2025 Polls and Rankings

Forget the SEC bias how bout the ND bias. Two losses and have beat powerhouses Purdue and Boise ST.
I do not agree with Notre Dame bias. I do agree that 2 loss teams should not be ranked until they have 6 or 7 wins to go with it.

However,

ND lost to current #2 Miami on the road by 3 points. The game was tied at 24 and the game winning FG was with 1:07 left in the game.

ND lost to current #5 Texas A&M by 1 point. The game winning TD came on 4th down with 0:13 left in the game.

How much can the voters penalize a team for those 2 losses? Plus, factoring that they were in the National Championship game the year before.

In this specific case, Ranking them #16 is ok IMO. Ranking them Top 12 would be bad.

Also, LSU is ranked 11th at 4-1 and their two P5 wins come against teams with a losing record. I would also say I don't get why Illinois is ranked so high given their blowout against Indiana. I am hopeful that the next couple of weeks will shake out the contenders vs pretenders.

Who do you think was the last team to start the season 0-2 and still be in the top 25?

With the playoffs, I am not sure how much the polls matter until late October. There will always be bias, so any SEC or B1G team can still work their way back into the conversation.

Agree - a 2 loss SEC or B1G team is virtually a lock to make the playoffs. AP and coaches poll don't mean what they once did.

The pre-season polls are always BS. But I do love that this year it's a huge contributing factor in making the LOLonghorn fan base melt down.
