HuskerBruin Posted February 3, 2011 Share Posted February 3, 2011 What I can't understand is why recruiting sites like Rivals base their team rankings on total points instead of average stars per player signed. Ranking them by total points does not account for the fact that teams have different sized... classes each year based on scholarships available. For example, USC has 2,431 points, but they have 30 recruits, while Oklahoma has only 1,722 points but only 17 recruits! So Rivals ranks USC's class at #2 and OU's at #13. But if you judge them by average stars per player (which would judge the talent/potential of the class while accounting for different sized classes), you would see that OU really should have the #5 class and USC #11. BTW, Nebraska would have the #9 class according to that ranking (and the top class in the Big 10). 1 Quote Link to comment
