Logan Rath, Noah Arenson, or Garret Johns are now fighting for a 2 deep spot at DT. Or of course we could move a severely undersized DE inside and have Jack Gangwish start at DE. Take your pick!

Williams wasn't even a starter, so why would we start moving people? If Collins or VV goes down, then we can start moving people.

So under your methodology, we should only have 24 players on scholarship. 11 on D. 11 on O. A kicker. A punter. If someone gets hurt, we can offer schollies to other kids, but lets not worry about that until one of the 24 players on the team gets injured.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm trying to say. You took the words right out of my mouth.

No, what I'm saying is that it's stupid to suggest moving a starting DE to DT because a backup DT went down. We still have other guys who play DT and can fill in Williams' role.

  3. I love the speculation that just because Gregory took out an insurance policy he is going to turn into a lazy player who isn't going to try hard.

Give the kid a break. He did something smart to protect his future earning power.

I don't think anyone here really believes that Randy Gregory of all people will take it easy just because he signed an insurance policy. The speculation is warranted, though. Like it or not, Clowney kind of set a precedence.

Seems like the ones that made the op a ace issue are the one that appear to be complaining about it. Its like the last couple presidential elections all over again.

No one is making this into a "race issue". The whole premise of the OP is flawed. He's asking if two receivers that have never even played together are like Todd Peterson and Nate Swift. Sam Burtch is kind of a slower possession receiver like Peterson was, but it's pretty much impossible to say if Brandon Reilly will be like Nate Swift, since he's never played in a game for us. Literally the only reason this is even a question is because they're white. I really doubt anyone has ever wondered if say, Quincy Enunwa and Kenny Bell were like Nate Swift and Todd Peterson.

Oops. I guess what I meant to say is that he hasn't played extensively enough to got a good idea of what kind of player he could be. He only has like, four career catches.

This group needs to make big strides to live up those expectations.

Santos is horrible, what is this writer smoking?

He's not horrible, but he has been pretty underwhelming. I think we can chalk that up to the fact that he played out of position for most of last season, but you never really know. I think he'll be a lot better once he's on the outside and Michael Rose or Bando is on the inside.

Santos gets lots of tackles for being to slow to stay with his guy in coverage. I can't recall all the times I saw a HB run a in/out route from the back field and find himself wide open against Santos.

He's definitely bad in coverage. Santos is a good run stopper, though. If you can find a way to mark his deficiencies in the passing game, he could be pretty good.

  8. A quick honest question. I do not plan to get into some internet tough guy posting battle, but I really want to know if the ardent Obama supporters feel a though he has over reached in some degree with his authority as it relates to the separation of powers with Congress enacting/enforcing law. Specifically, the changes in implementing the ACA, disregard of the INA, Welfare reform Act and Defense of Marriage Act. Not talking about "scandals", but actual laws he has changed without Congressional approval or blatant disregard in enforcing them. Has any president done executive decisions that so dramatically changed/effected law in your opinion. I realize he has "done less" , but have they been more impacting? Do you think this is acceptable?

If a R had done these things do you think it would cause more or less reaction? Would you still support these actions as acceptable un Bush?

Do you feel SCOTUS made the correct decision on the recess appointment decision? I am ASSuming no, as no one has commented.

Yes, the President has reached quite often during his time in office. What President hasn't, though?

  9. Need to resurrect acrobatics and tumbling cheerleaders plus male megaphones on one-of-a-kind traditional CFB atmosphere. Many schools got it (following pictures) but unfortunately Huskers did not. Why? Huskers pom-pom cheerleaders didn't cut it for me.

Tumbling is not allowed at the academic level anywhere in Nebraska. Can't do it in high school or college. It's the result of a Nebraska cheerleader getting seriously injured during an acrobatic move.

  10. We deserve to erroneously abbreviate ourselves as NU even though we are the University of Nebraska.

    Why?

Because a bunch of other schools have done it!

No, because we actually have a history of using the "NU" moniker. Hell, it was on the helmets for a while. It's not like this is some new thing.
