11 AM Games...

Minneapolis usually frigid in the morning. Like 30F my guess.
Dress in layers everyone!!!
I think it will be 50 for the high that day, from what it kind of looks like. Cool, crisp, sunny, hot girls...can't wait.
The Weather Channel shows a high of 50 and low of 36 for the 24th. That's as far out as it will go right now. By this Thursday it should be showing what it will be.
It's going to be chilly but at least there's no rain in the forecast.

I don't want to be "that guy" but, can't people start bugging the Big 10 and/or NU to get these lame game times stopped to some degree? I mean how about something like: 11am: two games 2:30pm: 4 games Alternate times: 6 games
It's usually the networks that set those games. For instance, any non-televised A&M games are set for a 6 PM Kickoff. That time is changed when they are picked up by a network to air. It's not really Nebraska's choice.
We know that the TV networks control the game times, but that's where the Big 10 needs to step in and say "Hey, ESPN, we don't want to have a ton of 11 AM kickoffs, we will just put our games on the BTN." Also, the conference could create a rule where the central time zone teams only play a certain number of 11 AM games.
They could, but I guess that goes back to the contract the B1G has with ESPN. Probably hard to get out of.
I think Satan wrote it!
Nick Satan or I mean Saban?

Gotta be the competition. Until the level of play goes up in the B1G, those games will be early if picked up by ESPN or ABC. Think about it. In the B1G, the teams that have decent quality are:

Nebraska

tOSU

Wisky

Meatchicken

NW

Penn State?

MSU?

The above should kick the crap out of:

Iowa

Illinois

Purdue

Minnesota

Indiana
Meh Iowa doesn't belong with the bottom group this year. They've actually been much much better than expected.

Because they've done ... what exactly? Beat 1-4 Iowa St. by six (Thanks to Cody Green for their one win)? Pummeled a winless Western Michigan team that Chadron could probably beat? Minnesota is probably their best win this year.

and barely lost to a pretty good MSU team and barely lost to an undefeated and ranked Northern Illinois team...

Their resume is about the same as ours is

I'd be willing to bet that the majority of the 4 games after Minny, will be either 330pm or 7pm games...
Dont believe the BIG10 allows night games from Oct on

They're allowed in Oct but not Nov. The BIG needs to get with the times. TV and recruiting are too important to sacrifice them by not having Saturday night games in Nov. It is especially stupid when they backload your conference schedule so all your big games come in Nov. For roadgames like Minn I don't mind the 11am starts. I get to watch the huskers then watch the big games of the day. For homegames they suck for recruiting. Too hard to get kids in for a 11am game when they played a game the night before.
The Big10 has gone back on this some. Delaney himself has said that if two teams want to do a November night game, the conference would not stand in the way. Ultimately, it has to be up to the networks.
Interesting, given Hoke's record in AA and our record on Saturday night away-games I wouldn't want to take that game. Would be nice if we could get MSU to agree.

Yeah, 11 am games suck. And yeah, the reason we're relegated to them is because we're not relevant nationally. A few more 9-4 seasons with a couple of blowout losses and we'll be playing at 3 am on Wednesday mornings on the Home Shopping Network.

It's up to this staff to get it turned around. If they do, we'll get more afternoon and prime time games. If they don't, get your credit cards handy because you'll at least be able to buy cheap jewelry and knockoff clothes during the breaks in the game.

The thing is, NU doesn't have to be on at 11am. Like I said, LSU has all but one home game at "night" I think a lot of them start at 6pm. NU and the Big 10 could do that, good gravy, you have your own network! USE IT to your advantage anyway you can.

I understand from a recruiting and/or partying standpoint, 11AM is not ideal. But I have never minded them. I get up and watch Game Day, watch the huskers, and then I have the rest of Saturday to watch more football or go do something else.

Next weekend I have family coming in for the game and we are going to drink early and often and when the game is over, we are going to take the party to downtown St Paul.
You will, of course, have a designated driver?

Well, if you're offering.....But then again, I was always taught not to take rides from strangers.

On a serious note, drunk driving is no joke and I have way too much to lose to have something like that happen
