2025-2026 Portal Updates

How do you figure? He may have potential do his size. Draft outlook - raw, needs to improve footwork, be more consistent & has trouble with edge rush. Sounds like our tackles. Also this will be his 3rd team.
His grade of 86 was a prospect coming out of high school but he was the number 2 transfer offensive tackle last season. While he may have not lived up to his high rating just yet I would take him and let Geep try to develop his talent to get the best version of himself on the football field. Geep knows how to develop from all accounts.

One could only wish we land a offense tackle of his caliber.

"The offensive line as a whole struggled with sacks, though, and Chaplin was tagged with allowing 17 quarterback pressures on the season. He was also flagged 12 times for false starts and holds, with the next-closest Auburn offensive lineman at four for the season."

Sounds identical to the LT we already have..😬

I understand but EP has played a lot better since the beginning part of the season and while Chaplin does need work Geep could make him a better player I believe.

This is a great example of what I posted about earlier. He is one of the best available and has issues. I just don't think there are many great line transfers that are available. The few that are available have everyone all over them so at best we might land one or two.

Just how many LTs do you think there are in the portal that aren't projects? They don't grow on trees, you know.
We have a LT. Pritch was a great addition.

We lost 4 guys, 2-4 starters. Lutovsky, Rocco, Prohazka, Corcoron.

Gunner has gotten injured in both years as a Tackle.

We need to replace at least 1 IOL and would be great to replace RT.

If we have the funds, start talking and poaching and promising big money and getting a few guys. It happens everywhere like this.

The former coach did not develop the linemen we have currently. We need to add guys this year. And develop in addition to it.

I think if we’re paying we should not have to develop anyone. Coaches can tink a bit to fit their scheme, but if a guy gets paid he should 1. Have sound technique 2. Come fit and ready to play from day one 3. Be emotionally mature.

No room for projects on a 105 roster. I think we should be going after sophomores, with the exception of some big need areas like QB and RB. But a bonus of a guy that’s older is there is history, bad or good. At some point they are what they are.

Well if you're saying we can't get anything better than what we already have, why spend money in the portal at all and let's just hope jeep can develop what we got...!

Pritchard and Rocco both had good, fundamental technique, used universally. But they both had to change it to use Donnie's "NFL" technique. smdh.

As you saw, both of them struggled with it early on.

I am so glad Donnie is gone.
