  1. I like the hire. We tried to go to the West coast/big splash for a football coach a few years ago and we all know how that worked. At least if he take care of any local talent and relate to Nebraska people, that is a start. It will be difficult for a few years but we also gave Doc six years and many people still liked him.

  2. Having went to a few Racers games some years ago, it seemed the marketing was lacking. I think Ralston and those associated with the new arena are taking the right approach in looking at several different avenues, basketball, hockey and football.

  3. We seemed to have changed our recruiting strategy from trying to sign 3 star players early (and a few of them get an extra star later) to trying an land the big fish. I have no idea which strategy would be best for the long run but I appreciate the efforts of our coaches trying to reach for the very best.

  4. I think Miles is a good choice. Even if he has limited success, his connections to recruiting Nebraska talent could help to bring the fans back into the fold. We all know that we aren't going to be Duke or NC BUT in todays college basketball world even an occasional .500+ record gives you the opportunity for post season play.

  5. I apologize in advance as this is my first ever post after quite a while as a reader only.

I am impressed that the new play calling methods and the lack of a huddle have seemed to have a very positive effect on the readiness of our offense. I became soooooo disgusted with slow play calling, a hurried huddle, racing to the line of scrimage, no time to audible, delay of game, illegal procedure, late time outs etc.

In the past, there appeared to be several times during each game which I questioned if some of the players even knew the count/play/situation/who to block because they were in such a hurry to make sure they got the play run in time.

Being a former high school football coach for 10 years, I believed that keeping a consistent offensive rhythm was important for the players and their confidence. I believe this new methodology has had some effect on the improved execution of our offense.
