  1. I will hold judgement till he wins a conference title and puts us into an NC game, oh and is in the running for a heisman. He has played ONE game, he played pretty well agianst one of the worst teams in college football. He has a long way to go, before we even mention him and Crouch in the same paragraph let alone sentence.

YES...thank you...Tmart played well...but we also played WESTERN KENTUCKY who didn't win a game last year. Lets see how he fairs in two weeks on the road at Washington. Don't get me wrong...he looked VERY good yesterday but will he have the poise? Zach Lee has been through it ALL...and I find it hard to believe that Tmart would have as much poise as Zach Lee in a pressure situation...just sayin...but time will tell! All in all...a good opener for us...I hope our defense gets its sh#t together though...WOW...I was not impressed.

  2. Mike McNeil - 6'4 235lbs

    Niles Paul - 6'1 220lbs

    Brandon Kinnie - 6'3 220lbs

    Ben Cotton - 6'6 255lbs

    vs.

    Derrius Brooks - 5'10 185lbs

    Mark Santoro - 6'0 199lbs

    Kareem Peterson - 5'11 172lbs

    Jamal Peterson - 5'9 161lbs

WOW...this is unreal to see on paper!!! lets hope it doesn't get too out of hand tomorrow!!

  3. I can see this Iowa / Nebraska thing getting bad. I can see the past years of hate and ( I really dont want to say this) jealousy spewing out of hawkeye nation. For whatever reason, be it our fanbase close to the border, our great success in the past, or our ability to get good recruts in a even less appealing area. The hawkeye hate is spewing forth. I cant tell you how many snarls i get a day from the hawkeye nation when i wear my big red gear. Though there are lots of husker fans in this state also. I predict this will be about the same as colorado or worse. Probally will need to remove most of my husker stuff from my cars ro avoid vandalism. Take my flag down so my stuff doesnt get vandalized. I was wondering if this was going to be a somewhat interesting rivalry but i see it becoming something bad entirely. Either way its a lose for nebraska fans in iowa. We win, our sh#t is in jepordy, if we lose we will never hear the end of it until wrestling season starts.

This is a great topic...thank you for putting it up. I was JUST back in Nebraska for a wedding last weekend...the reception was over and we were still putting a few back with my buddies and his cousins...from Iowa. We started talking about college football...it was like we were talking to a completely different guy! He was BASHING Nebraska football...heres the thing...right now...both of our teams are in the top ten and are pretty equal...however...i can see iowa dropping off quickly. If this happens...the rivalry will die quickly. To add...I've been to Iowa City several times before...GREAT town...GREAT atmosphere and I agree with the others...NOBODY can me as horrible as the CU fans...i live with one out here in long beach, california and i'll vouch for that any day! At any rate...I'm stoked...gonna be a great road game for us in a couple years to go to!

  5. There are some haters in Big 10 country. This was in the Chicago SunTimes today. The SunTimes is known for having inflammatory sports columnists, but this one is kind of over the top as far as I'm concerned....

Well one...yes of course its about the money but its also about respect. Nebraska was getting pushed around by Texas and the southern schools in the Big 12 and we were tired of it. There was also concern of instability in the conference BECAUSE of Texas...they're really the ones that started it all. Tom Osborne made a statement in an espn.com article saying that there was no way of telling that Texas wouldn't try to do the same thing in a couple of years...in the end its about survival and the preservation of a football dynasty. Nebraska is and will forever will be one of the greatest college football programs in the country and we should be treated like it. With all of this said...I can understand where the reporter is coming from A LITTLE BIT at the end of article talking about rivalries being broken and whatnot...I felt the same way when we first found out that Nebraska was leaving the Big 12. But all good things must come to an end....AND...we can see already that there will be AWESOME new rivalries coming next year.

  6. i'll be honest...not that impressed with the demo reel BUT...like previous posts...looks like he could be a solid back for nebraska....he's not that big tho for a linebacker...maybe outside linebacker i guess but he'd have to get bigger...i didn't like his demeanor after every tackle though....get the tackle and go back to the huddle...he'll learn that when he gets to nebraska!

