  1. Does anyone know "roughly" how many spots we still have remaining?

We have somewhere close to 19 seniors on scholarship. Add in 2-3 due to attrition, and maybe 1 of Crick, Dennard, or Kinnie going NFL early and my rough estimate would be around 22-23 for this class. Maybe 10 spots left? That's a pretty rough estimate.

assuming marsh is counted as part of this class, we've got 14 now and currently have room under he 85 limit for 7 more. assuming some attrition, i think we'll probably max out the 25, or at least get to 24 (and save one for a walk-on). that means 10 or 11 more recruits.

IMO Kinnie has no real reason to leave early...he will not be projected in the first couple rounds at this point in his career. again IMO, the possible strike next season in the NFL will probably mean most juniors and redshirt sophomores will stay for another year.

  2. I'm basing this on the on-the-field performances. The win at Tennessee has them securely at #1

    1. Oregon

    2. Alabama

    3. Nebraska

    4. Oklahoma

    5. TCU

    6. Boise State

    7. Utah

    8. Ark

    9. South Carolina

    10. Stanford

Teams that have shown me nothing good so far:

    Ohio State University

    Texas

    Florida

    Wisconsin

These teams are rated based on their notoriety, not on their production. All of them look weak this year compared to their normal standards.

Oklahoma hasnt been consistent at all, they have played 1 good game against FSU...OSU has played three good games...Marshall, Miami, and Ohio

    1. Alabama - til they get beat they are #1 in my book (they played the first 2 games without their two best guys (Ingram and that DT)

    2. Oregon - Could be #1 but I think Saban is a better coach...

    3. Nebraska

    4. Ohio State

    5. TCU

  3. I'm sorry but this is getting to be an old overplayed joke. Niles this Niles that, sit him overrated and on and on. Are a lot of you serious? Yes he has put the ball on the turf here and there, but so does Adrian Peterson and do you hear the lynch mobs out for him? Yes the ISU one last year was bad and I can admit I cussed about it for a while, but all of his others have happenend while he is trying to make something happen and turn a small gain into a big one(ain't that what we all want). Then people like to bring up the Tech game. How many other Huskers went after that ball thinking it was a fumble, not the other two Huskers that were by Niles that stood there as well, hell no one really chased the guy as they thought it was an incomplete pass. Then there's the drops. Hell every WR drops more balls that they should have caught and are quick to admit it.

I'm sorry but Niles IS our deep threat at WR, punt returner, and should be back on KO's. I know I am not the only one that has a feeling Niles can take any punt or kick to the house. He is a PLAYMAKER, most devastating blocker on the perimenter, and toughest WR matchup we will present any opponent.

As for today his fumble, was actually on the RB on that play too. Both were trying to take the ball. He didn't have a hold that wipped out a TD, that was Kinnie, Niles probably would've put the DB on his butt. And finally the muffed punt. It looks a lot easier to do from the stands. I'd love to see any of you focus on a ball coming down to ya dancing with the wind while 185-250 pound guys are runnning at you full speed expecting to destroy you. Yeah you might try to sneak a peek or two or three to make sure you live.

In closing, tear my post a part as you will but show me someone better at WR. And for those who will shout out Kinnie, how many TD's does he have again.

How many did Paul have in his first two years again?

  4. i got tickets on the northend where the big screen is and i believe the screen is over my left shoulder. also row 30...anybody been around here? are the nice seats? also anything i should see for my first time?

I have walked down to the "tunnel" a few times...its awesome when the guys are running by all pumped up before the game...slap a few hands and get a few pics...the only bad thing is you miss the fly over (if there is one that game), the tunnel walk on the big screen, and usually the kickoff (hard to get back to the seats with the big crowds)... might be a second trip experience but worth it if you get the chance!

  5. a few years ago my fav within my group of friends was Hunter "drunk ass" Teafatiller...kid had like 3 DUIs

Niles "the drive killer" Paul - sorry but the kid loses focus too often...

    Alex "Clutch" Henery

    Adi "Big Foot" Kunalic

Anthony "Black &" Blue - kid is always has an injury

    Cameron "Selleck" Meredith

Lance "who's 23?" Thorell - no one ever seems to know who he is

  6. 1) Proof T-Martgic can get it done through the air. Meaning he completes no less than 55% of his passes for more than 200 yds and if he happens to scamper for some yardage so be it.

    2) Better defensive focus, less missed assignments and intensity througout the game no matter what the score or what string is in.

    3) I dont want to see Henery on the field kicking a single field goal. We should not be settling for FG's agianst inferior opponents.

    4) I dont want to see Cameron Meredith, let him heal and get some younger guys some experience.

    5) Toss sweeps with Paul/Kinnie/Mcneil Billdozing the way to the endzone for whoever the RB happens to be.

    I like your #1, 2, and 4

    1) I'd also like to see us perform better in the 2 minute offense

    2) More plays featuring McNeil/Kinnie in the Redzone

    3) Paul bringing it altogether (no fumbles, dropped passes, bad decisions, etc..)and having the first of many great games in 2010

    4) RBs getting bigger holes from our O-Line

    5) mentioned earlier stop using T-Magic...i know that's what the team calls him but the team called Suh, "Ducky" and that never really caught on so let's just stop now before it gets out of control!
