's Michigan. Big name program.

Bo Pelini is not running a program that is just 26-22 in conference in the last six seasons, and has been stung by drug issues, suspensions, a workout abuse incident that hospitalized 13 kids, and pays its coach more than $3M a year for this. That's Kirk Ferentz and Iowa.

Bo Pelini is not running a program that, in the past 20 years, has had multiple probations, postseason bans, scholarship reductions, has been caught payingmultiple kids ($150,000 for one DL to sign), linked to shady loans, and found guilty of lack of institutional control. That's Alabama. Big name program.

Bo just wins 10 games a year while running a clean little program that gets no headlines for arrests or investigations, that recruits churchgoers instead of rule-breakers, that kicks off players who don't toe the line, that graduates its players, that has won 16 of its last 21. No way should Bo be considered a "big name" coach just yet, on the top tier with the other coaches mentioned above.

  3. Selfish reasons only, but Soldier Field would be Awesome......

Well, I am getting the picture from the article that it will circulate every four

years b/t Indy and Chicago (Soldier Field) right?

I think you're right. Chi-town is just closer for me and despite the elements, it would be a great venue....

  4. Excellent news on Braylon Heard. I am excited about these guys, but the thought of 2 true freshmen backing up "I wanna Rex you up" Burkhead scares the hell out of me.

Hope the offensive line comes together this year..

You said a mouthful here. It wont matter who is back there if we can't open consistent holes.

  5. I listened to Bielema at a coaching conference and he was a great guy. Seems like a good dude to play football for....Pelini and him will have some good games.

I agree. As an Iowa fan , I am pizzed, playing Wiskey is our game!!! No way around it. If the B10 does not put Iowa/ Wiskey back together I will be changing my username. They are fun. I am sure they are "VERY HAPPY" to welcome the Big Red into the conf. You'll like them, they play a reasonably fair game, infact I think some could argue they run the most straight forward program out there and are having sucess doing it.

The B10 will put Iowa and Wisconsin back together. I bet NU gets Purdue or Indiana. Too much history between the hawks and wiskey.
