I just want to see our team opening up the field this season, getting teams spread out and on their heels.
I want to see an offense that can exploit defensive weaknesses within the framework of the offense. I've always said that i thought one of the hardest, most underrated challenges of playing in the Big 10 is adapting to the diversity of styles and that's more significant now than ever with the additional teams. The 335 on defense gives us that versatility, but I think we're making strides there on offense now, too. There was a much more concerted effort in the spring to get the ball, in space, to all 5 positions, and Raiola, in particular did well there.
With this TV deal, we're going to have weeks where you may have to play a Friday night game. You don't have time to install a bunch of stuff for that specific opponent. Can we make CBs come up and tackle, or LB/S play coverage....all of those things...and do so not because we're trying to run stuff we haven't had time to properly practice but rather just dialing up the elements that already exist.
For me, I think Satterfield gets a pass last year because of circumstances but I don't think anyone is going to give him much rope this year.
