The rule you posted doesn't apply as the guy was not defenseless. The rule I posted actually applies, and is what they use to base these types of decisions. You've got a great video of a block from Frost that doesn't support your argument, but rather supports mine because it shows to how to make a block without initiating helmet to helmet contact. The other of those two doesn't apply as both players were changing body position in preparation for a hit, which is stated as legal if helmet to helmet contact occurs.

 

Your wonderful logic continues with showing a video of a ref looking in the direction of the incident and not throwing a flag. You then jump to the assumption that the ref actually saw the incident (a good assumption) and that since a flag was not thrown, the play was legal. But you're ignoring the fact that illegal plays happen all the time in the game, even right in front of the refs, and they're not seen. Furthermore, the angle of that video does not show the helmet to helmet contact, so the ref very well could have seen it as perfectly legal. In fact, if I saw it from that angle, I'd agree. But we have the benefit of other angles, like the one posted towards the start of this thread.

 

In short, you've really posted nothing that supports your claim beyond "a flag wasn't thrown so it was fine". Good going, that's not proof of anything other than you being in denial.

Well the statistics from our 4 losses last year sure make it look like he wasn't helping us win. I realize the ISU game had a bunch of fluke fumbles but still that statistics are crazy.

Im not say Lee is the only reason we lost but he was a major part of it.

I think Zac played pretty admirably given the situation he was put in. He was throwing the ball well and making greats reads on the zone read game. It's not his fault the receivers can't catch a cold. I had a feeling that if Taylor was in a hole and we needed to pass the ball, that Zac may come in at some point to provide a spark. It's pretty obvious that Martinez is far from a finished product and he may have a couple more games like this this season. It's good to know Zac is there and can respond if necessary. Martinez is incredibly talented, but did not have it today. Hats off to Muschamp for designing a great game plan, and shame on the Husker receivers for making more drops than receptions, 3 of which were TD's. I think this is the best team the Huskers will play until December/January, and that this will make the team better. This is going to be a very wild season, I believe.

We are trying to win right? If he gets plowed thats part of the game, trust me he isn't worried about getting plowed he wants to win. No one on that team thinks they have a better chance at winning with Zac over T-majic so dont pull him period. you win and lose with the starting QB because he gives you the best chance at winning. I've been a HUGE fan of husker football for a long time and this is just insane!!! Bo and Wats will have a lot of explaining to do after this one.

It wasnt dumb.... Lee looked more comfortable out their than Martinez. Lee help the offense move the ball and actually got some positive yards when kept the ball in run. Lee help put us a position to get back in the game.

And more importantly, which part is untrue? Who here thinks that Iowa, Alabama, Ohio State, or even Oklahoma is going to have any problem handling Taylor?

 

I picked the wrong metaphor, yes, because it conveys character traits Taylor doesn't have, but the facts are he's a redshirt frehsman who has made some pretty sloppy reads and got dominated in the run game by a defense with speed. Which, by the way, in itself wouldn't be bad except it happened once before already.

 

I get the sense reality hasn't totally seeped in for everyone. Taylor isn't GREAT. He's not great YET. He may get that way, but this is his first big game, his first loss in college, and his first season ever under this much pressure. That's a lot to ask of someone of his age and experience.

Look at some QB rushing stats or maybe QB rushing TD's come on man. O I guess the national media SI, CFN all the big dogs are wrong including vegas with a +10 for nu with T-magic are wrong they all think that Iowa, Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma are going to stop T-magjic.
