You definitely need a thicker skin if the gentle joshing you received (after you started it, no less) made you go off the deep end like that. Well it is hard to tell whether or not it is gentle joshing or not judging by the Husker fans I know.

Like Michigan's power running game? Or Ohio State's power running game? Or how about Michigan State's power running game? Yup, Big10 - 100% power running. Michigan cannot be talked about yet, we do not know how they will pan out with Hoke as coach. Next year Nebraska should wipe the floor with them though. Ohio State does have a good running game, but has nice receivers and an athletic (but stupid) QB to get them the ball. And Michigan State does have a good running game when their line decides to block for them. Baker, Bell, and Caper have the potential to be a great 1-2-3 punch in the backfield next season.

I didn't mean to act like a baby, but living in Omaha I do get a lot of crap for being a Hawkeye fan. I come over here and it's the same stuff. Nebraska fans claiming that they will dominate Iowa year in and year out and the only reason for it is because they have a better history. But that's what it is, history. And Nebraska has been removed from their last National Championship that it doesn't bring in as many solid recruits. Iowa and Nebraska's recruiting is fairly even, though Nebraska's is probably a little better. But Iowa's coaches are known for developing players well and taking those 1-2 star recruits and turning them into NFL starters (really wish they could produce when they actually have great players, see 2010 and 2005). This is why I'm not too concerned with next season, because by the Nebraska game inexperience won't be an issue with it being the last game.

I'm not calling into question Nebraska's history. Congrats, you have a much better history than Iowa. Iowa will probably never reach what Nebraska has done. Does that mean I look less on my Hawkeyes? Absolutely not. I don't need national championships to support a team. Again, Nebraska has the better history. But does that mean they have a better team NOW? That is yet to be seen. Judging by what both teams are returning next year and what I know about Iowa, the two teams should be fairly even. I know Nebraska's defense is going to be good, but I'm not that concerned about it because it isn't anything that Iowa doesn't see in the Big Ten year in and year out. The Big 12 is filled with offenses that simply do not work on a defense like Nebraska's. Iowa, and the majority of the Big Ten for that matter, will come at you with a power running game and play action passing to mix things up. Pretty vanilla, but it should be more successful against Nebraska than those Big 12 offenses.

Back at ya for the marine comment. The context of the Pelini incident was quite simple. He made a promise, his team sucked in the bowl game, he didn't follow through with his promise, so he played it off like it was a joke. Kirk on the other hand was away from Iowa when he had heard about this so it was virtually impossible to be back right away. But even with that, Kirk gave a sincere apology for not being right there when he and others wanted him to, instead of telling a blatant lie like Pelini.

I never made any claims that Iowa was the superior team. My claim was that Nebraska absolutely does not have any superior talent or coaching than Iowa does. They are quite even teams that will match up will against each other. So this should be a close rivalry.

that nebraska beat 31 to 17 I can say the same thing about Iowa State buddy. Nice try. How's Floyd of Rosedale doing....oh right i should go ask a gopher. How's that Holiday Bowl trophy that you had a month to prepare for? Oh I'll ask UW. How's that revenge tasting against Texas? Oh wait that didn't happen either. I'm not making excuses for Iowa, they lost the games they lost because they did not execute when they needed to and plain gave up at the end of the season. If I were a Nebraska fan I would blame the refs and some conspiracy theory for every loss Iowa has.

You give Nebraska a better opponent than Washington a team we beat by 5 TD's in the bowl game and I'm 110% positive that we would've played 20x better. Playing Washington again in the bowl game was an insult to the University of Nebraska and the last laugh from Dan Beebe. Wow you sure do have a lot of excuses for your team. You guys are funny. Iowa and Nebraska were fairly equal in 2010. Nebraska was blessed with a cream puff schedule hence the inflated record. The difference being Iowa actually won their bowl game against a much better team.

And I'm discounting any talk of your 5 national championships because they are irrelevant in the here and now. How is that a trollish statement? I live in Omaha I know that Nebraska's only claim that they are better than Iowa now is because of what they did over 10 years ago. How is that not irrelevant now considering you've been through 3 coaches since then and have completely new players? And lost to Washington in the bowl game.

You have quite the optimistic personality then. It is a no brainer that he will to to the MLB. There is nothing that Nebraska could offer him that could be more than whoever drafts him for the MLB. Unless Nebraska wants to pull an Auburn...

Nebby fans will enjoy their time in Iowa City a lot more than at K-State. Hopefully not for the result of the game of course

Just thought I would introduce myself since I am the new guy here. I am a huge Hawkeye fan, but I go to school in Omaha. I am really looking forward to the rivalry between Iowa and Nebraska. Should be a very interesting and close series between the two teams from here on out. I look forward to talking sports with the members from the other side, and as always GO HAWKS!
