2018 mid-term

These are the lengths Republicans will go to hold onto power. Sitting on voter registrations instead of processing them because they're black. Despicable.

People that would do this are scared they can't win legitimately, so they do all they can to rig things in their favor. They do not belong in positions of power.

Already said it in the other topic, but I'll repeat it.

There was a time when I would've thought this won't stand. But now we have no protections against it because of the make up of the Supreme Court. Even if it got to the Supreme Court in time, they would say it's fine.

Many polls out this past week are showing a trend toward GOP candidates, especially in the Senate. It appears the angry and violent Lefts hoax against Kavanaugh has backfired.

Now there is a lot that can happen between now and election day, but it appears the stunt by the Dems could blow up in their faces.  Regarding the House, it appeaered they would easily retake it, but even those polls have tightened in key races.

I have noticed articles claiming the angry violent right is gaining some steam.  It will be interesting to see if the angry violent right can hold onto that or if the angry violent left will start to regain their momentum.

I posted awhile back that my mom looks like Warren (in that she looks like a typical senior White lady) and that my mom is 3% African. I also posted that I think Warren probably is part Native American but that in her position I wouldn’t have said it publicly because it’s just kind of weird.

Anyhow, Warren took that DNA test Trump keeps telling her he’ll throw at her, and it shows she has Native American ancestry.

this makes trumps pinocchios claims "fake news"
It makes them both look extremely foolish.  She's like less than 1/10th of a percent Native American.  That's closer to 0%

I don't like Trump and I don't like the names he called her.  But this, in my mind, doesn't vindicate her.

So she's like 1/512th Native American and has used that for her benefit in the past?

Isn't that the definition of cultural appropriation?
Yes

i have no idea where the claim came from or how it was used.....the context could make a difference but saying she had a native ancestor appears to be the truth

Her claim was that it was far back in her past. The DNA test confirms it. She knows what side of the family it was. In my mom’s case, she knows the exact person and has spoken to her distant cousins who are Black. They reached out to her first and compared family trees.

There’s nothing really wrong with her saying she’s part Native American. It just makes her kind of weird and I question the motive. The really foolish part is she claimed (even knowing it was small) she was a minority. The school says she didn’t benefit from it but it’s still something that makes me think she’s a bit of a weirdo.

The claim is she didn’t benefit from it. But she may have tried to benefit from it so you might still be right.

According to my uncle who has studied our family's genealogy, I have a very tiny part of Native American ancestry as well. But the rest is completely white European. I can't comprehend using this tidbit to claim myself to be a minority, nor would it make sense to use this for any sort of political points. If Elizabeth Warren has tried to exploit this, it would be shameful.

I don't know why Warren brought this up in the first place. I know why Trump keyed in on it (1. he's an a$$h@!e, and 2. he's racist), but this is sort of an unnecessary sideshow. Warren has the ability (and responsibility) to advocate for equality, for minority rights, and to fight Trump without personal DNA results.
