** 2024 Opponent Preview : Colorado (Game 2) **

Ya I've been confused for like a half hour on why people thought this was turning into a blowout.
Yeah, honestly NDSU had a great chance. They had a drive in the 3rd quarter where they were driving at midfield and they... switched QBs.

After a bad RPO, an inexcusable delay of game, they stalled and punted. That allowed Colorado to get the ball and go up 2 scores.

I don't think the two-QB system by NDSU was that successful tonight.

This wouldn’t inspire a lot of hope if I was a Buff fan. This game perfectly highlighted their flaws and their highs. They are the same team with new names and an improved Sanders/Hunter and a few good WR.

This is basically the exact game I was hoping for for them.

They aren't a good team, but they'll hit some bombs on us and it'll be a shootout I'm feeling.  Can our freshman QB not turn it over? That's the question.

A 5 pt win over an FCS team and people are freaking out. Shedeur and 2 WRs is all they got going on. Yep, we’ll get torched a few times. But no way we’ll have as many breakdowns as NDSU had. Easy cover next week.

Honest question, when is the last time we easily covered a P5 team OOC?

Edit: Washington in 2010 by my quick research.  We were 18 point favorites in 2011 and won by 13.

Edit 2: We were 8 point favorites against Miami in 2014, won by 10. Is that an easy cover? I'd say no.

Colorado can get chunks of yards in a hurry.

But we held them to 56 yards on their first five drives last year.  Before our QB decided he'd like it better if he gave them the ball.

We have our work cut out for us.  But - like others have said - we can do a lot of things similar to what NDSU did tonight.  We just need to be a bit better than that.  Which is attainable.
