It is kind of blurry. I had just exhausted my football eligibilty and was resisting becoming and adult.

Tentative Timeline
-I was a bartender at a local bar and my wife also bartended at an establishment a couple blocks down the road.
-We meet sometime after St Pattys day 2007. She couldnt resist my amazing personality or I gave her cheap/free drinks IDK??
-Her friend came in with her 1 night and tried hooking up with my roomate. She went back to my place with them to make sure he wasnt rapey.
(That is when I made my move in a non rapey consensual way.)
-Went on a date the next night. Continued seeing each other after that.
-Went floating a couple weekends after that. ***Key moment****
-After navigating a complicated float full of drunkards I have an epiphany about what one looks for in their soulmate. We navigated the perils of a float trip and exhibited amazing displays of communication and teamwork. We made tough decision after tough decision on whether to go right or left, whether to beach at the next stop and bong a beer, or to eat a sandwich to maintain full nourishment and bong a beer.
- When we finished the float and were back at our camp the scene made my decision even more crystal clear. Every couple we went with was about ready to kill each other. They were sunburnt, coming into camp with missing paddles and coolers from all the times they tipped over. Just miserable.
- After a successful float we continued to drink and hang out at the campsite.
- Woke up the morning after and with hell of a hangover and all the tents from the night before were gone. I rolled over and said if we can float together then we should probably do life together. She said yes we could. I was like then are we going to get married, and she said yeah, I think so.
- Then it was on. Had to find a place for a couple poor folks like us to get married, and soon before she changed her mind LOL!!
- Booked a place down in Eureka Springs Arkansas that checked all the boxes, 1) Marriage, 2) Available, 3) Cheap.
- I didnt know the wedding would be in the actual lobby of the hotel. I mean people were checking into their rooms as we were exchanging our nuptials. My family and a couple of my buddies are in the lobby like is this really happening. My brother actually had his bachelor party a couple days before and got in a fight with some of his brides family. Both my brothers had blacks eyes and busted up lips and nose. My soon to be with is walking down these steep old stairs and was having a hell of a time not falling down these stairs. She went to a bar down the road with her sister that morning and they did some serious drinking and she was thinking if she might be making a mistake. Which is completely logical because it seemed like we may have rushed this whole process, but hey take another shot of tequila and go marry this guy you barely know. This witch lady comes out and starts spouting about this eternal flame of love candle in the background and spreading incense all over the room. I think she made those candles and was getting a little free advertisement to all of those who were checking into their rooms at the time. Candle was not that impressive in my opinion.
- She said some random non traditional things and then we were married. My wife put the ring on the wrong finger and our marriage certificate wasnt signed by this lady, so I am not 100% sure if the marriage was legit. But here we are 18 years later and still navigating life like we did on our drunken float we took long ago.
- I tell my kids that we dated for years and we saved ourselves for marriage yada yada yada and lived happily ever after lol!
PS. The candle from the wedding was on the bill when we checked out. $50.00. Cost almost as much as our whole wedding and I didnt even get to keep it.

As expected, there's gonna be a lot of portal guys going down to a lower division or dropping out of football entirely.

What's kinda wild is that he was actually one of the top rated remaining QBs in the portal. He has the same rating on 247 as the guy that's currently #3. Good QBs come off the board quickly...
