  1. My top 5 is

    1. Alabama

    2. LSU

    3, Oregon

    4, Kansas State

    5 Notre Dame

How's LSU even in the discussion now?

I think he feels that since LSU almost beat the almighty Tide, they deserve to be #2.

Because, you know, it's college football. Where you move up for losing...

    ...

LSU is a good team, but #2? Get real. They lost to Bama. They should drop.

    u mad?

  2. But this conference is a lot more balanced than your PAC and Big 12's.

Not this year it isn't. Did you see how the Big Ten played OOC?

The 5th best team from the Pac-12 (either UCLA or Stanford or Oregon State or USC...it's one of those) is probably better than the 2nd best team from the B1G (Nebraska).

  3. To be honest, the defense has taken a major step backwards after Carl Pelini left for FAU.

Papuchis better figure this out or he's got to go.

WOW, we are 7-2, clear path to the Rose Bowl, the only 2 teams we lost to are in the top 20, we have the 6th toughest strength of schedule in the country...aaaaaaannnnd we want both our offensive and defensive cordinators fired, this is unbelievable. Where does all this underserved sense of accomplishment come from?

I see what you're saying and am happy about the record and who the losses came to, but where'd you get the 6th SOS from?

Sagarin has Neb. at 32 SOS.

  4. Did you guys just see the 15 yard celebration penalty against KSU? KSU scored with a minute to go and the WR saluted the crowd. He got tossed a 15 yard flag for excessive celebration. With that, the refs tacked on 15 yards on the two point conversion for the potential tie. Needless to say they didn't get it. I thought this call was friggen rediculous and I don't even like KSU but man they got screwed!

Making a gesture towards the crowd is supposed to be called for the penalty. The official did his job, the player did not. Turn and hand the ball to the ref and nothing happens.

I hate that celebration crap as much as I hate the Roll Tide commercials ESPN plays over and over and over and over. As jliehr said, Turn and hand the ball to the ref and nothing happens. It is just that simple.

How does a player NOT get excited after scoring a TD in the final minute to give his team a chance to tie. This is competitive sports.

Guys like Walter Paton, Jerry Rice, Joe Montana, Dan Marino, Barry Sanders and so many others seemed to be able to pull it off on a consistant basis. The last things any sport needs are more Terrell Owens, Chad Johnson, and other like them.

Saluting to the crowd isn't anything remotely like what Ochocinco and TO would do in their heyday.

The kid did nothing wrong. Plain and simple. He didn't take a cheerleader's pompoms, or pull out a sharpie and sign the ball, or pour popcorn into his helmet, or do an elaborate dance...

    Come on with that nonsense.

  5. Let me make this perfectly clear! I AM NOT SAYING I WANT NEBRASKA TO DO THIS!!!!!!

But the Mountaineers flat black helmets were pretty damn cool.

As much as I despise Mizzou, their flat black helmets were bada$$.

the black on black or whatever you want to call it was pretty cool.

    Damn, those are PIMP.

  6. So, how is kneeling down and crossing yourself or pointing to the sky or "throwing the bones" or "hook 'em horns' or forming an "O" with your fingers or crazy running down the field or a number of other celebrations, not 'calling attention to yourself'? Do the rules specifically state 'saluting'?

    This.

    What a garbage call.

  7. Oklahoma's yards/carry was 3.47 going into tonight's game (102nd in the nation) and they ran for 2.7 a pop.

DeMarco Murray is still rydin' dirrty on what he did 2 and 3 years ago.

He's no longer a threat and neither are Madu and Finch.

Just have those DBs play tight and Oklahoma isn't scoring more than 13 points.
