  1. I'm thinking that, given NU's newfound penchant for the quarterback being an important part of the ground game, and given that dual-threat quarterbacks are not as sought after as the prototypical pro-style variety, it would be wise to stockpile as many as possible, in case ONE gets hurt, you aren't tanking offensively. Hell, It may even become the case that QB's become interchangeable like RB's and WR's are...say for instance: QB 1 in for a series, or even just a few plays, then QB 2 in, QB 3 on short yardage, etc. In fact, Florida did something similar to great effect during Meyer's initial MNC run, as much as I think tebow is a clown, he was a great option in a short yardage situation.

Flip the whole concept of offense over on it's head, make a new model, a team model, where the #1 QB isn't important. The offense is. No more about "star" players(ESPN/Kingmakers be damned), rather a warring platoon replete with interchangeable moving parts.

Boy, that concept would mess with the big slow ten for sure...plus kinda old school Nebraska-ish.

  2. So then, if/when Mr. Starling winds up in Lincoln as a two sport athlete for the next few years, which of you (mealy mouth nay-sayers) are going to think "what a dumbass!"? or will you turn around and think "what a gutsy kid!"? If Lincoln turns out to be this kid's Mecca, as we should all hope, which of you supposed Husker fans will mock his decision, in word or in thought?

  3. Yeah, except they won't do any of that. Bo rolls out the 5-2 spinner, wisconsin won't get a first down till the 2nd quarter, and they fail to score unless they have a really good kicker.

Big slow power offenses aren't going to have any luck this season against the blackshirts. Zero.

  4. Inconsistencies on offense? you mean? Under Bo, the D has been consistently great, and this year the D should be incredible, based on what's coming back and the conference we're entering.

And hey, that offensive inconsistency has hopefully been addressed, right? new coaches wherever there was underperformance. SWEET.

12-1, one loss? because, well, just because, but NU still takes home the belt.

  5. I have tickets to the Ohio State game and will be buying tickets to the Wisconsin game.

10 days in hotels in Madison and Omaha.

    3300 miles of driving.

My guess is the cost will be close to 4000.00.

I want to see the first Nebraska game in the Big Ten, and I want to see the Buckeyes run on to the field at Nebraska.

    Well worth it to me.

    Awesome.

  6. I'll go 100000000000 to 1, wisconsin and iowa are the two big ten teams NU is MOST likely to beat. Can you imagine showing up with that BS grade-school offense against Pelini's deepest Nebraska D-Line, and best overall Blackshirt D? What a clown fest those contests will be.

How old are you? Serious question.

    Let's compare IQ's, instead.

    165. deal.

  7. Right now our record next year is 0-0.

Nebraska's record for the 2011 season will be 14-0.

Sorry to burst all those easy picks for the L's with the whos who of the BIG 10 but.................

Nebraska will not certainly not lose to overhyped overconfident Wisconsin in primetime. Camp where? I don't give a damn if it's in Madison.

They won't lose to humble humiliated tail between their legs Ohio State in Lincoln

and they won't lose to Michigan (what have you done for me lately) State.

and they won't lose to Penn (over optomistic for no reason because we choke in the stretch every time) State.

If anybody beats Nebraska it's going to be a scrappy Northwestern Squad or a hyped up emotional Iowa in the season finale.

I think a lot of you forget we are going to have one of the best defensive units in the country and the potential at offense is fantastic. The New offense is going to click and that powder keg is going to blow.

Optomistic? Always. Realistic? Without a doubt.

That's what i'm talking about. Wisconsin is a joke. Indiana is NOT NEBRASKA, people. God, get over it. Pelini will tap dance all over that weak sauce.

  8. The thing about Bubba's situation, that apparently most posters here don't realize, is that it's not "this or that". He CAN have his cake (pro baseball), and eat it too(two sport star at NU). Simply coming to NU for four years to play two sports does not rule out the likelihood that he would be selected even higher in the pro baseball draft after his college career ended, IF he is all that and the bag of chips that the pundits claim. This is the actual factual calculation at work here, so its more like "get paid now, or get paid more later AND get the degree". So unless borass can arrive at some reason that he should give up his degree and time at NU, he'll be wearing Red this fall.

And i'm thinking this kid could very well be a Bo Jackson level athlete, if you can pick up what i'm throwing down.
