  1. His top 5 consists of Nebraska, Boise St, Wake Forest, West Virginia, and Texas A&M. We are the only official that he has scheduled thus far.

"I'm going to take this visit first and see how much I like Nebraska before I think about taking other officials," Shortridge said. "I've been talking with coach Kaczenski and getting prepared for what I'm going to see.

"The environment on the campus and within the program is important for me. I want to be in a comfortable place."

I don't want to jump the gun here, but that sounds pretty awesome to me. Sounds almost like he is giving NU a shot at sealing his commitment before even scheduling anything else.

  2. We picked up a real stud in Newby. I'm excited to see what these LBs we've recruited the last two years can do on the field. And Michael Rose redshirted last season and could be a freshman all-american.

Michael Rose was in the 2012 class, making this year his first year... Has not redshirted.

Skers you referring to Santos? He redshirted last season.

  3. For me, it will be which position have the coaches projected him to play?

He will start out at CB.

I've heard that as well, but I still want the question asked.

And it still is stupid, IMO. This kid is crazy with the ball in his hands

Where would you put him Paul? He played QB in HS right? There, RB, or WR?

  4. That would be about the worst thing too. If we lose Cravens to Mich and have to see him for 3-4 years, that would just be terrible. I'd hate it even more if Hoke snags him before we even get a chance to pitch NU to him. I'm hoping if he goes to USC we see him in a couple of rose bowls against them during his tenure there.

I'll drink the Aid though and get pumped for a possible commitment. Drink up! :koolaid2:

  5. Just watched Avery play the South Sioux City Cardinals (class B champs two years in a row). Avery looked very athletic. I was impressed with his ballin' abilities. If Bo doesn't want him he should at least let Doc know about him.

  6. Hey crew (that's all of you not just paulcrewe). Thought we needed a holiday thread to take a little break before the home stretch of the crazy month that I am sure is to follow. What better time than Christmas day (plus it's a dead period...)

I read the board a lot and post every once in a while as a minimal contributor. I just wanted to give a big holiday thank you to all the recruitniks who put in a lot of time reading other boards and giving us the scuttlebutt, the premium users of paid sites that give our poor tooshes the skinny on what's happening in the recruiting world, and the mods who run the cleanest board I have ever seen without interfering all the time with the fun by making examples out of people and banning them for stupid reasons. This is still, and probably always will be, my favorite sports message board.

So to everyone, keep up the fantastic work. I can't wait to see what happens as we wrap up this recruiting class and bring in a smaller but hopefully extremely talented hull of players in early February. Merry Christmas everyone!

  7. Sounds like Bo will be visiting JD on thursday. Time to seal the deal.

Indeed. Talk some sense into him Bo! I will say that if he still wants to do the live announcement with hats at the Army AA game, then I'll know something. Hope we gain his commitment before then. JMO

Have we ever been picked during a hat selection? Did Cally recruits ever do the hat game and throw on a skers hat?

  8. I live in IC and they have some of the worst fans. Not all of them, but there are a lot of stupid shitheads. Not to mention their gameday experience is second to Lincoln by far. I got stuck watching the rest of the Iowa game instead of the first quarter husker game on BTN this weekend when hosting a watch party with a dozen or so other refuges here. Was like living in hell.

Same here about the game! I was visiting some friends in Ames before the UNI debacle and didn't get to the Neb game until around 10 mins in the 2nd quarter. I dvr'd it back home in Nebraska, and still had it around then. Dumb! I get ya about Ott tho. Preferred walk on compared to scholly from Iowa, and that decision probably becomes pretty dang easy. Can't wait till next year when we have more schollys to give, because I love homegrown talent suiting up in red.

  9. Here's a couple quotes from Jordan that my buddy sent me:

"I'm still coming to Lincoln. My mom is trying to line me up a flight right now. I was going to make it up there last week, but my boy Michael Rose was down in Florida at

the Gridiron Kings, so I thought I’d wait on him to get back up there before I come. So tell them Husker fans not to worry, I’m still coming no matter what.”

If those are legit, then I am super pumped! That sounds great. If we can get him and his buddies on an unofficial and an official, I am liking our chances.

  10.  On Nebraska: "I haven't been out there yet to visit, but I love how they've recruited me. I don't contact them every week, but I contact them enough to let them know that I'm definitely interested. I love the great defensive tradition they have there, and I'd love to be a part of that. They always have great defenses there. I've always liked Nebraska, and they were one of the first to show me interest."

And according to that article he has a top six. It is the same as his reported top 5 a few posts ago only including ND as well. He sounded like he is getting tired of the recruiting process and might end it sometime soon.
