***2015 Recruiting***

So, we're poaching guys from Oregon state?
Considering he was one of their top recruits I don't see a problem with this? Our previous staff poached recruits from ULL and directional state. Stop stinking up every single thread my sweet God
Lol, rich.

I remember when Morrow left and poached our recruits, everyone here was pissed. Now we're ok with this staff doing it?

You mean The fact that Bo let a GA who he wasn't willing to hire as a full-time assistant handle recruiting and actually have kids commit because of the GA? Sorry but perhaps our actual staff should have built a relationship with the kid.

Sounds like Riley started making contact with current commits tonight. He will be on the road this week visiting commits. Early enrollees are the priority.

REALLY like that he's going to visit. That should help a lot.

He visited on the phone tonight with the Davis twins. Idk how it went yet if somebody has VIP access to 247 let us know

And at least as of 9 p.m. Sunday, a few of the prospects still had questions they needed answered.

Kendall Bussey Sr. told The World-Herald that he spoke with family members of defensive back commits Avery Anderson and Eric Lee — and none of them had heard from new Nebraska coach Mike Riley. Bussey's son, Kendall Bussey, is the star running back out of New Orleans.

They do expect the call (and perhaps a visit) to come soon. Shoot, Riley could be on his way to meet them as we post this blog. Riley tweeted Sunday night (around 10:40 p.m.) that he's started contacting recruits.

Being hired on Thursday morning and waiting until Sunday night to contact committed recruits seems like a long time to me. He could have easily dropped each one a 5 minute call on Friday after the presser to let them know he would honor their scholarship and to let tell them to hang tight for a few days when he would have more info for them.

Anyone know how this impacts the in-homes? Aren't HC's only allowed a single, or maybe two in-homes? Does that get reset w/ the new hire, or do Pelini's count against things. Same with total visits, etc? Not sure if Pelini had really done any in-homes yet anyway, but might hinder Riley's ability to visit some of these guys.

Pelini did not go out during either bye week so I don't think we've used any. I think the HC gets one and then assistants get some as well. I would think it's HC per school - doubt it would reset with a new coach but you never know with the NCAA. I don't think it affects us either way.

Apparently the new assistants do have to have paperwork and background checks done before they can go on the road. They are working on that now.
