  1. Urban Meyer will either retire at Ohio State or decide at some point to give the NFL a try.  I think Frost is the next and upcoming coach in the country and I hope Nebraska will be patient as he will need time to get his system and his recruits into place.  Winning in a power 5 conference is a lot different than winning in a non-power 5 conference...you just don't have the week to week grind.

With that said, both Nick Saban and Urban Meyer both started in the MAC (non-power conference) and look where they are today.  Frost will one day get to their levels.  Grand Slam hire for Nebraska and I am happy to have him in the Big 10 - it just makes the conference stronger.

    Well done, Nebraska! :cheers

  2. Excel,

I hope it will be a good one.  I hope Haskins gets to play.  As for the Schiano fiasco, I'm PO'ed that hearsay could create issues for the team and hopefully, Schiano keeps focused and the team.  Urban is always focused and I feel we will be ready.   My concern is not whether they will be ready or focused, my concern is whether or not our young secondary can stop the big plays and hopefully we can stop your tough run game as well.

  3.  Excel,

I am more than worried about this game.  I would be happy to win by 1-point.  As for Haskins, I feel we have more upside with him at QB, he can spread the field where Barrett hesitates too long, and telegraphs passes too much as well.  Our defense is boom or bust as well.  Here is to a great game, as Wisky always gives us problems.

I doubt he's seriously interested in Oregon State.

Yeah, I am still thinking that Les is really interested in the Nebraska.  I am still thinking Frost is not coming to Lincoln.  I would love to see this happen for Nebraska fans, but Les is a great recruiter and knows the midwest if Frost does not happen. Nebraska would be very competitive again under Les and he is a pretty high profile name.

What is one of the great things about college football is the tradition, rivalries, pageantry, history, etc. and that is what I miss about the Big 12. I don't necessarily miss being in that conference, but I do miss the history that came with Nebraska being in the Big 12/8. We are still too new in the B1G that I don't get the same inclusion with the conference as I did with the Big12. But I understand as years go on, season after season, tradition starts to build and Nebraska starts to be more involved within the historical story of the Big Ten Conference.

Right now the only team I feel we have any sort of rivalry with is Wisconsin. It feels Nebraska is isolated from much of the conference and I still forget that Maryland and Rutgers are in the Big Ten. All this will become more natural with time and eventually, years from now, the Big Ten will feel like home for Nebraska.

    This is really well said!

  6. Our defense was god awful horrendous this year. We couldn't stop a grandma in a wheel chair. This was not the year for an NC appearance because of the defense. I was very happy for Nebraska an Michigan State winning their bowls!

  7. I too would like to add my congrats! You played well and beat a solid Georgia Team. More importably, you beat an SEC team. Way to represent the B1G! I just hope our defense can hold up and provide a win for us and the conference tonight. Congrats again! :cheers You deserved the recognition.

  8. If we had a secondary in our defense this year, we would've been dominating like Florida State. I hope the B1G gets back to the relevancy they once had. It is going to take good recruiting….period! With that said, I feel no conference this year was completely dominate and there was more parity than the previous few years.

  9. Yeah, I guess the difference is with OSU ineligible for bowls, no one really noticed their weak schedule.

ND was a missed chipshot against Pitt away from not being in the BCS game.

Sadly, I do agree with this. The sad part is, next year our schedule will be even weaker...no Nebraska or Michigan State on it.
