  1. My take is that he ends up leaving the program or else just becomes irrelevant.

    He doesn't have the tools to run Riley's offense. He could barely run ours (see his completion % vs winning teams); let alone a pro style .

    The last interesting nugget is that Riley was interested in Stanton out of high school

    Will be interesting to see how a new coach sees the position considering Pelini was pretty well known for loyalty to starters despite how bad they played and/or who was behind them

  2. We will not get some one better or with HC experience. Write that down

    Huh? If Nebraska can't get someone better than Bo then we have major problems. Bo stabilized the program but came no where close to regaining the program to the top. We are barely a top 25 program let alone top 10 where we expect to be. No where in his recruiting, game management and game performance was there anywhere to expect anything different in the future.

  3. losses hurt the same.

    I disagree with this. Losing to USC the 2nd time hurt much more than the first time. Not only because it was a blowout, but because of the way the team finished the previous year(winning 9 games and making the Big 12 championship game - sound familiar?) increased the hype for the game as we thought we could pull off an upset since we were at home. Well we never recovered from that loss, beating Ball St by only 1 point and then failing to make a bowl game.

    I still feel the pain of that USC game. That was the most electric atmosphere that I have ever felt in Lincoln...I still can't believe that Callahan had killed our program to the point we couldn't even compete at home.

  4. I understand this is a very exciting time for us Husker fans. However, I've been reading a lot of posts about whipping Texass, making the Big 12 game and while that would be great to do, let's remember this is still a team that lost to Iowa St, Texas Tech, etc and we don't know if we have an improvement at the most critical position (QB) on our weakest side of the ball (offense).

    It wasn't too long ago that I remember listening to an afternoon sports show on 1400 in Lincoln during the summer and I heard the words "ONLY 53 DAYS UNTIL JOE DAILEY TAKES THE FIELD!!!!" That didn't turn out too well. Beware the hype. Take it game by game and enjoy the wins IF they come.

  5. I've created a detailed Spreadsheet detailing watsons career as oc. You will see the stat and next to it in () you will see the national rank for that stat. I've also color coded the spread sheet top 20 is blue, 21-40 is green 41-60 is yellow and 61< is red.

    here is tht link where I got my stats.

    His national number look better than his confrenace numbers however when you have that many statics it is very likely that some of them will fall out of the top 60 even in the best of years.

    you do need a gmail sign in to few the spread sheet since I used google to make it.

    Good info. It's sad to see there's only one year he was in top 20 in points scored...and a lot of red on the board as well. It's good to see the facts show what we already knew intuitively: that Watson is overrated.

  6. I don't care what the uniforms look like, as long as Obama isn't in one, holding one, or even looking at one. Everything he touches goes to hell in a hand basket.

    Yes, how could he possibly screw up the perfection that he inherited from the previous administration? :sarcasm

    :facepalm:

    Hmmm...I love how boneheaded previous administrations are the justification for boneheaded decisions of the current administration...which just so happen to reflect the agenda that he wants. How convenient. Bush is responsible for his decisions. Obama for his. Either way, the jersey's are ok with me as long as we don't look like Wisconsin ::shudders at the thought::

  7. I can see Bo's temper maybe playing a part in him wanting to do this. I also, however, think that Osbourne might be a bit pissed.

    Somehow I think Tom will be more than happy if we pile some points on people. He buried a few people in his day. However, this is probably an unrealistic expectation to put on the team. Let's just see if the offense can gel and move the ball consistently against good defenses and score touchdowns. In the regular season (approx. one week preparation) against BCS quality opponents our offense mustered:

    VT= 0 Touchdowns

    MZ= 4 Touchdowns

    TT= 1 Touchdown

    ISU= 1 Touchdown

    BAY= 1 Touchdown

    OU= 1 Touchdown

    KU= 3 Touchdowns

    KSU= 2 Touchdowns

    CU= 2 Touchdowns

    TX= 0 Touchdowns

    For the mathmatically challenged that is only 1.5 touchdowns per game. Hard to "run up the score" with that.