  7. totally the right call...the NCAA has had a tough offseason but I applaud them...here's the deal...there's a sanctity about college sports...thats why people love it....there's no BS. its just guys that LOVE to play the game trying to win every game and putting their heart and soul out there. now while they're doing that...while they're being nationally-televised and becoming role models for kids all around the country, the NCAA is making sure they keep their stuff together and respect the fact that the only reason the players are getting these opportunities is because of the NCAA...good job NCAA for keeping college football classy and legit.

  8. Let's not use real teams to keep any emotions at bay.

Team A and Team B are in the same conference, different divisions. They play each other twice in one season, splitting the series 1-1.

Team A goes 7-1 in the conference, with a close loss to team B.

Team B goes 5-3 in the conference, with a blowout loss to team A along with two other losses.

Who is deserving of the conference championship? Obviously Team A, right?

But in reality, Team B is crowned champions. This is because they managed to win a fairly weak division, then get a few breaks to beat Team A in the "Championship Game". I put it in quotes because the label is arbitrary. The game is no different than any other games. The rules are the same. By most standards of fairness, Team A should be champions, since the two teams split the series and Team A had a better conference record.

Your argument then would mean every playoff system out there be it NFL, NBA, NHL, NCAA Basketball, etc are "dumb".

agreed...this is what playoffs/championship games and getting better during the season are for....it measures a team...if you're deserving of something greater...you'll win when it counts

  9. i agree...this constant indecision by the coaches...if there IS indecision...just creates another distraction for the players during the season. I can understand keeping it competitive in camp and practice leading up to the season...but once its time to play...i think everybody wants to see one guy making the calls at the line

  10. Lee's the starter 100%...the ONLY reason Pelini is keeping hush hush about it is because he wants zach lee to stay on his sh#t....now i DO think that taylor martinez will be the #2 man. I actually got to see him play in high school out here in corona, california....the kid's a stud...very mobile. But Zach Lee has had the pressure on him...has taken the hits from big defenses and the media...and I believe is FINALLY ready to walk up to the line with some swagger this year. He's been through the sh#t and can't go through much more...in my opinion...the only direction for Zach Lee is up.

  11. WOW...i sincerely hope this doesn't happen and don't think it will. Ohio State and Michigan won't let it happen...no way. It's a rivalry like that that helps signify the programs. If this goes through...i will be VERY VERY shocked and disappointed

  12. say what you will about zac lee, he did get us to 10-4. if the o-line is the littlest bit improved, that is two more wins. it should be an interesting season. i just want it to start, and i really don't care who is the starting qb as long as he is our best guy.

    I agree!!

  13. It truly doesn't matter because it has not much bearing on what happens on the field, but I'd actually feel a little.better for this team to be rated in the 10 to 15 area to begin the season. If we win, we'll get to the big game, but if we lose a couple games in the first half of the season I think we will be seen as overrated and fall farther than we would from the low teens.

I am not convinced we are that much improved, though the schedule is favorable. I am more concerned about winning the North and leaving on an up note, than getting caught up in the NCG hype. We have not beaten a top 20 team in several years even with Suh. I am not sure we will likely beat two or three highly ranked teams to fulfill the espn hype. If we stub our toe after such predictions we will fall like a stone, I fear. The good news, the players control the destiny of this last big 12 adventure!!

I agree with you on the hype...however it IS nice to see Nebraska getting some respect as national contenders again...I'm excited for our trip up to Washington...that will be our first glimpse at what Zach Lee is made of this year

  14. I don't have a day off til Tuesday, but what exactly are you looking for? Any specific player or theme? Want your name in it or something else as text?

Hey no worries man...I really appreciate this! No real theme...just any husker one and then if you could have it say B-rett on it that'd be awesome...but whatever you have time for is great! Thank you again!
