Have 2 signing periods, one at the end of their Junior year and keep the one on Feb 4th. If a kid commits to a school during the first period, the kid and the school are bound to that unless certain circumstances occur ( coaching change, probation, ect). If the kid decides to leave after the first signing period, they will lose a year of eligibility. If the school breaks the commitment after the first one, they will lose that scholarship for 2 years. This would make both the kids and the schools really focus on who they want instead of throwing out offers and pressuring kids into decisions.

    I agree completely.......BUT........

    Too logical.

The alphabetic nitwits in charge would never consider it.

I agree it wouldn't even be approved. But Id also like to see that be added upon such as.

    1. The school can not offer more kids then what they can take in.

    2. If a kid is committed. They can not be recruited by another school. Unless they contact that school first and cleared through the NCAA.

    3. Official visits can only happen before or after the football season. Allowing the student to stay focused on his current team and grades.

    4. All commitments and offers also decommits must go through the NCAA.

Congrats Tom. Hard to say anyone has ever done it better as a quarterback than that guy. Of course it helps having elite coaches and supporting cast, but the dude is just too good.

    Joe Montana says "Hi"

I grew up with my first words being 'Go Joe' according to my mom, as a huge 49ers fan, but there's nothing that Joe has done that Tom hasn't done and possibly surpassed, at least numbers wise.

    4-0

Eh. I don't know how you could argue one way or the other that a better winning percentage int he Super Bowl is obviously better than a worse percentage but getting there two more times.

Montana went 4-0 in the Super Bowl and never threw an INT and didn't have to rely on a kicker to help win him a ring too. Brady is a hell of a QB and I would want him as the Bears QB but its not even close debating these two.

See, I'd have to take Brady from what I've seen and read, etc... Brady shouldn't get knocked for being to more Super Bowls even if he lost them. 4-2, is better than 4-0 in this case, because getting to the SB and losing is a better season than not getting there.... Montana also had an astronomically better supporting cast around him.... Yeah, give me Brady

This is almost an apple to oranges type comparison. Both qb's are great and would be loved by any franchise. But the style of play is drastically different in the NFL. When Joe played the defenses were not hampered as much as they are today. But unlike then the talent today is far more even across the entire NFL. It's not just dominated by the NFC like when Joe played making a 4-0 record in the Superbowl easier. So i'd give the nod to Brady with a 4-2 record as today any team can win. Well except for my Raiders as lets face it, thats where careers go to die currently.

  3. i read all of this and wasn't aware of any or even who was banned. But I do want to file my own complaints. I'm submitting this for ever member on this board. Well except Knapplc, with his knowledge and access to facilities I swear he is Tom Osborne. But anyway I always thought I was very smart when it came to football and the Huskers. After joining here I have realized I don't know squat about either. So now I feel humiliated and have ruined football for me.....Thanks Huskerboard

just for incase yes I'm being sarcastic.

  4. Harry: What's her last name? I'll look it up.
Lloyd: You know, I don't really recall. Starts with an S! Let's see. Swim? Swammi? Slippy? Slappy? Swenson? Swanson?
Harry: Maybe it's on the briefcase.
Lloyd: Oh, yeah! It's right here.
[He reads the manufacturer's name, which is Samsonite]
Lloyd: Samsonite! I was way off! I knew it started with an S, though.

If you can forgive how Hollywood can't portray how the military truly works. Then i'm sure you'd like the movie. But if you've been in the service and like things portrayed correctly. I'd wait till it's out in redbox. So you don't waste as much money renting it if you didn't like it.

I haven't been, which is why it's always great to hear opinions and read the insights from those of you who have. A thousand little things I would probably never have noticed. Generally I'm quite forgiving of Hollywood, I guess. I mean, I watched 300 in theaters, though I'm not much of a theater goer anymore.

Then i'd encourage you to go. It's a good story and movie is well done. The only complaints is the inaccuracy ive seen is by those in the military. Then some in the media who took his quotes out of context. When I went the theater was packed so go early for good seats.

Wildman, do you buy anything online? I was thinking about buying my juices online but didn't know what site would be the best to do so.

no I don't buy online at all. I'm just to paranoid about that. So I'll use it for research, then go support the local business.

That is basically all that I have ever done with online stuff. I do buy my cartos online mainly because they are cheaper. I bought a vamo vv/vw from ebay last year, it lasted for about 2 months. I just need to expand my juice flavors, the only one I like is the GNS Beetlejuice

GNS has some great juice. Because I have friends that work at the North Store that is where i mainly go. I've also tried some of Big Red Vapors juice and I like theres as well. Lincoln Vapor does carry some of the online "premium" juices such as suicide bunnies and others. Which i have tried, they are good. But are more expensive than local made juice.

I think they are the lamest things I have ever seen...

Why? I don't smoke and I would never use one of these things, but they're brilliant. You get your nicotine fix without the tar & chemicals inherent in cigarettes. It's overall healthier, it takes money away from a bad lobby in Washington & it helps people.

I think these things are among the best inventions in the past 25 years.

I just meant the way they look...they just look lame.

But again, I wish I would have dropped 25K into one of the E-cigs places by my house...I hate myself for missing out on that.

I disagree with the lame look. But thats because I have ecigs lol

I wish I had the money to start up one of these as well. Or at least a juice line. For a 30 ml bottle of juice with nicotine will cost just over $5 to make. But stores sell it for about $20 depending on where you go. Thats a hell of a profit.

  8. Haven't seen the movie yet, but wouldn't mind seeing it. I myself would never expect the movie to be exactly like the real stuff that went on in Iraq.

