  1. The best thing the huskers can now do is take "us against the world" (Big 12) attitude.

We need to come out smokin Friday and lay an ass whoppin on Colorado and take that attitude right to the Big 12 Title game.

We just need to take care of business and get the offense to get physical as possible. The defense can take care of themselves just fine! Go BIG RED!

From everything I hear that's exactly the attitude the team is taking. They feel like someone stole something from them last Saturday. Yet, all of their goals are still out there, they want this conference trophy so freaking bad! The greatest thing that could happen would be for Dan Beebe to hand Bo and this AWESOME class of seniors that Big 12 Championship trophy in Dallas and they know this!

We'll see a team that is freaking possessed this Friday.

  2. Alright one of our HuskerBoard facebook "stalkers" should ask him on his wall what he was flagged for. I know someone out there is a "friend" of his and I know the wall exist as it was a piece of evidence in the Taylor Gate Meltdown. Come on I know you're out there do us all a favor and ask. Just remember in wording the question to ask if the official told him what he did supposedly.

    he doesnt have an account

Then why was it so reported stuff that he wrote on it. Like telling the refs from Saturday that they suck, and the reported TMart is all good and what not post on Sunday. All of this was from this board and other boards so I think it is out there.

Someone step up to the plate.

Martin is my "friend" on Facebook, I can ask and see if I get a response.

  3. After listening to Gomes and Cotton after Bo today, I feel like these players are pissed, really pissed. They feel like someone stole something from them Saturday night and they want to go out Friday and leave no doubt. The D will completely overwhelm CU's offense and Hawkins will turn into the turnover machine that he is. Our offense will be led by Cody Green and I have a feeling we go back into the shell that we were in at the end of last year, just do enough to win the game.

I think we'll be fine this week.

  4. The Colorado offensive game plan should be a simple as it gets.

    1. Roy left

    2. Roy Right

    3. Roy up the middle

    4. Rex in the wildcat

    boom game over.

Seriously, get in the Wildcat, run Roy and Rex, score 17 points and go to Dallas. Time to revert back to last year's offense if that's what is needed to win this Friday.

  5. We sit here at 9-2, heavy favorites going into the final game of the regular season with a chance to clinch our 2nd north title in a row, PLUS our defense looks to have its swagger back at the right time.

A&M's offense is good right now and was really rolling prior to Saturday night. Our D completely shut them down Saturday night and 6 of their 9 points were off of bullsh*t penalties.

So, as crazy as this weekend has been, there is a silver lining I think.

This could be a turning point for this staff, this program, this team, I hope they use it as a rallying cry and come out hungry this Friday. We'll see....

  6. I thought I could find an earlier posting on Martinez's health for this week...unsuccessful.

Does anyone know his "official status" for this tomorrow game? I know he is 100% but I want Pelini saying that he is back to the old Martinez!

Well, Pelini didn't say it, but Watson said those exact words earlier this week, that the "Old Taylor was back"

  7. I like your enthusiasm and I agree with a lot of what you say, mainly the part about being sick of the media crap. But, until this team shows some consistency on a week to week basis, it's just hard to jump on with both feet. If the offense comes out and executes like we've seen before, in both the pass and run games, we should be fine. We pretty much know what we are going to get with the D, they will not allow much in the passing game, but might give up some rush yards, but probably not enough of both for A&M to go crazy on the scoreboard.

As with most of our games, it will probably be a race to 24 or so.

  8. Martinez has been charged with 11 fumbles

Yet Cody Green is known as the QB with ball sercurity issuses. <_<

Not sure if serious or not, but you might want to consider the number of touches for Martinez vs. Green and see how those percentages come out. Bottom line is, neither of them have been too secure with the rock in their hands, but Martinez is a big play waiting to happen, Green is not.

  9. Considering we're only 2-1/2 point favorites, I'm not sure this should really classify as an "upset special".

I have a feeling we're going to be okay this weekend. This game has the feeling of the KSU game actually, a team that wants to believe it's ready for the prime time and they are doing anything and everything to convince people and throw everything they have at the game. But, is it false hype/hope? I think they might be getting a little ahead of themselves, similar to KSU. Both good teams, but clearly KSU wasn't ready to play a legit top 10 team and while I think A&M is a vast upgrade from KSU, are they ready for our D, is a QB that has 3 starts under his belt ready for our DB's? Is their D ready for our offensive attack? Will they sell out to stop the run while Magic burns them over the top like OSU or will they pull guys out of the box to respect the pass and let Magic/Helu/Rex run wild?

I think the O comes to play and the D continues their dominance over a pass heavy offense and we clinch the North.

