You can rag on Bo and there will always be those people who will hate you just because you don't support the football program unconditionally. You might want to tone down the language a bit though, I understand you have opinions but you sound a bit angry. Also, a good coach in an environment like NU that doesn't have southern advantages takes time.

There are plenty of people on this board that don't like Pelini. This guy is just going way overboard with his hatred of the program and of Pelini as a person.

 

Of course none of us like losing games we should win, but most of us realize Pelini is a young head coach and his potential to become a great head coach is there and we want to see if he can reach it.

 

I can live with 9 or 10 wins a year bc I realize the chances of us winning another MNC in my lifetime are very slim. The sooner people come to this realization, the sooner people can just enjoy Nebraska football again. We can't live in the past forever, we are not a top program anymore where coaches and players line up to come here. If we are going to win another MNC, we need a coach who has years and years to build his team. Many more than 4 years.

Iowa released a statement that Kaczenski is officially leaving. Ferentz released a statement that he is leaving for "another coaching oppurtunity."

If we promote from within it will be another step in Bo's dismissal. He micro manages way too much. He has to learn to delegate and let them sink or swim. He does not have time to be teaching a new DC and OC. This is a big time program, not Cardnil Mooney high school. We deserve qualified assitants who can do their job without someone else helping them to do so.

 

I want Bo to succeed but he seems to be doing everything to fail. He needs help, Stoops or Zook would be perfect for the job and would help on recruiting nationwide. Trust me we need it.

 

Trying to do everything is the first indicator that he is not managerial material. He needs to learn this now. Or he will not be here much longer I am afraid.

Watching 49ers/Steelers on MNF. Lots of shots of Jim Harbaugh calling offensive plays for the 49ers. Too bad Harbaugh hasn't learned yet that he can't micromanage everything and needs to hire some better assistants. I guess he's just not managerial material.

What about everyone who thinks he'll have more input in the defense (a la 2009) if he promotes JP?

I don't know if this has been brought up at all or not, but I'm going to say it anyways. I like Stoops from a recruiting perspective too. With Urban at OSU, we are going to need more helping pulling kids from Ohio. Stoops can do that. And look at how heavy we are over in the Arizona area. Again, Stoops can help there too. I think he is a good fit.

So can Bo-he's from Ohio too as is Beck. Carl is from Ohio too. So we don't need Stoops to recruit kids from Ohio. Bo can do that (and has-look at our roster-lots of kids from Ohio) all by his lonesome

However, I like the idea of Stoops here too. It would be fun!

However, don't you think that Bo has lots of contacts that he can send his assistants too? I'm thinking that Bo probably has lots of high school coaches that he is friends with from back home in Ohio that he can tap into. Head coaches delegate So Bo probably delegates lots of trips to his assistants but Bo knows.

It seems an odd choice for someone who grew up in and developed under the West Coast system...to be the QBs coach now. Love Joe and everything and I'm sure he would help out, but he is a couple years removed from being a player, never coached before, and now the terminology not to mention the offense is all different. Plus, it isn't like he is an option QB, is it? It just seems like if we do bring in a QB coach, we could be better served...

 

I think Ganz was the de facto QB Coach this year, anyway. You could see him on the sideline during every game, coaching Taylor up. Plus, he's already had a whole year to study Beck's offense. I really think he would be a great addition to the permanent coaching staff.

Any of that in this thread is simply looking through red goggles. Don't get me wrong, David is an amazing LB. Best NU has seen in years, but not the best LB out there.

Well OSU has more returning starters than NU, so I'm sure where that logic comes from. Oh and by the way, one of those returning starters is Braxton Miller. And this time he'll have Urban Meyer coaching him. Advantage OSU.
