  1. Reading dumb remarks the board after the game should not piss me off as much as the game did. The whole "ship is sinking, kill the captain" nonsense is getting old. Bo isn't going anywhere and he shouldn't. The team is pretty young and we can't get our feathers in a bunch everytime they play like a young team.

  2. Before Saturday's game against Michigan State.......I got a "high five" from Rex Burkhead as he was running out of the locker room!

Before Saturday's game against Michigan State.......I got a "high five" from Rex Burkhead as he was running out of the locker room and I pissed all over myself :( **

    There, I fixed it.

  3. If death ever came for Rex Burkhead, Rex would meet him in the hole and plow him over on the way to yet another touchdown.

Rex Burkhead ordered a Big Mac at Burger King and got one.

When Rex Burkhead goes scuba diving, the sharks wear safety cages.

  4. I think it's hilarious how some of you defend everything he does. The guy could come out tomorrow and say he hates corn on the cob, and half of you would write posts saying 'yeah, f#*k corn on the cob. Gets stuck in your teeth. Not a lot of nutritional content. Good for BO!' Jesus. Pelini could sh#t on a plate, call it stroganoff, and some of you would line up for seconds.

corn on the cob IS the worst. also, how do you make stroganoff, then?

Not to unintentionally insult anyone who might be involved in the food cooking process at Memorial Stadium, but the burger I had on Saturday sure seemed like it might have been Bo's fecal matter... And yes, I did consider having seconds.

  5. Also, if you think Husker fans, of all people, are pathetic, then you need to get out more. Husker fans are quite often some of the best people (not to mention complete strangers) I've ever met. Countless college football coaches, figureheads, and players have said that we're the best fans in the game. But I'm sure you considered all of these things when you started the thread. We are definitely pathetic because we booed a poor performance in the first half last night.

  6. It's not a game a tiddly-winks. I have no problem with the crowd booing on occasion if the team isn't doing what needs to be done. If we're doing everything right and still losing, don't boo. But if we're losing because we can't figure out how to stop QB keeper short of a 20 yard gain and our QB just made a silly mistake right at halftime that led to the opposing team getting a FG, go ahead and boo.

  7. When you look at all three of TMart's INTs he was trying to hit a home run. He knows better than to throw across his body, he knows better than to throw into the coverage that he did on the second one, he knows better than to try to make the hardest throw out of the three ones he was given. Every QB makes mistakes when they try to force the football. Is it possible for a 20 year old qb to just think that he has to do too much? Is that being "uncoachable?" Is that because "our offensive coaching staff doesnt put him in a position to succeed?" Is that because "he just isn't going to be the QB we need to succeed at the heighest level?" Is it because "Bo Pelini is a defensive coordinator that was given the keys to a big time program that he wasn't ready for?"

    NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is a 20 year old kid showing immaturity. If I could speak to Taylor I would say keep the game simple. When it comes down to it the game is very simple. On the first INT, pick your favorite fan in the stands to throw it to. Punting is not the end of the world. On the second one (if Jamal catches the ball on 2nd and 18 we aren't even having this conversation), Kenny Bell would have been your read. On the third one, keep it simple. I know you saw Burkhead right in front of you. Throw it to him and we are in no worse of a situation than 2nd and 4. I like that down and distance a lot.

If he's showing immaturity, then whats going to flip the magic switch? What should Beck do, keep having him try to chuck the ball around the playground when it is clearly not his forte? He's better running the ball, than he is throwing the ball. Why is he trying to hit a home run, when he lofts the ball up giving the defense time to adjust? This might have worked against lesser secondary's, but Wisconsin's coverage guys are a hell of a lot better than Wyoming. He should be throwing shorter passes to minimize the chance of mistakes. I had friends watching the game with me last weekend, and all of them said that his throwing motion needs work.

There's a time to be immature, but then there's a time to learn from your mistakes, and pull your head out of your ass. When you keep making the same mistakes over and over, is that person unable to be coached? What happened to the kid who a couple games before last saturday, got everyone's hopes up, by making smart decisions, sliding, etc. He needs to learn that flipping the ball down field might yield great rewards, but also comes with consequences.

The "magic switch" flips after a game like Saturday. When he makes enough mistakes that he gets in the film room and looks at what he should have done instead. For a growing QB that has been in a trial by fire role since day 1 as a starter, that is how you "grow up" and get better.

  8. One loss, not cause for alarm, you are right.

But when your team folds like superman on laundry day on national TV, again?

We got it handed to us, by yes a better team, but when elements of your team make you look completely inept, then yeah, alarm bells should be ringing.

I agree. I will be singing a very different tune if we lose to tOSU.

  9. Look, I think it's a bit premature to call for someone to be benched (Martinez, Fisher, etc.) because it's not ideal to sack someone, who has played well overall, just because of one bad night. I feel when they are the no-brainer starter all year, and then they totally suck, you have to give them a chance to respond. See if they are disappointed in their performance and come out to play with a chip on their shoulder the next week. But if we don't see big turnaround in gameplay, changes need to be made.

As for Tim Beck, he needed a week like last week. A game where even if he calls the perfect game we might lose, but instead he made multiple questionable decisions and has thus been berated by media and fans. He is still learning, and hopefully this was a big learning experience for him. Let's see if he comes out this week and "dance's with the one that brought him" to turn a phrase. By that I mean: run the GD football.

My two cents. Sorry if this has been thoroughly discussed elsewhere.
