  1. For all you nellies out there clamoring for Pavelka's return, let me just state once and for all that Pavelka will NOT be coming back to the mike!  I highly doubt the good folks at Pinnacle Broadcasting would be impressed about his low-rated morning show on KKAR or the way he left Saddlemeyer and KFAB lying in the lurch.

On the other hand, I enjoy listening to Jim Rose through my headset as I listen to the game in the West stands.  He also wrote and interesting book on Husker history that you all should check out.  I'm reminded of chicken pot pies mom used to make FROM SCRATCH!    People don't take the time to do stuff like that much more.

Kent rules he is by far the best out there. Listening to Kent is like pure butter to my ears.

Kent was/is waaaaaay too fond of himself to be our Voice of Nebraska. You see that is why the people of Omaha make his radio show so low rated.

Jim's voice, and as he gets more experience his inflection will harken back to a young Lyle.

If you haven't read it, read his book on the history of Husker Football.

He wrote a book? Wow I am shocked. I did not know that.

  3. The option will not be run as long as Callahan and Co. are here. Would you ask an Italian chef to make steak and eggs? No.

Are you calling Coach Callahan a "one trick pony"?

Uh, no. Unless the Italian chefs you know only know how to make chicken parmesan. :wtf

If Bill Callahan was capable of putting a team on the field that led the NFL in rushing, I don't see why he couldn't run the option or something like it, given that the personnel he'd inherited were all holdovers from the old regime. But that's a moot point. He could've won six or seven and gotten us to a bowl game if he'd done so, but he chose what he did... To our detriment. Yay, Bill.

I agree, I don't want to see that happen again this year. But alas I am afraid it is and we are all going to bend over and take it. We could really make some noise if we just use the players we have.

  4. Howdy All!

I just wanted to say "Hey" to all my Big 12 brethren up north and wish you all the best in the upcoming season! If the Huskers play up to their abilities you all will have a lot to be proud of!

I am predicting a 2nd place finish in the North with a 5-6 record (I know, not again!). Losses to Pitt, TTech, Mizzou, Mobilehoma, KState, and CU are in the works. But, I do predict an upset win over Iowa State.

I know, I feel for ya. Better years are down the road - especially as this year's recruiting class matures.

The 'Horns need you guys to pick it back up to help balance the conference so GOOOO BIIIIG REDDDDD!

Welcome, glad to have some opposing fans even if they are from Texas. What do you think your guys chances of beating OU this year and going to the MNC game are?

  5. How does everyone feel about moving Ganz to starting QB. Based on out talent I don't think we are ready yet for this WCO. If we put Ganz in there we could still run some option as he has some wheels on him and can throw pretty decent. We could maybe do a hybrid offence like WCO option or something. I think with Lucky in the back field and Ganz running things we could win 9 games. With Taylor we would be lucky to win 7 with all our WR hurt.

    What does everyone think?
