I watched part of the debate last night. Ted just kept hammering home his taking points about how Beto was a far-left socialist who wanted higher taxes and bigger government. He name dropped a lot - Hillary Clinton, Pelosi, Bernie, George Soros. I thought Beto handled it pretty well. At one point he said Cruz must've been confused because he appeared to think he was debating Hillary Clinton.

Cruz is resorting to intellectually lazy, dishonest arguments about his opponent because he knows he loses the arguments on the merits. He's scared.

 
Nunes is polling 6 points ahead of Janz (50-44). He polled 12 points ahead (53-41) in July with the same pollster. Guessing Nunes will win but it's still good to see. 63% is the lowest amount of the vote Nunes has gotten in all of his House elections.

I do . The one with the popcorn guy kinda freaks me out . Deb Fishers aren’t my fave either 500 times a day .

Interestingly, the organization they think was trying to make this ad is bankrolled by the Cambridge Analytica guy.

Menendez is an albatross ever since the corruption trial. The best shot to keep the seat blue would have been him resigning even after found innocent. Regardless, with the number of competitive house seats, the blue lean of NJ and the national environment, I don't think Menendez loses the seat.

 
This article endorsing Gillum for Florida Governor sums up why I can't support Republicans controlling any level of government right now. Maybe individual candidates, but not collectively - when they get control, this is what they do with it?

The Democrat’s biggest contribution, though, would be acting as a brake on a brazen, arrogant Legislature. As governor, he could set spending priorities. He could veto state budgets that starve public education or divert money from affordable housing and environmental preservation. He could insist on spending more on mental health and less on corporate welfare.

Unlike DeSantis, Gillum also would block the Legislature’s attacks on individual rights from becoming law. He would veto new restrictions on abortion, attempts to make it harder to vote and punitive measures aimed at the poor. He also could reject the Legislature’s efforts that would erode the power of local governments and increase health care costs under the guise of promoting free markets.

I understand that Republicans feel the best way to help people is to grow the economy. But at what cost, when they take government resources out of the pockets of the people to divert them to the corporations? Not to mention choking the civil liberties of the people they're taking resources away from. 

I fear they've pushed much too far in the pro-business direction. They're steering us into an unmitigated corporate welfare state where businesses and the obscenely wealthy hold all the power. It's time to start helping people again.

These are the lengths Republicans will go to hold onto power. Sitting on voter registrations instead of processing them because they're black. Despicable.

People that would do this are scared they can't win legitimately, so they do all they can to rig things in their favor. They do not belong in positions of power.
