"Every time we miss a tackle, it seems, a guy runs for 45 yards," said middle linebacker Corey McKeon.
McKeon said defenders were trying to make highlight plays instead of covering responsibilities. When Kansas took advantage, a big gain occurred
Something that was addressed in film study. Coz doesn't want any heroic plays, just guys to do their job and tackle. Simple request eh? We will see if the players listen this weekend or not
We'll see if the request is actually made.

Ahhh, but after last week is he???
In 2004 Big 12 play, our defense allowed 410 yards and 30 points per game.
In 2005 Big 12 play, our defense has allowed 390 yards and 27 points per game.
Looks like the stat comparison I made on another board...
Good to see my influence on other boards!

For those of you whom do not think the highest of Jim Rome, you have watch this video. It is great. Jim Rome gets an a%#-whoopin by Jim Everett. This a true example of how Jim Rome really is.
That was so funny. I still remember when it happened. No one deserves an ass kicking more than Jim Rome. Well, maybe George Steinbrenner.

Not to mention I think they are standing up a bit on run blocking.
Thats what I saw.

If Nunn has a game like he did last week his special teams performance could be the difference in this game. If we control the mistakes, watch the interceptions, fumbles, and dropped passes we could rack up 50 points on Wake.
Nunn's a solid player, makes some dazzling plays, but then drops a easy pass.
I agree. At this point, we need guys like Mulkey out there. I don't care if they don't run after the catch. At this point, we need to actually catch the ball.
50% of our offensive troubles are dropped passes. 50% of our offensive troubles are lack of run blocking by our offensive line.
I don't know how to fix the dropped passes. I don't even know if they can be "fixed" by coaching. But the offensive run blocking can be fixed. Our guys need to fire off the line, stay low, and move their feet. When I see them run blocking, they stand straight up out of their stance and try to over power people using only their upper body. You have to move your feet to be an effective blocker!

-I don't care how long you've had season tickets. You can knit at home. (that's probably too abrasive, but funny and true).
You totally should put that on a shirt.

Geez give the kid a break! He's only been on campus for like a month. I think he needs some time to adjust to both the football aspect of things as well as simply living away from home for the first time.

They are not great, but are much better than the Red and Yellow things we had before!

And of course I did! Looked like a jackass too when my boss came in my office. Thanks for nothing DAVE!!!
Bosses have a knack for coming in at those sorta times...
Reminds me of a comic I saw once:
Boss: Why aren't you working?
Employee: I didn't see you coming.

USC had too many close calls in 2004 to be even considered one of the best ever.
24-13 over Va Tech
31-28 over Stanford
23-17 over Cal
28-20 over Oregon St.
29-24 over UCLA
NU's closest game in 1995
35-21 over Washington State
NU 1995 in a laugher over USC 2004.

Why did Zook and Willingham get jobs a couple weeks after they were fired and it took Frankie a year? The first two got schools in Major Conferences that have some sort of history and Frankie had to settle for Ohio. Why is this? Are Zook and Willingham that much better then Frankie? Are these two that much younger then Frankie? What does this mean? I don't know, but it is just something to think about.
Ron Zook is 50.
That is quite a difference when you are looking to build a program.
-
10? Come on! It takes more than one person to do all of those jobs!

I would like to think age doesn't have anything to do with hiring coaches, the bottom line is you're a good coach or you're not, it should be as simple as that.
Should be, but isn't.
-
I just wonder if a team Like Miami, OU, or another former powerhouse team had a coach that was fired and was only able to land a job at a school like Ohio U, would the fans or the media think that coach was a good hire in the first place at that powerhouse school?
No offense to Frank, but Dr. Tom Osborne couldn't get many AD's to take his calls or even return his calls when trying to put in a good word for Frank..
This tells me all I need to know.
To be fair, the fact that Solich is 60 significantly hurt his chances at a lot of schools, though.

Sounds like Bowman is the real deal. Now that Leon has shifted over to the defensive side of the ball, we may have decent (not great, but decent) depth in the secondary.

6'5" and only 150 lbs? She must have looked like a twig.

I'm pretty certain that officially, we are still the Cornhuskers.

18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM now severely upsets,
rather than settles, your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms
and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good stuff."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to," replaces, "I'm never going
to drink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that
doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old
butt.
These last few really hit home.
Crap.

Man talk about high maintenance! Since when do schedules have to be completely "accurate" anyway?? So I was off by a few entire cities - maybe I was just trying to confuse the Kstate fans, who thanks to me will now be in Norman for the NU-KSU game.
Man, and I went and ruined your whole beautiful plan! My bad.
-
Much better, now!

"Fat, Drunk and Stupid is no way to go through life."
I don't know... Sounds pretty good to me!
-
Oh, and the Mizzou game is not in Manhattan...
And the KSU game is not in Norman...
The Baylor game is not in Lincoln...
The Kansas game is not in Ames...
And this year's CU game is not in Lincoln...
Not trying to rain on your parade or anything.
