  1. TMart at slot who plays QB, then the 20+ receivers you do have why not use one of them.

That'something that's gotta be on the coaches doesn't it? I mean he's not kidding go to our roster and look how many WR we have and then look at all the ones that don't play, I know you can only field a certain amount at a time but how is there not more depth and talent there with all these kids that are young athletes brought to a FBS program like NU to play WR, it's shocking that we haven't seen more from a lot of these guys that have been in the program the last 2-3 years.

  2. Why would Chris Peterson leave Boise? Dirk Koetter put Boise back on the map. He left for Arizona State, and he was fired after six years. In comes Dan Hawkins. Hawkins won the WAC every year except his first year. He leaves for Colorado, and he is fired after his fifth season. Three times a charm? Peterson nearly makes Pelini money already at Boise. What incentive would there be for him to leave and potentially get fired some five or six years later? Considering how the previous two coaches to leave Boise turned out, why would we even want him?

If we were to go after a top coach at the lower ranks, I'd have to choose Ron Roberts of Delta State. He's a defensive minded coach. Plus, his team runs the spread. For the talent we've recruited, I think he could fit in rather well.

I would argue that we have a better program than either ASU or Colorado and can outperform whatever those schools did, and Peterson has become much more known nationally and higher regarded than them while at Boise and led his team to multiple BCS wins which would be something he can sell to recruits and bring to NU.

  3. I actually think we'd be better off if we were smaller and more athletic, given the type of offense we're trying to run...

    1995 Nebraska offensive line:

    C Aaron Graham 6'4" 285 lbs

OG Steve Ott 6'4" 275 lbs

OG Aaron Taylor 6'1" 295 lbs

OT Eric Anderson 6'4" 290 lbs

OT Chris Dishman 6'2" 300 lbs

Yea these guys were smaller but my goodness did they have ridiculous strength and they got after those defenses.

  4. Great article and when it mentioned Scott being ivovled with all these guys Bill Walsh. Tom Osborne. Bill Parcells. Monte Kiffin. Bill Belichick. Mike Tomlin. Raheem Morris. Chip Kelly throughout his playing and coaching days shows he has been around guys that know how to run a successful team and I believe he feels like he has the ability to be a great coach himself, did I mention he can recruit?

  5. Idk Frost seems like he'd be more of a QB's coach and make Watson OC only not QB coach, someone to be down on the field to work with the QB's when they come off the field, Watson is always up the box so he can't really coach em up quick one on one on the sideline which the past couple of years I think our QB's really needed someone that a had a feel for the game on the sideline that could coach them up.

QB coach? I think he coached LB's at northern iowa or somesuch sort of place, and wr at oregon. not sure what else he has done where else. Played safety in the NFL and runningback in college :P

He's was a QB in college and you don't think he'd know anything about coaching QB's or what it takes to be a QB huh?

  6. I know, boring subject, not gonna happen etc. But I would hope like no other that Gilmore is not returning for next season. Given the fact that Frost is one of the only WR coaches that has come up as a replacement does anyone think that Bo is just waiting until they are done w/ their game? Am I just dreaming that Gilmore is going somewhere else?

U do bring up a very interesting point, if there's a guy out there we're interested in but his team is still in season we want to wait until that season is over then begin discussion about coaching changes.

  7. 8. I have a good friend that's an Iowa fan and he's told me the exact same thing that Wisconsin has the worst fans, so after hearing all this about Wisconsin I will def understand what we're getting into better when dealing with them in the future.

  9. Brion Carnes should be named the starting QB by the end of spring practices. When you watch that film it's hard to argue there's any other QB on our roster that can do the things Carnes does with his feet and his arm.

  10. A true heisman candidate and a legitimate QB doesn't get pulled from a game multiple times during the season and have a nervous breakdown everytime he's in the pocket, save me the stats show me his stats after the mizzou game don't care if he got hurt he was horrible and shouldn't have been on the field, Taylor is not a true QB, he's a player that's really fast and can somewhat throw.

  11. Bo doesn't need to go anywhere right now, but he needs to quit hiding behind the we didn't execute excuse and start winning the games that we shouldn't be losing, and quit trying to get past every question the media asked him because I think from our perspective as fans he hasn't gotten to that point, you know why Nick Saban can do that he won a NC as a head coach, Bo needs to realize yes he proved something to LSU but now it's time to prove something to Nebraska, a new start in the Big 10 could be just what he needs but he needs to make the changes that needs to be made, I'm talking about coaching changes, if he cares about this job and about Nebraska being back and here to stay then he has to make the tough calls and make the moves that will get this program going. Bo has a chance to be a great coach but he needs to make a huge step next year or real questions about his abilities as a HC will be heard louder than ever. GBR

  12. I really don't understand why so many people are trying to defend Taylor Martinez, his performance last night is not that of a division one QB, T-Panic looks for his first read and if it's not there he just stands in the pocket and gets sacked or rolls out and at the last second for some reason would flip the ball into the air, the riskiest play I've ever seen, I'm sorry but that's not a FBS QB, they can read a defenses and make average throws that we can't.
