  1. Bottom line is that during the Big 12 era, Nebraska was JUST ANOTHER SCHOOL in the far weaker north division. You can puff out your chest and hate on Missouri football all you want but the fact is you were never able to become the "big dog" you thought you should've been in a pretty weak football conference. Even if you beat Missouri and lose to Oklahoma in the Big 12 CCG (which WILL happen if you face them), you're still just another team in this conference. Oklahoma and Texas have been elite...Missouri, Kansas State, Colorado, Nebraska, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, OK State have had their years, and Kansas, Baylor, Iowa State have been largely bad. You can keep on thinking you're a step above and its great that the Big 10 split up the divisions and considered you one of the conference powers BUT during the Big 12 years, Nebraska was largely a middle tier team. WHen the Big 12 formed, everyone expected it to be Nebraska vs. Oklahoma or Texas every year in the CCG but you couldn't do it. (You let freaking Kansas hang 70 on you at home for crying out loud). So go ahead and leave feeling like a power house looking down on all the little people but it just isn't the case.

  2. Student section :horns2:horns2

I'll be there in my gold Maclin jersey. He's on a bye...sure would be nice if he could stop by and suit up. Looking forward to a great game in a great atmosphere...Big 12 is definitely losing an awesome venue and an unforgettable experience for fans and players. One more win in Lincoln Tigers!

  3. Can NU keep Aldon out of the backfield? No you can't. But I don't expect to see him back there too much. It doesn't do Aldon any good to get back there by himself because T-Mart is too athletic. They'd risk T-Mart exploding past the rusher for a huge gain. Aldon and the rest of the D-line will be staying in their lanes to keep T-Mart in front and making him beat them with his arm.

^^^Yeah I don't think Aldon Smith in the backfield all day is necessarily a bad thing for Nebraska. Smith likes to speed rush the end but if he does that all day there are gonna be some big holes for Martinez to take off. Our D is built on blitzing so we can disrupt some things but that lends itself to big plays. Hopefully WE'VE got a good scheme ready that involves Smith covering his assignments instead of trying to beat his man around the edge.

  4. I wonder if Missouri fans ever wonder why NOBODY ever

    refers to them as "classy"?

Nobody refers to Nebraska fans as classy anymore except Nebraska fans so what is your point?

I've seen it myself several times this year already.

They weren't so classy against Texas...get behind early in this game and the fans' true colors will keep coming out. Nebraska's "classy fan" farse was built in the days when you were blowing teams out by 60. A lot easier to act classy when you still feel like you're better than any other team...but when you're just another team, I don't see a difference between Nebraska fans and anybody else.

  5. I heard Texas got Pelini'd last year. That's when you have a close play at the end but the reveiw clearly shows in your favor and you win the game. Then your players get yelled at and told they ought to be ashamed by the opposing coach who storms around yelling for Tom. I guess as long as you can accept the good with the bad, getting Pelini'd isn't all that bad.

  6. Our future is the Pass Action Play

Let T-Magic spread out the field with a pass play at scrimage, then as the field opens up during the play and a running lane appears, Taylor is off to the races.

Doesn't matter if it is a design play or a pickup off a true pass play, it is always there for us. Amazing what a mobile, dual threat QB will do!

If I was the Mizzery D-Coach, this is what would be keeping me up at night this week.........

    GBR

    RR

This is the key...if Missouri can limit Martinez's long runs on busted plays, they'll be right in the middle of the game. If not, I could see Nebraska running away...literally. A dual thread QB is a nightmare for defenses. Having a team 3rd and long and defending well only to have the QB take off and pick it up is a huge punch to the stomach and it can wear down a defense.

  7. Missouri tends to bring a lot of extra guys to stop the run and put pressure on the QB trusting their DB in single coverage. Especially now with the starting DT out, I would expect them to have to bring extra guys to get pressure and stop the run. Missouri will try and force Nebraska to beat them through the air if they can. I'm sure they respect the pass after seeing the OSU film but still, their defensive game plan will be to stop the run...probably give up some passing yards...and hope to force a turnover or two with their pass rush. And yes Aldon Smith is pretty much a beast and can cause a lot of problems in the backfield...not quite Suh but very disruptive and athletic.

  8. Hey man, I've lived through that my entire life, my WHOLE FAMILY is MU fans, so I've seen it first hand. I was even a Tiger fan in my youth, until I saw the light and was able to see that I had been brain washed!!

Around what time did you become a Nebraska fan? Sounds like you're bragging about being a front runner...very noble of you.

  9. Other than the UT game, Steele has been pretty close on all of our games, let's hope this trend continues. He would have nailed last week's OU/MU game as well, if OU didn't sh*t down their leg in the first half.

Missouri went up 7-0, shut the Sooners down 3 & out and then fumbled the ball to them and giving them a short field for their first score...mistakes went both ways. Missouri was able to dominate the 4th quarter when it mattered...not a matter of Oklahoma giving the game away.
