  1. There is no doubt the :01 is motivational for Texas and Texas only. But as far as the word "Finish".

I would say it's a good choice.. Anybody remember Va Tech?? What happens if Niles and a couple of others finish a play or two against the Cyclones???? Just saying, can't be the worst motivator, and if it helps one iota I'm all for it..

Absolutely not. How can you be so quick to tell us what is on the players' minds? As much is it hurts us, we can't even begin to imagine how much is must suck for the players. Not just Texas. Virginia Tech, ISU. The :01 was a sickly ironic culmination of everything wrong with last year's season. You have to look a step further than the obvious. If it was intended for Texas only it would be burnt orange with a longhorn on saying "beat Texas 00:01."

Of all the things that pissed off our players and give them motivation, don't you think that one thing is probably at the top of the list? It symbolizes everything, not just wanted to get back at Texas.

Did you read my post? I can't find the part about saying "what is on our players minds." And then it seems to me you go on to say the same thing.

If one were to read something into this it could be. Why 2 bracelets? If the motivational factor is for Texas only it could all be said on one bracelet. Just like you said "top of the list". Damn bro, it sure looks like we are sayin' the same thing...

  2. For one thing Gabbert should think about keeping his mouth shut when it comes to Husker comments. I really don't recall a qb de-commit having a great amount of success against us. Freeman ring a bell??? Both Gabberts should be ecstatic that we're headed to the Big Ten.

As for the rest of Missouri. They have to be fairly red in the face for being out snookered for the Big Ten invite... And besides who cares. I hope their arse whoppin' is in the Nebraska sunshine this year...

  4. Hopes to make an official visit for the Texas game.

We might have 75 recruits in for this game! :rollin:ahhhhhhhh:corndance

No, the B12-2 will make sure it's a morning game to reduce the number of recruits that can visit.

I would imagine that TV will have more input than the Big12-2. Thank God!!!

  5. I went to Braylon's facebook yesterday and Josh Peterson originally from Lincoln, asked if Braylon was still planning on being a Husker. No response as yet.

Seriously, this is flat out creepy IMO. I would not respond at all if I were Braylon. I don't even know why they accept these friend requests.

I dunno anything about this Peterson kid. Maybe they met at a camp or something. It was kinda funny cause I just thought I'd check his facebook and that had just been posted.

  6. For one thing I believe that the O-line will be healthy(I hope)and deep this year. I see quite a bit of piling on Barney and Wats for last year. After seeing all the injuries up front last season. I give Barney a lot of credit. Never heard him bitch or make excuses once last year.

I guess I'm trying to say with a healthy deep O-line the qb's will have more time, Helusuarus Rex will have bigger holes and Wats can open up the play book. Once the safties start creepin' up Niles will burn em. over the top.

I would set the overs and unders on Pauls yds at 1100.

  7. im kinda surprised that k state was posted below colorado and ku and iowa state! i know they suck but seriously! idk iho i think they will surprise alot of people and end up 2nd or 3rd in the north behind NU and maybe mizzou

I was thinking the same thing. do people forget that they almost won the north, in snyders first year? I think K-State will do better than people think.

Yea who wouldve thought that after they lost La-Lafeyette. The thing about Snyders teams is that they always play better in the back half of season. If they had some defense they wouldve beat OU and NU last year. I think they have a shot at 3rd in the north this year. Snyder gets every bit of talent and heart out of his boys.

Some would argue the reason they play better at the back end of the season is that they could hardly play worse!

True if not for the pesky fact that their schedule is harder after the non-con games.

Bugs Bunny can coach. Doesn't he look like Bugs though.

  8. this may happen. I hope so,but i was talking to some buddys back home over the weekend and if the big12 stays at 10 i dont know how likely it is to happen. Maybe with MU or most likely with OU or TX...someone like that. I just have a hard time seeing KU or lesser teams do this though. KU would have 9 conference games. Playing all 6 of the south teams. At this time I think we could all say they are worse than 5 of those south 6. Maybe even all six. They will have just 3 remaining north teams but are right now in a worse spot than atleast 2 if not all three. So lets say KU can only win 3 of 9 confernce games(this maybe on the high side), that means they have to run the table in non-con just to make a bowl. If they win less than 3 they have no chance at a bowl. I have a real hard time seeing KU or KSU going with 10 BCS conference teams out of 12 on their schedule. Maybe MU because they currently schedule in a pattern that includes atleast on major conference non-con game. But I even have doubt that it would happpen. I believe we are more likely to see some scrub teams like we do now, minus that one good game.

we can all hope for it, i just dont know how likely it is.

Remember, Turner Gill is now at KU. If Mangino can get 10 win seasons well need I say more.

One of the reasons I love this Big Ten deal is now I can cheer for Turner year round.

  9. Well, my son played football from midget through high school. Started out playing all sports but slowly started dropping out of them one by one and football stuck. Never an injury. Then towards the end of his HS days he tore his ACL playing frisbee. Now it's time for a Grandbaby,(Oct. :corndance ). He says football will be a requirement. I still think it's best to get em into soccer, b-ball, baseball, track, and yes football, and they'll figure it out.

My ex is not a sports person at all an used to complain about all the runnin' we did for sports. But I will tell ya one thing I always, for the most part know where he was at. Not to mention it was a good hammer to have to push for good grades. I always said I'd rather be runnin' to practice and games than to detention hall.

  10. Northwestern calls themselves NU. I have no problem saying 'The 'N' ", or tNU or whatever. Just being neighborly is all.

A bigger question is what are we going to do about Indiana calling themselves the 'Big Red'?

Yup, I've heard this on Big Ten Fever. tNU is a good one. :thumbs As far as Indiana, just drown em' out.
