  1. Just wait for it, right when he gets to the point where it seems like we'd be better off without him on the field, he'll rip off 100+ return yards and a TD and have 250 total yards with a couple of TDs.

    "Your koolaid is poisened."

I'm putting my money on him having a HUGE game at KSU, thus furthering the frustration with Niles Paul. Dude is the most frustrating player I can remember watching in an NU uniform. ALL the talent in the world, yet is in lala land most of the time.

Lots of peeps wantin to take yer muny. I agree, too much talent for him not to capitlize on his athletic abilities to further himself as an athlete at this level, let alone the next (money paying) level. No excuse for his on the field mistakes. Needs to be coached up better, especially as a senior at this point in time. The better this team does overall, the better his draft stock goes up. $$$ Who is guiding him right now?....GBR otherwise, as always!!

  2. Had a late lunch at Wendy's and as I was leaving I see a couple guys outside in Nebraska red athletic pants and tops. I say hi and introduce myself. I ask them if they are going to the game. One of them answers, "Yep, we're playing in the game". Turns out it's Tyler Legate and his buddy Kevin Thomsen. The team is checked in to the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Bellevue (5 star hotel right next to Wendy's, WTF?) They said they were both hungry as hell and we're wishing they could pop into Wendy's for some chow but had to wait another hour to eat with the team (apparently against team rules to eat anywhere but with the team-- especially fast food junk).

Anyway, for those in town who don't have other plans, swing on over to the Hyatt in downtown Bellevue and you might get to meet some players/coaches. They said they are going to a movie tonight (The Town) across the street at Lincoln Towne Center. I'm sure that the team reserved one of the theaters, so you won't be able to watch the movie with them but it's another opportunity to meet the team. I forgot to ask what time they were going to the movie, but it's probably fairly soon after they eat at 4pm PT.

I was dressed down as such that I didn't feel comfortable going hanging out in the Hyatt in my slacker outfit, so I came home to change and head back downtown to see who I can else I can meet. Gonna hang out at the hotel first, then head over to the theater. Maybe I'll see some of you there. I'll be wearing a read Husker sweatshirt and a black Huskie hat with the purple W.

    "STALKER" :hellloooo

  3. I was a steelworker and with the Operators in the 70's. Built hydraulic cranes(welder & assemblyman) and operated a lot of different construction equipment. Never walked the red steel unless I absolutely had to. :)

Thanks for the reply. Just looking for work. Things are dead slow out here. Also looking for work as a welder if anybody has any leads.

  4. HEY!!!--who the hell is ragging about the chess team. You should of have seen Miss Cook, our instructor, HOLY COW, she was a brown eyed- brunette version of Marilyn Monroe. Fours years of sitting across from her playing chess trying not to get caught looking at her chest. :LOLtartar Me- I had free rain to do what I wanted growing up in Bellevue. No trouble making from me because I knew of the dicsipline that would come my way. Same for my kids. (two boys, one girl) Full exposure to all things sports that they want to try. Dirt bikes for more family fun sharing. Football is thier fav, and yes my 13 yr. old daughter can throw a sweet spiral. She's been a cheerleader five years now. Her first game made me proud, she is a dead ringer for her mother but has my yell. I feel sorry for her future husband. :)

  5. This is probably out of our hands. In our state newspapers we will continue with NU, but the rest of our big ten brethren will do whatever the Big 10 network or some writer for the Chicago Tribune does. We will find out for sure by the time we play Northwestern.

If they refer to us as something we don't like, we can complain, but it might not do any good. I was sitting in a production meeting before an LSU vs Ole Miss game and the reps from LSU insisted that they not be referred to as the Bayou Bengals by ABC during the broadcast. ESPN, owned by ABC, still does it - all of the time. Another reason :espnsucks:

----Don't count on ANY positive comments whatsoever from the tribune, way too many Big Red haters there, courtesy of all michigan & notre dame grads there. It is truly painful about thier pathetic bias against all of us Red Bloods.

  6.

I can't believe nobody addressed this! godd2, that statement couldn't be further from the truth! If you're wearing Husker Red you matter to this team. You are no different from me, a guy sitting a few hundred yards from Memorial Stadium right now. You are no less a Husker Fan because you live outside the state, just like those of us who live in Lincoln aren't somehow "more Husker than thou."

Let's be real about Nebraska, and Lincoln in particular. There aren't a lot of great jobs here. There isn't a lot to do in this state. The weather is too hot in the summer, too cold in the winter, and the streets are in a constant state of disrepair because of it. Add on to that a small population/huge state, and you have high taxes just to pay for basic necessities. OF COURSE people move out of this state, but they keep their Husker fandom alive when they leave, and they are every bit as much a fan as anyone else, regardless of location.

Dude, don't for a second believe that you are not important. I can guarantee you that the folks running the show in the Athletic Department love you out-staters very, very much. You are the people who fill stadiums across the country with Red, you are the people who represent Husker Nation from Maine to Montana, California to Kentucky.

I just can't tell you enough how much you out-of-state folks matter to this program.

Thank you Knapplc for speaking up. :w00t

huKSer, in response to you i have been told by others in this board that since i moved out of nebraska i "moved" away from my team and not living in ne. therefore the KC scene does not matter.

i realize it is the usual small town thinking and those people not realize how big husker football is really nationally.

----Husker football is very big nationally. Here in chicagoland, there are Redbloods all over. I can't tell how many other fans I've met on jobsites wearing my Husker gear. Pay-per view games always draw a good crowd at the couple of restaurants that show them, despite a $5 cover charge on top of the bill. The big12 game last year had people standing outside waiting to get in. That was at the first two places we went to. A whole two hours before the game started. Small town thinking? I think not. :koolaid2:

  8. Hey SkerChicago, KVB & Suh on the D-line in Detroit? Oh no, I feel bad for Jay Cutler facing those guys twice a year for who knows how long. I am going to have trouble on the jobsites wearing their jerseys. Man, can Detroit really be loading up on D. to make an effort at playing NFL football. I hope so, bring the competition to make daBears better, cause if not, then Bill Cowher will be the new coach here in 2011.
