  1. Sorry for all the questions guys, but is this PPP (Pay Per Post) thing legit? Am I to understand that we actually get PAID to post here? Do we get a monthly check? Do I need to send the Mods my address?

Also, does it work like an MLM program were I get people to sign up under me and get paid for their posts as well?

  2. Welcome! Glad to have ya!

I'd encourage all new members to take a look at the Board Rules. It'll help you get a better picture of what goes on on this board.

    :cheers

Oh, and even though I don't care much for TU....Hook 'em! :horns2

  3. How about we talk about what the thread is about?

You can't have a 4-back set in football. You have to have 7 men on the line of scrimage. You've got 5 linemen, and either 2 TEs or a TE and a WR or 2 WRs. That leaves only 4 players in the backfield including the quarterback. Aside from the impossiblility of a 4-back set, I really doubt Coach C will even use any 3-back sets. The original WCO was made to work out of only single-back sets and the modern versions, though they aren't only singlebacks anymore, don't usualy use more than 2.

    Look at some 3-back sets:

    TE T G C G T TE

    _____QB

    _HB_____HB

    _____FB

    TE T G C G T TE

    _____QB

    _____FB

    _____HB

    _____HB

The defense is basically forced into putting 8-9 guys in the box, simply because all of your players are there, and is pretty ineffective in any offense other than a power-option.

Excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse me, but isn't the quarterback considered a "back?"

Hell, I'd consider the Wishbone a 4 back set!

I think it's unlikely in the WCO, but hell, with Glenn playing H-Back, I don't see how a 4 back set is unrealistic.

  4. lex, have you read the board rules?  It seems like you're just attacking me instead of adding something insightful to the thread.

BTW, what's wrong with a 4 back set?  Callahan/Norvell are some of the most innovative offensive minds in the game today (remember what they did with the Raiders??????).

No, I haven't read the rules, but this is America. If you say something stupid, you should expect to be called on it (or worse).

Well, it's Rule #1! Remember, just because YOU think something is "stupid" doesn't mean everyone else does.

    #1 - No Flaming/Trolling/Defamatory posts

Strong opinions are encouraged, and debated is not only welcomed – it's the main reason the board exists. If what you are considering posting doesn’t advance the issue being discussed – if it’s just taking a “shot” at someone – then either don’t post it, or phrase it in a way that meets the rules.

There is absolutely no reason to verbally attack another user (aka flaming), and/or posting a message for the express purpose of generating a negative response (trolling).

Any defamatory posts made against HuskerBoard, its representatives, or any other member may result in an immediate ban or temporary account disablement.

Posts outside of the general theme of the topic which you are posting within will be moved or deleted.

  6. With all our running backs in the stable, I've been thinking a lot about having some 2 or 3 back sets to maximize the talent on the field. I say why not have a FOUR back set. Can you imagine Ross, Jackson, Lucky and Glen all on the filed together? It could...er WOULD upen up a lot of flanker screens and under routes out of the Z456 and Q765 allignments. Also if Taylor has any wheels, it virtually leaves him uncovered to execute a variety of bootleg packages.

  7. my wifes cosin was the dentist well he still is a dentist but hes not my wifes cosin anymore cuz she aint my wife no more. okay i guess hes still her cosin but not my wifes cousen. he told me lyle was the only man woman or child who could talk to him when he was drilling his teeth. said he could understand the words too. but he had a lot of beers when he told me that so who knows?

    Bro, are you ok?

    :wasted

  8. What's everyone think about the new license plates? I have friends who live out in Grand Island and find that the covered wagon is somewhat offensive. They say it makes them seem like "hicks" and/or "rednecks."

I live in West O and I told them that we don't look down on people from the West just because they have a "pioneer" type reputation. I told my friends from GI it's much ado about nothing.

Anyone else have thoughts on the new plates?

  9. All the NFL teams are using the WCO. It's the new "option" so to speak. Frank never could quite figure that out. That's why he's at Ohio now. The days of the option are over. Do you see any NFL teams running it? No.

And who do you think Callahan learned the WCO from? None other than Father Walsh! :thumbs

  10. That's the spirite! :horns2

Some might call me crazy, but I see only one game standing between us and a trip to Pasadina!  12-1 and National Champs is pretty realistic, if you ask me!

Hey, you never know. OU wasn't expected to win in 2000, so I don't see why not! Afterall, we're starting to get BLAKE recruits now!

I won't predict a MNC this year, but next year or the year after that for sure!

BTW, I wish you'd quit using :horns2 so much! Reminds me of Texas :steam too much!

  11. Thanks. I'll keep the gun in the holster around here and the blade locked up ............. unless too many %#$*@#$ KSU fans come over to stir the pot. I don't like ISU fans much either by the way.

I'm not sure if you saw my post, but I've told 3 of my ISU buddies about the site. They tend to pump ISU sunshine from time to time, but they won't cause any trouble. :thumbs

  12. I've got a couple buddies that are Iowa State fans. For the most part, they're just knowledgeable college football fans who like to chat with other fans across the country.

My question is: Does this board welcome fans from other schools or is that frowned upon? I know there have been issues in the past where obnoxious fans come in and try to get us riled up, but I can personally vouch for these guys. Yes, they will talk a little smack, but it's all in fun.

    Is that a :bad ?

Let me know what you guys think, and if it's ok, I'll e-mail them a link to the site so they can get signed up.

Goooooooooooooooooooo Biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig Red! Go Big Red!

  13. Wow, looks like we got some pretty knowledable fans over here who love the Huksers...count me in! I am so amped for this season to start. I've already purchased two new home and away-colored turtlenecks to go under my lucky red cardigan sweater. Let's hope they bring the team better luck than my denim vest did last year (ha...ha...that thing's IN THE TRASH).

I'm so geeked about our new offense and our corps of running backs. I think the West Coast Offense...errr "Corn Coast Offense" (ha ha) was made for sending these horses out on dump pass patterns to give them some open field to do their stuff. Looking back, it appears Steve Pederson was a visionary for hiring Callahan and Company to open up the offense and bring this exciting game to Lincoln. The QB run-option had run it's course as defenses had figured it out.

Again, hope to talk more football here. Say, what do you all think? Thanks for the vine and letting me ramble some!
