  1. What. That sucks.

I'm not sure we're "OK" at all at CB without Dennard. Fonzie's holding that position down. Without him, it's youth and promise, and precious little game experience. Outside of Ciante, who have we even seen play college snaps for us? How can it be said that we'll be OK? ;P

All of a sudden the secondary is a big fat question mark! sh**ty way to start a week!

  2. Okay, I think this cleared it up for me now. I wasn't sure who went where, but now I'm good. I guess I'll just keep my stuff on HI.com, or now HuskerOnline.com. I like John, Sean and the guys.

The biggest drawback from that though is the fact that Yahoo and Rivals are WAY behind the times as far as their website goes. Their message board format is sh#t and the fact that you get a virus from RSS about once a month is also a pain in the ass.

I wish John and the guys would have gone to 247Sports.com

  3. I met one of the lead designers at a function here in KC a month ago or so and we talked a bit about it. I guess UNL took the biggest, baddest, most expensive option they laid out for them and wanted more. According to this guy, it's going to be a few steps above top notch! I was pretty excited to hear it!

  4. '10 B12 Champ Game. For one thing, I was there, so it would have made the trip even that much sweeter than it was. And, winning the conference as we head off to the Big 10 would have been so kick ass, that and the rest of the B12 would have been SO pissed.

  5. The NU/IU history is pretty interesting if you dive into it. I have that Husker Football Histor coffee table book and it's pretty cool on how things got started with them. It's a cool book, pick it up if you get a chance.

  6. That's what I like about where I THINK this offense is headed. Similar to when Beck was at KU, they focused on getting their playmakers the ball, in space and let them make plays. If you have a team with speed like it appears we do, get these guys the ball and let them make plays with their feet. Get them in one on one situations and see what they can do.

  7. If he's qualified now, there should be no reason to think he won't be cleared by the NCAA in time to apply for admission for Fall classes.

The application deadline for Fall semester is 5/1/11. I just so happened to have the page up on another tab. Probably time to finish my degree. :)

Yeah, I would imagine there is plenty of time for that. He will miss spring ball, but should be able to get to Lincoln to participate in summer workouts and stuff.

Hopefully this kid works as hard on the field as he did taking these tests, kid was pretty determined to get the score he needed in order to NOT have to go the JUCO route. Good for him.

  8. Hopefully the NCAA Clearinghouse doesn't F us over like they've done in the past, but it sounds like Braylon Heard finally got the score he needed and will be able to join the team come fall.

Much needed depth at the RB position, if he's as good as people think.

  9. Carnes came into Lincoln at about 180 I bet. He honestly looks like he's at 190/195. Shoulders definetly look broader and his arms look more toned.(no homo) I'm excited.

**Bell is a pretty straight shooter kinda guy but hilarious at the same time.

The thing that kind of scared me is he believes the new offense will be no-huddle, check downs at line, and audibles. We don't necessary have a QB that can make those kind of calls. A lot like Peyton Manning being the QB/offensive coordinator for the Colts. He run's that entire offense. Beck is entirely correct that he's looking for a leader for the offense(totally makes sense). It will be interesting to say the least.

I saw that he posted on Facebook this morning that he was at 202. Then, some chick said he was still a sting bean and said that she could bench more than him, which cracked me up.

Anyway, there is your Facebook stalk of the day! :corndance

  10. They did it the one year, 2007, and BC came up to the booth and called plays. It was a pretty cool insight into how quickly you have to manage the game and get plays down to the guys. It only increased my desire to become an OC when I grow up. :laughpound

  11. Someone on another board reported a VERY thin rumor, but might be worth keeping an eye on. Someone thinks that Watson is going to stay on as Co-OC.

If this happens, I expect the politics and religion forum to be bustling, because it will prove once and for all that there is no god.

I'm going to go out on a limb on this one and put the chance of that happening right at 0%.

  12. By the way, just saw where Bo has talked to Jackson and everything is cool with both of them. Bo told him that everything happened very quickly and the Sanders resignation kind of came out of left field.

So, I guess we can all rest easy, Jackson isn't pissed at Bo.

    link?

John Talman reported it on RSS, can't link it, premium content.

  13. :dunno This is a big loss, don't get me wrong, but I would imagine that the brains behind the success of our secondary was Coach Bo.... The loss of Sanders will effect us more on the recruiting side of things. Either way, great coach, and it is sad to see him go...

That's my thought as well. I hate losing Marvin, he's a great coach, but I sure am glad Bo is still here and his background is in the secondary.

    :bonesflag:

  14. This one hurts more than the UT game.

Besides Brown, he was easily our best position coach.

Keep in mind that Raymond is no scrub coach. I have been doing a lot of reading up on this guy. Apparently he has a lot of ties in SEC country. Especially down in Florida. Take it for what it's worth.

And that Bo is an EXCELLENT secondary coach as well, that's kind of his background. Marvin is an awesome coach, but I don't expect a huge dropoff without him.

I really don't either. I just think we got comfortable/used to Sanders coaching our DB's and doing a really good job at it!

Totally agree and not looking forward to the "Sky is Falling" on this one though!
