  1. The program has changed under Riley. These guys are showing up every week, fixing things that need fixing, and adjusting during games. They haven't shown any signs of collapse really since 2014 when the team always seemed so fragile.

There are no guarantees as we could lose to anyone, but I think we'll at most lose one of the two games to Wisconsin or Ohio State. I think if we lose to Wisconsin we'll beat OSU the next week (unless we have a ton of injuries). Iowa and Minny could beat us, as could Maryland, but I don't think they will.

So I think 11-1 and a CCG appearance, hopefully against Michigan, is on the menu.

    Down for this.

I'm referring to the same 'these people' that you are - the people chanting that they want dead cops. What is their affiliation with Black Lives Matter?

    Well?
Do they have to officially sign up somewhere, or does the BLM sign they're holding count? Does BLM release their membership statistics? Playing ignorant doesn't help anything or anyone - just as some of those, on the other side of the argument, are playing ignorant in the chat on MRI in the football forum.

I've marched alongside BLM. They don't do that. That's a Fox News thing to keep mid-western white people afraid and watching.

In any protest there will be people that fall into your group, that are not part of your group, that have their own agendas.

Oh here we go again...let's blame a right-wing conspiracy on everything...straight out of Hillary's playbook. Just this week a BLM group attacked a Trump supporter, and that has happened many times.

Just out of curiosity, how old are you?

  3. Malik Lovette isn't with Oregon anymore. He transferred to TAMU. Not sure why they had him as a starter at CB, he came in as a receiver and they JUST moved him. Ugo Amadi or Chris Seisay will play that position and they both played a ton last year. Would be a much higher ranking than Lovette.

Also, the Dwayne Stanford/Pharoah Brown ranking is RIDICULOUSLY low. Brown I understand is coming off injury but was/is an all american type TE. That was a general consensus prior to his injury.

Stanford is a 3rd year starter and has more receiving yards than B Reilly. This disparage between the 2 is dumb. I'm not arguing with the numbers they have on NU guys but they seriously messed up on Oregon's. Pretty badly. Specifically these two and Reggie Daniels, Tyree Robinson, and Pisarcik.

Also having Dylan Utter at a 92 is the most laughable mess up in this ranking system (I wasn't gunna argue an NU player but he's the only one that's way off)

Now go on and tell me I'm being biased.

    I'd say you're being biased.

  4. I love having NU in the B1G. I've said it before, but i feel like the cure for any Nebraska fans wistful of the Big 12 is just winning. If NU wins a conference title or two and can talk some sh#t to the OSU, MSU and UM's of the world, the "fit" is going to feel perfectly snug.

It already feels like the bball program has grown significantly since the move.

  5. Have to admit, I'm not really a big fan with the way the athletic department decided to handle this. I, personally, don't give a sh#t about playing at Arkansas but it would have been an interesting match up to say the least. I loath ND. More than Michigan State for sure. I would have been fine not playing them ever again. That said, beating them is very, very rewarding but the real kink in this whole arrangement is that now in 2018 Michigan plays ND, MSU and OSU on the road and until there is some sort of schedule restructure that will be the case for the foreseeable future. Really, really awful considering that ND got the last home game of the series as well.

    TL;DR f#*k DAVE BRANDON

Look, the bottom line with these de-commit stories is that you get one side of the story. The staff is not allowed to discuss recruits and they probably wouldn't even if they could. Each of these kids are given strict guidelines when they commit about what work they need to put in and what goals they need to accomplish in order to stay committed. The one de-commit who has had negative things to say (Swenson) was a Hoke recruit who the Harbaugh staff never saw in person. They asked him to camp over the summer and he refused. His play over his senior season regressed and he did not meet the goals given to him by the staff. I do wish that instead of dropping hints like the staff was supposedly doing, they would have been a little bit more upfront in the fall. Swenson is going to have plenty of great options to land, but I'd still like to see that communication happen earlier.

I will say this. In the first full recruiting cycle for this staff they did a lot of crazy things (coaching clinics, satellite camps) that caused a lot of splash at first. However, I think the staff was disorganized in its approach and communication with some of these kids. Hopefully that improves going forward.

Also, all of you who think Harbaugh is gone after 2-4 years are delusional. It's wishful thinking and he's not leaving (if he ever does) until he's built something great.

I think this is a very reasonable post and you articulated it well.

How do you respond to those who believe that Harbaugh will move on.........simply because he wears out his welcome................??

(I have no opinion on this, but would like you to respond with more than... those who think this are........."delusional"...)

Okay, calling people "delusional" was an overreach on my part. I can definitely see where that sentiment comes from outside of the "closeness" of one's own program. I'm sure there are things about NU that people just "assume" without really knowing the program. It's why people call Urban sleezy and Dantonio heartless*.

Re: the Harbs tenure thing, though, the general narrative is that Harbaugh "wears out his welcome." The only place this is really evident (other than whispers from stanford message boards) is from his departure from the 49ers. Anyone who has watched the 49er front office this year should be able to realize where the real problem lied.

Harbaugh has literally come into a situation where he can't wear out his welcome if he is winning. As for the NFL whispers? That's fine. If he wants to go back to the NFL at some point that's fine, but I really think that everyone who is close to the program thinks he is in it for the (relative) long haul. It might be blind homerism or whatever, but I believe it too.

    *Dantonio literally is heartless
