Pelini would have had a MUCH bigger job if it wasn't for the way his buyout with Nebraska was structured.

Are you suggesting that Pelini would have gotten a P5 job but the fact his buyout from NU would have been reduced kept him from taking the position?

If this was true I would lose ALL respect I have for Pelini as a person. And it would remove any lingering doubt I have that we were right to fire him; not because it would be unethical but because (if true) he obviously doesn't have the drive to be the best.

By stronger - I don't mean that they have SEC/Big 10 type teams.  I meant they were on the verge of collapse and they found a way to reinvent themselves even after Texas and OU decided to leave. They got stronger and the Pac 12 collapsed.

The Big 12 is stable because nobody wants the teams that are there.  It is a second tier conference. As soon as someone figures out how to get around the ACC GoR  the SEC/B1G will pick up all the valuable teams from that conference and there will be 2 power conferences.  Either the ACC or the B12 will raid the other conference of the remaining okay teams and the other conference will go the way of the PAC.  There will be the Power 2, a Group of 5, and the ACC/B12 somewhere between those 2.

Yeah I get it,  Colorado is undersized and we are in rebuild mode,  but if Rhules trend in his college stops continues (2 wins, 3 or 4 ) I don't know about you all but I want one of those wins to be the buffs. My hatred for them runs deep.

Same.  Teams I most want us to beat this year, in order: buffs, iowa, Gophers.

  4. His argument doesn't make sense.  There probably will be financial penalties for athletes transferring.  If you are getting NIL money by a local booster business, they will drop you for leaving.  You can bet those TX linemen getting $50k or whatever will lose that money if they transfer out.

Also, a letter of intent was always a 1 year deal, at least from the school's side.  If you didn't pan out they cut you.  It's how the SEC oversigns.  Now the athletes are as committed to the school as the school is to them.

If you want to stop calling them student athletes, that's ok.  Let's call them employees.  Employees are allowed to leave their jobs when they want to.

  5. Other than the outcome, my family and I had a great time. Went to MOA on Friday wearing a Husker jacket and got several "enjoy your stay"'s. The Gopher fans in our section were very polite towards us. I like your stadium, very nice. Like I said, we had a great time and will definitely come again in 2 years.