I am sure there was than enough real action for those that were deployed, I just mean that they are probably condensing a lot of it into shorter time frames and changing things to even make it more dramatic.

I think the problem is more who we were fighting in Iraq and even in Afghanistan. The enemy was faceless for the most part. When rolling around the city you couldn't tell who the enemy was in most cases cause they looked like everyone else. A lot of the attacks were ied's that were remote detonated by someone hiding in public. Unless an ambush happened. Or you were with infantry doing door to door sweeps. Odds are you never seen the enemy at all or at least would recognize one. So they are having to create these inaccurate scenes and or bad guys for the audience to recognize who to hate and root against. Unlike other movies such as We Were Soldiers and Pearl Harbor. The enemy was an obvious one. They stood out amongst the locals. So Hollywood could be more accurate with the story.

  9. There aren't too many movie trailers I see that make me want to go see a movie right away (OK, maybe there are) but this was one of them. I haven't seen it yet, though, and with the mixed reviews don't know if I will. I'm a fan of Bradley Cooper, though.

Amazing insight darkhorse. I also have to admit, I really liked Hurt Locker. I hear what you are saying about the sniper team bit and the ending.

If you can forgive how Hollywood can't portray how the military truly works. Then i'm sure you'd like the movie. But if you've been in the service and like things portrayed correctly. I'd wait till it's out in redbox. So you don't waste as much money renting it if you didn't like it.

  10. Yea I can see how it looked like rolling out with by themselves. The EOD missions i've seen if they were reacting to something a convoy or ground troops found. They would roll out with just 2 other security humvees for 3 vehicles total. So in my mind I just assumed that they were there. The operational stuff i agree with. But didn't bother me as Hollywood would never get it right anyway. I agree with Jeremy Renner's character 100%

  11. why the hate on hurt locker? I was with EOD my last tour. Thought it showed very well the stress and pressure those guys are under. When they are called out to go take care of an explosive. The only thing I wish they would of change is showing him leaving the fob. No soldier in their right mind would ever leave by themselfs to search for the child who was selling dvd's.

  12. Went to see the movie on Sunday and my wife was asking me questions about it afterward. I remembered I had a picture I took of Chris Kyle while in Fallujah in November of 2004.

Not the best quality. Scanner is on the fritz so I took a picture of the photo with my phone.

Thank you for your service Darkhorse

I almost ended up in Falujah myself. I was with 1st AD in Green Zone during this. Our deployment ended in April 2004 being replaced by 1st Cav out of Texas. While they were taking over and we were packing up. We got the notice our tour got extended to head to Falujah. But instead 1st ID was stopped there on there way into country. We were sent to BIAP for a couple months.

Read a lot of the reports of what was going on there. Wish we would of been there to help out. Couldn't imagine how it truly was.

  13. I have a few different mods, rda's, tanks and rta's. The stores i go to is Big Red Vapor or GNS in Lincoln. My current go to is

    IPV3 and Kangertech Subtank

As for the harmful effects this has. May take a couple years to truly see how much safer this is. But out of the juice it's only made up of 2-5 ingredients. The main two are VG and PG. Both have been studied for years and are used in foods are additives. A good review of the studies can be found here. Both can cause problems at high doses. PG can make you dehydrated while VG can make you dizzy, nauseated or vomiting. The other ingredients is candy flavoring, nicotine, water is sometimes use to dilute vg as it is a think liquid. 4 out of the 5 are relatively harmless. Nicotine is the only issue in the liquid and not everyone uses it.

One study I want to see done if it hasn't been already. Is with the wire used to heat up the liquid and cotton used to absorb the liquid. I'm curious if the liquid itself can break down the cotton and metal. If so are we inhaling this, could it be harmful. If theres going to be any effects from vaping. I bet that is where it would come from.

  14. BRB sorry to hear what happened. But glad to hear your son is ok.

I wonder if this is the same State Trooper that tried to give my brother a ticket for txting and driving on a parked bike. Yes you read that correctly. We were going to the race track that afternoon. I was in my truck and brother and his gf took his motorcycle. Before leaving Lincoln she needed to go to the bank so we stopped. He was sitting on his motorcycle helmet off, key in his pocket and phone in his hand. I'm standing next to him. The trooper pulls up behind us, gets out of his car and asks him. Do you know why I pulled you over. I looked at the officer with a da fuq look. My brother asked him to repeat what he said. So the trooper asked him again do you know why I pulled you over. We started laughing. My brother asked, ummmmm when did you pull us over exactly. He responded I pulled you over for txting and driving. I instantly called the local police to report the incident. As I'm on the phone the trooper gave him a warning and left.

  15. It's possible that a couple of players did this because they didn't respect Bo. But it's also possible that they thought this would avenge Bo in the public eye for them. There's some deprogramming that has to happen on this team.

oh most definitely. Especially with the attitude of everyone, fans included are against us. Of course all of the twitter bashing after the Wisconsin game didn't help prove that wrong.

  16.

Living in East TN, I hear a lot of Vol fans asking why/how NU could fire a 9-3 coach and one with over a 70% win rate... That changed when they heard Bo's rant that one of the players must have recorded and gave to the press.

After listening to the leaked audio. My brother thought it was funny. Also that it was the teams way to get under the skin of Eichorst. My parents however thought the team doesn't respect Bo. As there would be no other reason to release the audio. Especially since they knew how it would reflect on him. Which to me kinda makes sense. Did anyone else think the same thing?
