3 Reasons I dislike Mike Leach, share yours!

Thanks Vince. Your avatar/name combo crack me up. Too many people forget that it's all about having fun. Anyway, Leach is a good coach. Is he perfect? Nope, but he's the best man for the Tech job. And his lengthy tenure as Tech's head coach is paying dividends in recruiting. Tech will take another step-up in program quality beginning next year and over the next 2-3 years, especially on the defensive side of the ball.

100% Correct.

These boards are all about fun and not taking anything seriously.

I like Leach. I see him as fairly similar to Bo.

Both seem to not care what happens on the other side of the ball. Both take ZERO crap from anyone. Both are not afraid to kick players off of the team for violations of team rules . . . no matter how important the players are. Both are clearly concerned about academics. Both will speak their mind . . . even when they should bite their tongues.

Maybe we could hire Leach as an offensive coordinator . . . hmmmm. Nebraska would be unstoppable. :)

I like him in a way because I think he's funny but that's just me... Although him running it up on us a few years back hurt, it was still our job to stop their offense.

You will never find sympathy from a Red Raider about running up the score on Nebraska because y'all did the same to Tech so many times. Besides, that score got ugly because of NU turnovers more than anything. Just a bad day for your team.

I beg to differ RaiderMan. The real season for NU's suckitude that night agaisnt TT was Callafraud first, and turnovers second.

The only thing I don't like about Leach is that I think he is very responsible for what we see EVERYONE including us doing offensively these days

I have to side with those of you who are not the biggest fan of Leach. I will give the guy his props as a coach, offensively at least, but not a real big fan of him as a guy. I'll buy Raiderfans' explanation of TTU running it up on DONU because they owed us one, but Leach doesn't reserve such humiliation for rivals as others have pointed out. The whole media things is a little wierd, as is M Leach.

I'll like him a little more if he just looks confused on the sidelines on Saturday! GBR :box

I don't remember a single Nebraska game where the score was "run up". Back when Nebraska was beating the sh#t out of teams, the 3rd and 4th strings came in along with the towel boys. If teams couldn't stop us running up the gut with our scrubs in, that's their problem.

I am not going to go through every post but I think Leach is good for college football, he is an interesting cat, and interesting cats are what makes this the best sport out there.

1. Before he got into coaching Leach's primary focus in life was on studying law. Maybe it's just me but he has always come accross to me as reptilian in nature and looked like he belonged on one of those 1-800 Personal injury commercials. That combined with never playing a down of football and a lack of knowledge on the fundamentals of defense make me dislike his resume.

2. Leach conducts himself like a backwoods hick in his speech, body language and mannerisms. There is obviously a fundamental lack of serious respect between the coach and his players which has been demonstrated in the past and plays out for everyone to see when many of the players look and act like prison yard thugs. This makes me dislike him as a person.

3. With arrogance that makes Kanye West look modest. Leach leads his team to 84-7 wins over Division II schools echoing the mantra, "I'm just running my offense." Running up the score on anyone his Red Raiders get an advantage, showing a complect lack of sportsmanship and general respect of others combined with his loose handle on his players makes me dislike Mike Leach the coach.

Please, share your opinions.
That backwoods hick went to Pepperdine. A school so snobby, USC thinks it should get off its high horse.

I for one am hating on the TTech fans here who are typing with an accent.

Yup. Same philosophy, different offense.
