  1. Am I the only one who thought this breakdown lacked any actual facts or insights into NU's defense? I know this is an :espnsucks: segment, but give a guy a little scheme, talk some X's and O's. Anything other than this filler piece about our coaching staff's intensity and the fact that NU defenses try to gang tackle opposing ball carriers whenever possible, as if it's some new revelation to the CFB universe. <_<

Yeah no kidding, but this type of stuff is very typical of College Football Live. It's also partly due to the fact that they had the goon Trevor Matich do the segment. He seems like he's a nice enough guy, but I'm not convinced he has it all going on upstairs. He seems kind of blank to me sometimes...

  2. I was waiting for a punch-line at the end of this saying it was a joke. This piece is full of broad generalizations.

I think being a minority does not make you noble or victimized, and does not entitle you to anything. Get over it!
I've never owned a slave, or was a slave, I haven't burned any witches or been persecuted by the Turks and neither have you!

    So, shut up already.

True, but how can one not see the effects of slavery that still occur today? Why do you think there are so many poor blacks and Native Americans? Oh yeah, it must be because they arn't as patriotic and intelligent as the white man. It couldn't possibly be because Native Americans and black people have had their head underneath the foot of the white-controlled economy. I don't think that minorities choose to live in ghettos and in poverty because they're victimized/noble. Maybe it's all they've been able to know for the last 100 years...

I don't necessarily agree with affirmative action or anything, but the things that are said in this poem or whatever are downright ignorant and borderline racist.

  3. So, why exactly is that picture offensive to some women? It's obviously a joke, and I really don't think anyone with a brain could believe that Republicans are superior to Democrats because of this picture. As already mentioned, there's plenty of swamp donkey Republicans and hottie Democrats out there.

So in a picture that we can probably all agree is just a joke, why would people get offended? "Oh no, Carrie Prejean is more attractive than Rosie O'Donnell, Republicans are jerks and I'm offended!!!"

    ?

Everything should be allowed to be made fun of. A lot of things people do or say will offend at least one person somewhere. Jokes are often meant to be a little offensive because it makes them more funny. It's more taboo and adds shock value.

BTW, we all know the original picture with female politicians isn't realistic anyway. Women should be barefoot and pregnant while making us sandwiches in the kitchen.

  4. Reeves is a little short, and Sterup is the ideal size for an O-Linemen.

i disagree on both counts. 6'3 is about right for a center and 6'9 isn't "ideal" for an OT. not saying you can't be that tall and play, but the prototype OT (if there is such a thing) is more like 6'6 or 6'7.

Don't you guys remember NFL left tackle and 11 time pro-bowler Jonathan Ogden? He was 6'9" and 315 lbs. I believe this height can be perfect for a left tackle on account of the long arms. :thumbs

  5. It would be sweet if the BTN picked up an OOC game this year but who among us could watch it anyway? TWC doesn't have the BTN to my knowledge.

Well anyone who has Directv or Dishnetwork would get it already. I am sure TWC will be getting it soon.

Are you certain? I had Dish until recently and don't remember having the BTN

I know for certain Directv shows it nationwide. I am in Des Moines so I am considered Big10 country and I get it here on Dishnetwork. If you dont get it in your basic package outside the footprint you should be able to get it with the sports pack.

Edit: this is from the BTN site

The Big Ten Network is available to up to 73 million homes nationwide. The Big Ten Network is available across North America on satellite providers such as DIRECTV, DISH Network and Shaw Direct (Canada), telco companies such as Verizon FiOS and AT&T U-Verse, and on cable in 22 of America's top 25 media markets.

The network has cable distribution agreements with Charter Communications, Comcast, Cox (Cleveland), Insight Communications, Mediacom, Time Warner Cable, RCN, Service Electric, Shaw (Canada) and more than 250 additional cable operators across North America. Customers of DIRECTV and DISH Network have access to the network regardless of where they live. Verizon FiOS and AT&T's U-Verse are rolling out the network across the country.

Cable subscribers inside the eight Big Ten states receive the network on either an expanded basic or digital basic level of service. Outside the eight states, excluding St. Louis, Omaha and Louisville, cable operators who carry the network make it available on a variety of packages. Select markets where the network is available are listed below. If you do not see your city listed here, contact your local system office to see if there are plans to add the network.

    Texas Sucks

So wait a second, I can't get the BTN in Omaha with Cox cable? :dunno

  6. We don't even know who we will be playing. Also, I don't think that it would really be that much of a national TV audience. I mean, it's Nebraska after all, and it isn't the 90's when people knew/feared us. The younger generation of college football fans have no idea we used to be really good.

I wouldn't rule out the possibility, but I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't.

  7. Yeah the Big 12 is pretty pathetic. All those schools do is bend over for the wishes of Texas, including Oklahoma (pathetic). It's very surprising to me that various sports writers and people across the country put the blame of this whole situation on us. Texas is the one that throws a tantrum every time everything doesn't go their way.

It should be great joining the Big 10 after next year, and seeing your great fans and coming to your great stadiums.

    Welcome to the board! :)

  8. I used to work at a gym, and I didn't always like to go in early or stay late to work out before or after my shifts. I think it's because that since I was there all day I would just get sick of being there, and not want to be there any longer than I had to. it seems illogical, but I can understand why he would pay to go to another gym.

Maybe Ron is experiencing the same thing? :dunno

  9. it is just over $3 a month, you pry pay more in utilities running the machine then for online play.

and Xbox360 support and Online play is far superior IMO

    Strange match-up Missouri vs Clemson....

    humph

    +1

Totally agree. The online experience is a night and day difference from the PS3. But if you're just using PS3 online for NCAA than it's probably not that big of a deal.

I'm excited to see where they rank the 'skers in this years game. They better make our D beastly. :box
