I'm still in 'incremental improvement' territory. We're gonna be playing too many young guys for a true breakout season. Flashes of greatness, but frustrating inconsistency.

I have no problems saying the SEC has talent. Total respect to say so.

But to say 14 of the top 25 with most talented players/rosters are SEC teams?

That's crazy.

SEC has 16 teams. Which means only Vandy sucks - because even Kentucky is listed at 27.

I agree. The SEC love is over done.

I"m getting very nervous for this game. It actually feels good. It's how I used to feel before every game because I knew we had what it took to win, the team just needed to go out and execute. My wife would get upset because I would pound about 3 beers within 10 minutes of kickoff because I was wound up so much.

Yeah, I know. So much Kool-aid (I miss the old emojis) being poured, I don't want to get set up to feel deep disappointment later. I feel confident and that is a feeling I haven't had since going back to when we hired Scott Frost. And we know how that turned out.

I think it's the combination of Raiola, Holgo, and Rhule's track record. Everything seems to be in place for a breakout season, and really, it is, but they need to execute.

Thursday is the perfect test game. Cincinnati is not Georgia or Ohio State, sure, but they're not the Poor Sisters of Mercy. This is a respectable team. A dominating performance for Nebraska, and I think the dam breaks open on the hype. A loss, it'll fade quickly.

I really think a lot of Husker fans have overlooked this Cincinnati team. They're gigantic in the trenches and have a good QB.
