  1. And here I thought I was the guy who put the turd in the punch bowl!!!!

Come on guys it is not as bad as it could have been. We could have easily lost that game. They had a TD on their second attempt and the one called back. If they had gotten those two, who knows what would have happened.

Our job now is to support them, stop the negativity and look for reasons to be excited about KState. Put this behind us. The quicker the better.

Uh, yeah. That's sorta why we're freaking out. :ahhhhhhhh:hellloooo:ahhhhhhhh:hellloooo

  2. 1. Bama (Only team with a truly impressive win over a highly ranked opponent)

    2. Oregon (Not screwing around)

    3. Ohio State

    4. TCU

    5. Boise State

    6. Stanford

    7. Nebraska

    8. Auburn

    9. Oklahoma

    10. Florida

    would be my rankings

Oregon's defense has looked awfully sloppy tonight. ASU has ad about 4 different chances to put this game away, and keeps making unforced errors. PAC 10 defenses just look weak altogether. really sloppy tackling, and lots of blown coverages.

  3. There is no way we should move up in the polls. Florida and Wisconsin should be ahead of us. We only beat a FCS team by 14 at home where we should've killed them. Not trying to be a debbie downer just being realistic

Don't necessarily disagree with you... That was just my guess at what the poll will be tomorrow. Except I messed up with South Carolina and since I posted when ASU was running away, Oregon has now come back and taken the lead, so we may not move up at all. So basically my prediction already looks terrible.

Speaking of Oregon-ASU, I don't think ANYONE plays defense in the PAC 10

  4. Or feel free to post your own Top 10.

Here's my guess at the AP Top 25

    1. Alabama

    2. Ohio State

    3. Boise State

    4. TCU

    5. Nebraska

    6. Oklahoma

    7. Florida

    8. Wisconsin

    9. South Carolina

    10. Utah

*This is assuming that Arizona State finishes Oregon off.

Looks good, and I agree except for South Carolina who lost today.

 for myself... Must've missed that.

  6. herbstreit just said he thinks NU will continue to climb in the polls now that tu lost and is out of the the top 5.

Herbie has been calling the game in Boise all evening -- so I wouldn't value his opinion a whole lot at this time (or ever). I'm sure he hasn't even seen the husker score, or had time to review the game in detail. The husker game this evneing was a complete wreck.

The Husker game was terrible to those of us who listened to every second or watched every second. But guys like Kirk didn't pay any attention to it other than what was coming across on the bottom line. Our game, from a national perspective, was completely overshadowed by Bama-Arkansas, the Texas loss, the OU close win, BSU-OSU, and South Carolina-Auburn. At the end of the day, with all those storylines, all that most voters will see is, "Well Nebraska won again." They will probably stay right in that 5-7 area in the polls.

  7. the good news is that outside nebraska, no one will care about this game. it is what it is. i have not heard this game mentioned, and the only time i heard NU mentioned what the commentators for the tu game said that we were the team to beat. :moreinteresting

Wrong thread. This thread is more like: :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh :ahhhhhhhh

  8.

Martinez has poor footwork, poor throwing mechanics, poor pocket presence and questionable decision making when pressured.

But he can throw the ball hard.

This is exactly what the 'debbie downers' have been saying. He may be our best QB, but if we have no passing threat, then that is going to potentially become a problem.

Was that the problem tonight? I was only able to listen on the radio, and obviously it was a problem, but it sounded like we couldn't run the ball at all. What was up with our O-line?

  9. Very uninspiring. The good news is that it looks like there is no flat out dominate few teams this year (i.e. Bama last year, Florida and USC in recent years). Anyone in Top 10 can still be standing at the end with the crystal ball this year. I have not seen any team be excellent in all facets of the game. So we need to sure up what we are doing and be in position to win it all! But I do worry about a lot of aspects of our game that do not seem to be very good right now...

Yep, the biggest positive is that there just aren't that many dominant teams that we can see right now. There may be a couple and I'm mostly wondering what will happen, should we go up against them. Anybody else, I'm not that worried about.

At this point, because of their running games, I think the two scariest teams for us to play would be Oregon and Alabama... Looking forward to seeing what Oregon does against ASU tonight...

  10. Folks, you don't put Cody in to send some machiavellian message to Martinez about how he's too cocky or something.

He's playing poorly. That's why you put Cody in. If Cody struggles, you put Zac in. that's how it works, somebody struggles, at any position, you put someone else in.

So when it's crunch time against TX or a title game, you pull Tmart for Cody? How's he ever going to bounce back if they pull him when the going gets a little tough?

The going's been tough all game long. He had plenty of chances, I have no problem with pulling him. If it shatters his confidence, than he's not the guy.

Frazier got pulled in the middle of the national championship game when he messed up. Then Berringer came in, played well, messed up, got pulled and Frazier came back in. Neither one of them freaked out and lost their confidence.

  11. K-State Thomas might be able to do something when we play

Ding Ding Ding...we have a winner. I hope not though.

if this Thomas guy is so good, how come K-state isnt winning games by bigger scores? they won today by 4, only beat ISU by 7. I know they will give us everything, but if they are barely beating those teams. they will not beat us...

Thomas is the only good player they have. But don't sell him short, he is a very, very good RB. Just doesn't have much supporting cast.

  12. Well see, Even if Texas did lose and Oklahoma is struggling. Were expected to play well against SDSU

Sure, but nobody's watching. They'll look at the final score, if the final score looks like a 38-10 win or something, nobody will care.

A lot of people will say they should have blown them out.

38-10 looks like enough of a blowout that few will look closer at how the game unfolded. Seriously, nobody's watching. Big 12 media types are watching OU-Cincy, everyone else watching USC-Auburn, or Florida-Kentucky.

Anyways, this game is starting to get out of hand anyways.

    38-10 is not a blowout.

I don't really care about rankings, but I say we drop if this ends 38-10. 55-10 is a blow out

Well, if we win by 38-10, I guess we'll find out. Nobody but Nebraska fans cares about this game though. It's an afterthought today.

  13. Well see, Even if Texas did lose and Oklahoma is struggling. Were expected to play well against SDSU

Sure, but nobody's watching. They'll look at the final score, if the final score looks like a 38-10 win or something, nobody will care.

Ohio State put up 73, Wisconsin put up 70, Michigan put up 65.

The Big 12 is looking pretty sad so far, we need to win impressively and put up 50+ to keep up in the polls.

If our final score is 31-21 or something, we'll lose a spot or two. We don't need to win 83-0 though. All I care about is that we win big enough that we can play reserves for most of the 4th quarter, at least.

  14. Well see, Even if Texas did lose and Oklahoma is struggling. Were expected to play well against SDSU

Sure, but nobody's watching. They'll look at the final score, if the final score looks like a 38-10 win or something, nobody will care.

Anyways, this game is starting to get out of hand anyways.
