97 Degrees on Sat.

I have been too many "HOT" game days and it seems with each passing year it gets a bit warmer. I do not recall the Akron game in 97 but I am getting old so?

Last year that S.Miss game was miserable and yes they did run out of bottled water which for the older people was a concern. Under these types of conditions I would think they would allow people to bring in water rather than letting them pass out from heat exhaustion because like anywhere, some people can't afford to buy that high priced bottled water. Price is not an issue to me when it comes down to keeping hydrated or for snacks, but there are those who can't flip the bill or it may be their first time to the stadium and they are not aware of how much $$$ they need to have on hand.

I wonder how that New East Expansion is going to feel in the direct sun till 7:30 or 8:00 PM. In the winter, the sun will keep people warmer over there but in the summer months, it may be a scorcher (although they will probably get a good breeze up there)?

Dudes, I could not imagine being trapped in that freaking heat box this Saturday. Right now this is my plan. Leave Omaha by 1pm and get to PBA lot, set up and see how it feels, if it is super gross, then it is off to find a bar and chill until game time. By 7pm it should be much better and I will head back to the spot and watch on the TV and drink. I am bringing down booze but lots of water too!

The weather should start cooling down by the end of the first quarter....at about 8...

I will be at the game....

I'm not worried...

I'll be wasted and won't give a two sh#ts.

97 degrees I can handle. But if there was anything involving 98°, I'd definitely have to say away.
Only 97? Why not 98 degrees?

Way too late with that joke.

San Jose State in 2000 was over 100 degrees, day game
That was a hot one. My son (5 at the time) and I sat in the middle of a section between two 300+ lbs guys. Watched the first quarter in the stands, 2nd quarter down below, 3rd quarter in the stands, and 4th down below.

I bought him the cheapest t-shirt I could find so that I could soak it in water and wrap it around his head.

Considering that at 10pm last night it was still 87 degrees according to the NWS, I think it's very much a factor. However, I believe that it's going to allow us to see a lot more of younger players than normal. More rotation of lines, backs, etc

I would hope we would be seeing a lot of younger players rotated in against Wyoming regardless of the temperature.

I took my son to last year's So Miss game. It was his first NU game ever, and he was 6 at the time. I brought a kitchen rag from my in-laws and kept it damp with cold water throughout the game. That helped him a lot. We also took breaks underneath the north stadium, and spent halftime standing outside the stadium to catch a bit of a breeze. We were sitting in the north end zone, so finally at the end of the 3rd quarter, the shadows from the West stadium crept over to give us some shade. We left a few minutes into the 4th. I was amazed that my son was able to do so well during the game.

My mom was sitting in the east balcony, so the sun was beating on her all day. She told me that she had some troubles that day.

Florida State 1985...I had a snootful of bacardi and I thought I was gonna die in the 4th quarter. Neither team scored in the second half and the big eaters for both sides couldn't even hold their heads up in a down stance. They took a whole bunch of fans out on stretchers that day.

You must not have had enough bacardi if you can still remember that many details almost 30 years later.
