  1. Pennsylvania really isn't that much further away than Texas...just saying

Happy Valley is almost 400 miles further than Austin. It takes over 6 hours longer to drive because the speed limits in states to the East absolutely blow. Plus, where would you rather road trip in November: Happy Valley, PA or Austin, TX? I know I'd much rather bask in the sun in Texas rather than freeze my nuts off in Pennsylvania.

HAHAHA. Yea well I guess that's ture. Yes Texas is warmer then Pennsylvania, but most often the temps during the fall are pleasent and are pretty comparable to the temps in Nebraska.

    For the Glory.

I have been to a game in Nebraska where the snow plows had to remove snow every quarter because it was snowing so hard that no one could see the yard markers or field. I've never heard of this kind of weather in Austin, TX. However, I have been to Pennsylvania and witnessed similar weather nearly getting stranded there because of snow. All jokes aside, if I have to travel over 1000 miles to go to a game I'd prefer we joined the Pac 10 where at least the weather is nice. Recruiting alone, the West Coast is much better than the Rustbelt. I'd venture to guess if we join the Big 10 that Nebraska and Penn State probably wouldn't play one another any more than once every 2-4 years.

Junior Junior Junior where is the love? You keep comming across as a bitter man "All jokes aside" do you keep a pic of obama above your bed?

  2. I'm guessing Penn State fans would also love to get a rivalry going considering the snub back in 1994.

Nice Try my friend. You remind me of a Democrat. In reply to your statement..... well perhaps some might. But we have 5 other times we have undefeated seasons under Joe Pa with no national championship. Were used to getting screwed. Welcome to the world of college football.

  3. This is a look at the extraordinary scene that is created when Nebraska and Penn State meet up on the gridiron.

Did you know that the most people ever to watch a game in Beaver Stadium was on September 14th, 2002 when Nebraska came to town. It was the highest request ever for tickets in Penn State History. The record crowd that day was 110,753. Fact Check Here --- There was a higher demand for tickets that game than the game with Notre Dame in 2007.

Did you know Penn State has played Nebraska 13 times and the win loss record is almost even. Penn State has won 7 times to Nebraska's 6 times. However, Nebraska was the victor the last time both teams met. Fact Check

Did you know that one of the most memorable/controversal games in Penn State history came in 1982 when Tod Blackledge led the drive down the field to win the game in its' final moments. Many PSU Fans will sware he was in bounds while many Nebraska fans will say that he clearly was not. None the less, that moment is considered by many at Penn State to be one the greatest moments in the program's history. Thoughts about that game.

Some Pics from the past. Enjoy!!!

    PLUS Great Uniforms. Both Teams

  4. Glad to have you here werpsu. I'd love to see Nebraska playing PSU every year. Both schools have proud traditions and have/had legendary coaches. Both have great winning traditions and classic traditional uniforms. Both schools emphasize defense. Both have intensely loyal fan bases. Both have WAY above average game day experiences.

Two things I particularly like about PSU:

    1. JoePa. What a treasure for your school and fans. How can you not love Paterno when he does things like this?

    2. Your uniforms are beautiful. Don't you ever change them.

Hope we both get to see this matchup.

Thanks. We do love our uniforms. And like Nebraska, value tradition more than most schools.

  6. Hey werpsu, I have to say when all of this talk began my buddy and I were talking about who we would could most likely see as our "big game" every year. I don't like just labeling somebody a rival because I believe they have to develop, but you can surely identify "big games" that could someday develop that rivalry tag.

We said, and maybe it is a little arrogant, that it would have to be an upper-echelon team as we feel the tradition we have as a program is on par with anybody. Michigan has Ohio State and vice-versa so both of those were out immediately. Really, Penn State is the only other school on par with Nebraska in prestige and tradition. We had mentioned Wisconsin, but they haven't broken that National Championship barrier yet. We both decided on Penn State and the history of "The Non-Catch" in 1982 and the 1994 season could help build a little healthy "want-to" when it comes to beating the other every year.

Anyway, welcome to the board kind sir. I don't think you will get too much negative commentary from Husker fans on this board as I believe most truly respect Penn State.

Thank you for your thoughts. I can understand the IOWA Nebraska case completely but I agree with your thoughts as well. Two great universities that are prized and honored for tradition, going head to head each year. WoW!!!!!!! with Nebraska, Michigan, & Ohio State on a schedule, what more could one want out of a season of football besides a national championship of course. Thanks Again. For The Glory.

  7. Thanks everyone. I look forward to stopping by from time to time. If I had to pic just one team of all the teams being mentioned, Nebraska would be one of the teams at the top. Another team I would love to see join, while I don't respect them as much asNebraska, is Pitt. It's a Pennsylvania thing. anyway if the conference thinks of adding three like many people are saying, I am hoping for Nebraska, ShPit, and Maryland or Missouri.

  8. With all the big ten expansion talk, I do hope that Nebraska be one of the new teams to join the Big Ten. Even though we are seperated by a boat load of miles, Penn State is in need of a yearly rival and playing a great team like Nebraska each year would be out of this world. Want to hear what your thoughts are.
