  1. If Chad and Company would have actually cared enough to focus this year the attendance would have been much higher. I had every intention of being in the twin cities for the tourney but not when we've given away games as often as we did this year. Lost interest almost from the start (following the La Tech series). The attendance will sky rocket next year "if" the returning team can actually play with a little more zest then this team does. No way was I going to risk $1K on watching us go 3 and out. tOSU 8 - NU 2 ... << My game prediction.

  2. umm... 19-9 in "our" park.... I'm not confident that we can even give up less then 10 runs let alone win. It's really sad to think how bad we "can" be at times and yet how good we've been (Arkansas games) at times.

That's baseball for ya. No chance they score that many runs again.

Guarantee they score more then 6 runs.. Oh wait... Kubat is starting, ok, they score 2 through 7 innings and then 10 in the 8th and 9th... We lose a 12-10 barn burner.

In Honesty, I cringe at the thought of having to hope for a victory as I know its senseless to hold out hope of winning the tourney.

  3. My disappointment is with Ted Silva. Not one NU pitcher made the 1st-3rd team All-Big Ten teams! Seriously, can anyone name me ONE pitcher who has improved during the last 2 years? Injuries happen, and it's a contributing factor, but to me, there is no excuse for Silva having to put way too many innings on Vogt (and sometimes Roeder), because he hasn't developed anyone else who can consistently throw strikes out of the bullpen!

    Wow!!!

I think Silva was handed a totally empty cupboard and has done wonders with what he was given. The change-up is finally part of the arsenal, he's not afraid to throw strikes early and the young arms looked more impressive then the seniors... Silva IMO, should be applauded for the job he's done.

  4. Wrong... flatwaterfan is sugar coating the season and not rationally seeing what others have. The players brought in by Erstad and Co. are simply better then what Anderson could bring in. Anderson and his arrogant, weasel like expressions and dishonest character left this team talentless.. I respect the seniors for coming back and trying but I will not pat them on the back and tell them lies. Chad is at best a AAA ball player (probably a AA tops). None of the senior pitching staff has even a chance in H3LL of seeing AA let alone AAA ball. There was a reason the writers and coaches had this team picked 4th to begin the season. They "KNEW" our talent sucked.

Saying goodbye, good riddens and good luck at the next level suggests they have a chance at the next level. THEY DON'T!!!

Husker's win Kubat's start and lose the rest... No Heart, No Talent, No desire, No focus and definetely, no hope of advancing so do us all the favor and end the season watching from the sidelines. Once the season ends it opens up room for young players that hopefully, if nothing else, have heart.

  5. All the apologist here make me laugh while at the same time frustrate the h3ll out of me. The fact is this. We aren't the worst team in the B1G but we ARE the modt pathetic. Why? Because this team has a fan base that cares. A fan base that will support through all the ups and downs. A fan base that shows up in horrid conditions to give support and this team gives nothing back. Are you flippin kidding me? We won one... that's right JUST ONE home series in the BIG...... JUST FLIPPIN 1. If that's not pathetic with the fan support given then maybe I need to reconsider what the sporting definition of pathetic is. WE WON ONLY 1 FREAKING HOME SERIES (Northwestern). Good riddens seniors... Take your losing is acceptable attitudes with you when you leave... Who here thinks we can win 4 games in the tourney? I predict we win 1 (kubat's start) is it. These seniors don't care and really don't want to win.... let them punch their tickets and move on. Hopefully with their LOSING attitudes so Erstad and Co can start rebuilding with winners.

  6. I'm going to save myself the heartache and demoralizing humility of watching the sker's give another game away and instead go to a movie with my kids... No doubt in my mind at all that we lose this series "tonight"... They don't have any heart and even less confidence then the fans do. Staff will give up 9 runs again tonight and Michigan will throw some nobody tomorrow and give us the win.

    LOL.

Probably a good thing you didnt watch. With a 9-2 lead to start the 8th, we walked(?) the bases loaded and then proceeded to give up a grand slam to make it 9-6. haha. Luckily we held on thought.

The funny part is that I turned the tv on just before the grand slam... it happened and I shut boob tube off. Lol

  8. Darby to lead off:

    foul, 2-2

    foul, 2-2 (5 pitches total)

    foul, (6 pitches)

ground ball out (7 pitches) acceptable at bat by Darby

    Peters batting:

    1st pitch strike

    2nd pitch strike (swinging)

    ball, 1-2

    ball, 2-2

    pop-up, (5 pitches)

    Lubach up:

    1st pitch ball

ground ball hit, first of the game

    Sang up:

    1st pitch strike

Better plate discipline, did produce a hit but this is sad... Seniors not doing their part.
