It's been noted in the past France is an especially fertile ground for radicalization due to having a bitterly marginalized and poorly integrated muslim minority. The prison statistics are particularly striking: muslims are only 7.5 % of the population yet make up 50% of the prison population.

Muslims in the USA, by contrast, are well integrated into society, underrepresented in prisons and less likely to succumb to radicalization.

I don't remember a lot of the details but France is very strict in how they deal with foreigners. They want to make sure everyone conforms to everything French so they don't lose their identity. There are laws on how much French music has to be played on the radio, for example. I'm guessing Muslim women have way less rights on when/where they can wear a hijab.

So strict that what happened on Saturday is just another bump in the road right? "What difference does it make"!

Looks like Amherst is joining the Social Injustice movement...

What's President Biddy Martin to do?

"2. We demand Cullen Murphy ‘74, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, to issue a statement of apology to students, alumni and former students, faculty, administration, and staff who have been victims of several injustices including but not limited to our institutional legacy of white supremacy, colonialism, anti-black racism, anti-Latinx racism, anti-Native American racism, anti-Native/ indigenous racism, anti-Asian racism, anti-Middle Eastern racism, heterosexism, cis-sexism, xenophobia, anti-Semitism, ableism, mental health stigma, and classism"

Unless the football team walks out, I'm betting not a lot will happen.

The real takeaway from the Missouri case is that a football team got a college president ousted. This won't be the last time this happens. It's going to fundamentally change college football.

The real takeaway from the Missouri case is that academia is fundamentally changing. For the worse.

Regarding Amherst and football, well frankly, I would guess they find football offensive.

Well we're certainly entitled to our opinion, aren't we. While we're at it, if it took and day and a half for a chicken and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long would it take for a grasshopper on crutches to kick the dill seed's out of a pickle?

Is the egg white and is the grasshopper an insect of color?...

Lol NO! We are all the same!

    1+1= multiculturalism

    3x3= gender equality

So 11 days to kick all those bad little dill seed's away.

Those folks on Twitter saying these things are absolute asshats. Plenty of that around, in all directions, especially on Twitter. You can count on the existence of some people who will just be the worst. And you will find them on the internet.

Reading into it is letting them win.

You will also find them on the campuses across aMErica in the Liberal/Progressive/Socialist Free Zones.

I'm not sure if I get it. The way I read this: Liberal Free, Progressive Free and Socialist Free. I.e. the only asshats in the world exist in places where there are no liberals, progressives or socialists. I have to say you are so wrong. There are plenty of liberal, progressive and socialist asshats, just like there are plenty of non liberal, non progressive and non socialist asshats.

Well we're certainly entitled to our opinion, aren't we. While we're at it, if it took and day and a half for a chicken and a half to lay an egg and a half, how long would it take for a grasshopper on crutches to kick the dill seed's out of a pickle?

So you're denying the fact that there are liberals and non liberals who are asshats? Only liberals are asshats? There's not a single asshat who's not a liberal? The Harry Potter characters did the same thing when they said there isn't a witch or wizard who went bad who wasn't in Slytherin.

So proud of you! I just knew you could narrow it down. BTW, what's a Larry Potter and this Slytherin thing?

What I am more concerned with is that our current commander in chief stated just hours before the Paris attacks that ISIS was "contained," and he previously referred to them as the JV squad. How can any President, who has access to more classified and confidential information than anyone in the world, be so wrong in his judgment of this evil group?

    Here's a link to the interview: http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/president-obama-vows-completely-decapitate-isis-operations/story?id=35173579

And the portion of it that has what you're talking about:

“I don't think they're gaining strength,” the president told Stephanopoulos in an interview at the White House Thursday. “From the start our goal has been first to contain, and we have contained them. They have not gained ground in Iraq. And in Syria it -- they'll come in, they'll leave.

"But you don't see this systematic march by ISIL across the terrain," he added, using the government's acronym for ISIS.

“What we have not yet been able to do is to completely decapitate their command and control structures. We've made some progress in trying to reduce the flow of foreign fighters,” Obama said. “Part of our goal has to be to recruit more effective Sunni partners in Iraq to really go on offense rather than simply engage in defense.”

It's a heck of a lot less damning when you actually read the full context. At the time I read some of these quotes I was assuming he meant geographically, as in they weren't expanding the borders of their "country." That was the main concern because they were rounding people up, killing/enslaving them and then continuing to expand their borders. A group that's able to do that is much more scary than a group who's able to send a few suicide bombers somewhere for isolated attacks. ISIS has killed between 10,000 and 25,000 people on the ground in their territory.

It was already posted in post #73.

And the underlined above is why your type of thinking and these atrocities will be happening at a theater near you. Don't be scared though, I'm sure you have a "Safe/Gun Free Zone" nearby.

I'm not missing out on anything and you don't need to attempt to lecture me on research methods. The sites definitely have their biases, but when the statistics are based on facts, there is no reason to keep one's head buried in the sand.

Thankfully, the European people (even in WE and Nordic countries) seem to finally be waking up. As unfortunate as it is, the attacks in Paris may be the impetus that the people need to realize that they are being invaded.

I just pointed out in the post you're replying to that you need to know more than just the statistics. They can be taken out of context. In the very example I posted from that article they were taken wildly out of context and completely ignoring Sweden's policy change on how they count rapes. It doesn't JUST matter that they are based on facts if you don't have the whole story.

I'm sure there are lots of negatives to this influx of immigrants. It's just hard to get anything out of such a horribly slanted article.

Is this the same way you count them?

"The woman was sexually assaulted and raped twice by two different men in Strängnäs over the course of an hour. Two Arab asylum seekers have now been indicted for the crimes at Bert Karlsson’s asylum accommodation Hotel Mälarblick."

  11. This is not that complicated to figure out. 1. The players had to learn a new system. 2. The coaches had to learn new players. 3. We've been decimated by injuries (reference the stat displayed yesterday that 44 different players have made starts). 4. Our roster was in horrible shape compelling the use of true freshman.

There have been a lot of cries about the sky falling this year, but those 4 factors pretty simply explain our year. We lost five close games and one with a former walk on as QB who was responsible for five turnovers in that game.

I don't know what next year will bring, but the factors that contributed most to the results this year are likely to be less significant next year.

  12. I'm sure the law suits are lining up.

"The Unicorns said they want to be Boy Scouts, not Girl Scouts. There's nothing wrong with Girl Scouts, said 10-year-old Skyler Westover, but they take naps and write letters during their meetings instead of running around doing outdoors things. Boy Scouts, she said, were a “better fit” for the Unicorns."
