  1. 1. Nebraska-Defense won't be as good as this year but the offense will be better

    2. KSU- Strong running game, more confident this year, great coach

    3. Missouri- Gabbert will be good, don't know too much about their defense

    4. Kansas- Gill's first year will be bumpy but they will pull out some wins

    5. ISU- They will continue to improve, always be around to be a thorn in someone's side

    6. Colorado- Colorado Sucks

  2. I didn't read all of that, but if there's hype to be bought, I can't say I'm buying it either. And I don't blame fans of other teams not crowning our asses at this point. Why would they? We finished 14th in the polls, lost by far our best player, and have no evidence that our offense will suddenly become less pathetic. And now we're suddenly supposed to be a top ten team? Doesn't seem to equate. Although there is potential, and the schedule is favorable, I have no problem with any poll that doesn't have us in the top 15 preseason.

Now, if we go to Seattle and dominate a pretty good Washington team, I'll start to be less temperate with the Kool Aid.

    :koolaid2:

i agree with most of what you said except for the highlighted portion. i dont think our injuries on the offensive side of the ball can be understated. our line should improve and is getting lots more depth, our RB's should be healthy and our QB should improve(and should be healthy) as long as they stay healthy I think our offense takes a massive step forward.

These are all just assumptions though. That's why I used the word "evidence"... I don't think there is actually any of that regarding an improved offense. We can speculate and say that it should get better or we think it will take a step forward, but I don't see much to back up those feelings. Look at Lee's performance against VT and compare to the one against Texas. Was there improvement there? I sure didn't see any. You can blame the injury, but the problems I saw sure looked more psychological than physical. Regarding the running backs health, well, same thing... why assume they will be healthy when they weren't able to stay that way last year? Helu has struggled with injuries his whole career. And the offensive line, well I guess the Holiday Bowl was promising. As far as "lots more depth", I'm not sure what you mean.

Hey, hopefully something clicks and the offense finally starts to look moderately formidable, but I won't be holding my breath.

We have 4 returning starters 3 or 4 redshirt freshman coming up, add Hardrick and Rodriguez and that makes 9 or 10 quality guys fighting for 5 spots. That can't make the line worse it can only make it better. With an improved offensive line this offense will become a lot better than last year.

  3. I'm not sure if I should let Crazy Joey know that I've got NU and CU gear. His head might explode. I also used to have some U of Hawaii stuff.

I don't understand why it's so hard to see why people can root for more than one team.

i would think that stuff would spontaneously combust, if hung together in the closet...

Nope. I can even wear a CU shirt with an NU jacket or hat. CU and NU fans sometimes spontaneously combust when they see me however...

    That's just wrong

  4. 5 hours huh? well i guess ill play Assassin Creed's 2 until the announcement...

Seeing lots of Owa to UCLA chatter on other boards, one post says Owa not coming, straight from Bo's mouth

Find that hard to believe, why would Bo leak out something like that?

People talk and they're working on a back up plan?

You always have to have a backup plan

  5. Nothing changes if we get all of them or if we don't get any of them, the coaching staff will take the guys we get and the ones we already have and make them better. There is no reason to doubt this based on the things they have done already, especially on the defensive side. Landing any of them will help but it doesn't make the class. We will sign good players and with coaching a few of them could end up great.

  6. New to the board and was wondering if anyone could make me a sig? Something with Burkhead and some upside down horns with name in red? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    How about this:

That is freaking awesome, thanks man!

  7. I have zero doubt that Bo Pelini can turn this kid into AT LEAST a solid contributer at safety. He has taken nobodies that no other school wanted and made them stars. Safety is Bo Pelini's genius. If Bo wants this kid to play safety for him I completely trust that judgement.

In Bo I trust. (especially when it comes to evaluating safties and corners)

I can roll sh$t into a ball and make it shine, but I'd rather start w/ something a little more glossy. :)

    Understood.

But we are talking about Bo Pelini here!

Superman wears HIS pjs to bed.

He did the running of the bulls as well, except Bo walked.

    :)

haha, I know I know - Bo can make even Chuck Norris cry.

They say Bo's tears can cure cancer as well. The only problem is that Bo has never cried.

I thought only Tebow's tears could cure cancer, but I think that went out when he went to take a snap from under center.

  8. First off the offense needs Watson to call plays to get the ball to our playmakers (McNeil, Paul, Helu, and Burkhead) which is what he did in the bowl game. After that if we are talking players it's the 5 guys up front if they are better everything else will be better.

  9. Can't say that I blame Texas . . . after the Debacle in Dallas coming into Memorial Stadium with a raucous Thursday night crowd would be difficult.

If you look at it in just the right light, this is a big compliment to Nebraska. Do you think Texas would have objected to playing Nebraska on a Thursday back in 2007? We're getting back to being a school that other teams don't want to play. That's awesome.

I agree with you completely but a Saturday night primetime crowd with gameday there in the morning and fans being around all day will make it even more difficult for texa$$