Here's to hoping my feeling is right! I've only had this feeling one other time this year and that was the MU game, so I hope my streak can stay in tact!!

    LAST 13 YEAR MATCHUPS

LW Nebraska got 1 step closer to winning the North by bullying Kansas 20-3. The Huskers actually had 20-5 FD and 397-87 yd edges over the Hawks but the conservative gm plan due to QB Martinez’s not fully 100% ankle kept it relatively close. A&M meanwhile won its 3rd straight with QB Tannehill at the helm as they erased a 16 pt 1H deficit in a 42-30 win at Baylor. The Bears missed 2 FG’s, had another blk’d and missed an xp as A&M was outgained 516-423. A&M now finds themselves just 1 gm back in the South and Tannehill is avg 317 ypg (68%) with a 7-3 ratio in his 3 starts but will have a tough time here going against NU’s #1 NCAA pass eff D (140, 48%, 10-16 ratio) led by future #1 DC CB Amukamara. Nebraska clinches the North while knocking the Ags out of the South race.

    PHIL’S FORECAST : NEBRASKA 27 TX A&M 20

  11. I'm just not buyin A&M either right now. College Station at night is no joke, but this will be the best defense they face all year followed by one of the best offenses. Sherman is an NFL guy who has received a lot of Callahan like comparisons in the last couple of years. I don't think A&M is ready to beat Nebraska, especially since I have every confidence that Bo is going to have these guys playing with a lot of passion on Saturday. You could tell he was disappointed with the offense, and they have no reason to play a dumbed down offensive package this week. Everybody is healthy or close to full health now.

Furthermore, the team can clinch the Big 12 North this week and get back to the place they've been salivating over for the last year - Dallas. It's time to man up and get the clinching win.

All excellent points. If clinching the B12 isn't enough motivation to get up for the Aggies then we got some problems.

Plus, Bo is playing his old boss. I'm sure that adds a bit of fuel to the Pelini fire.

I see us going with our OSU offense this game and airing it out against their poor secondary and hitting them with big plays in the run game when they back off. Couple that with the new "wrinkles" on D and I think Tannehill will be confused all night long and will turn it over a few times and we hand them a nice beat down and clinch the North in the process.

  12. Without a top-shelf pass rush, Nebraska will have to hope Tannehill makes a few key mistakes, but if he and the offense are patient, that shouldn’t be a problem.

I'm no rocket scientist, but 14 sacks in the last 3 games is about as "top-shelf" as you'll find.

Yeah, when NU wants to dial up pressure, they can be a real handful for the OL. They just pick and choose VERY carefully when they dial that pressure up. It seems as though as David has gotten more and more comfortable with the coverages, they aren't afraid to bring the heat from the safeties and the corners more and more.

I would like to see Eric Martin make his debut at DE this weekend and see what he can do off the edge.

  13. Where do I sign??

I actually feel pretty good about this game. I know that A&M has improved greatly since benching Johnson, but I'm 100% sure that Tannehill hasn't seen a D like this and with any pressure we should be able to force him into throws he's not comfortable with. If Martinez is healthy and isn't hesitant to run, I like our chances a lot in this one.

The boys should be VERY motivated to put this division away this weekend and not have to go into the final game of the season against a team with absolutely nothing to lose in order to clinch.

  14. It really has turned into a less than hostile environment in that stadium, for some reason. I tend to lean on the side that the crowd age is getting up there, but that can't be all of it. Maybe it's the poor football that was played in the BC era and the fans forget what it's like to have a top 10 team, I really don't know. That place used to literally shake for EVERY game, the second you'd hear Sirius start up, that was the last you heard of the song, the crowd would totally drown out the rest of it. Now, it's just not like that, no clue what needs to happen, but it's NOT a hard place to play anymore, it's just not.

Sorry that happened to you man, that stinks. I hope you had fun otherwise.

  15. Husker D vs. relatively inexperienced QB is the difference in this one I think. Pelini's D makes great QBs look terrible, I have a feeling this kid will have no clue what's going on in our secondary and will be forced to throw into spaces he's not comfortable throwing into. Like others have said though, if the offense can't get anything going, it'll be tight all night long. If Martinez is back to 100%, I think we'll handle our business and clinch the North. If he's where he was for the KU game, I don't like our chances.

As far as the hostile environment, I don't really see that helping or hurting us or them. We tend to feed off of hostile crowds and Bo's guys love playing in places like that. Plus, this time of year is when our D really dials it in, which we might be starting to see a little bit, so we'll see. I don't see a comfortable win by either team and I won't be surprised if we win or lose, toss up game. I wish they would go back to Johnson at QB though, he sucks, bad.
